Virtual Idol in the Beast World: Five Clans Fight Over Me

Chapter 296 - 265: Ready for Use

Chapter 296: Chapter 265: Ready for Use

Catching a glimpse of the big, fluffy tail swaying gently behind him, she gave it a light pat before quickly pulling her hand back.

"Sit properly and eat." Barto pulled a wet wipe from the dispenser on the table, grabbed the hand she had used to touch the tail, and wiped it clean.

"Oh." Gu Ning reached for a chair at the table, but a strong hand beat her to it, pulling it out for her.

Gu Ning paused. She said, "Thank you," to the tall member of the Wolf Team beside her and sat down, feeling a little awkward.

Vine pushed her chair closer to the table and asked, "Does your stomach still hurt?"

Gu Ning: "It doesn’t hurt anymore."

Vine said thoughtfully, "Looks like I’ll have to ask that senior to prepare some more."

Gu Ning: "Some more what?"

"Looks like that medicine really works well," Leo spoke up, drawing her attention away.

Gu Ning turned to look at him. "You should have some. Do you want any?"

The way the puppy was sprawled on the sofa, it looked as if his injuries hadn’t healed much at all.

It made sense. With injuries that severe, a normal human would have been a goner long ago. The fact that the puppy was still alive meant his constitution was terrifyingly strong, not to mention he was occasionally still bouncing around full of life.

Sensing the little female’s attention and concern, Leo grinned and patted his belly. "I’m doing great. My wounds have already healed."

Having said that, he clutched his chest. "It’s just that bird was too ruthless. He broke my ribs. It hurts like hell."

It did hurt, but to him, this level of pain was no more than a scratch. He was lying down because he hadn’t slept a wink last night, kept wide awake by the intoxicating scent of Gu Ning. As a result, between his various injuries and the recovery medicine, he was now feeling completely drained.

"Let him hurt," Vine said. "Pain is the only way he’ll learn his lesson."

Noticing that the chair and table were a bit too high for Gu Ning, he thought for a moment, then walked over to the sofa and pulled out the cushion from behind Leo.

Leo complained, "Hey, there are so many pillows here. Did you have to take the one from behind my butt?"

"If you have nothing better to do, go patrol outside." Holding the cushion, Vine walked over to Gu Ning, bent down, wrapped an arm around her waist, and effortlessly lifted her up to place the cushion beneath her.

Barto shot a sideways glance at Vine’s actions, then placed the warmed milk in front of Gu Ning.

Gu Ning wasn’t used to this kind of meticulous care and said, a little embarrassed, "Wolf Team, I can do it myself."

Vine didn’t say anything, carefully checking her height relative to the table and chair. "Still too low."

Gu Ning: "This is fine."

After saying that, she quietly tugged on Cook, who immediately understood and squeezed in beside her.

"I’ll go after I finish breakfast with Little Ningning." Leo dragged a chair over and sat behind Gu Ning, draping his left arm across the back of her chair. He leaned in close and said, "You’re just tricking me. You can obviously communicate with this puppy without any trouble."

"WOOF." Cook barked at Leo, displeased.

Gu Ning took an egg from the plate and handed it to Cook.

"WOOF." Leo.

Gu Ning turned to look at Leo. "?"

Leo rested his chin on the back of her chair, his goofy, silver-blue eyes staring at her. "WOOF WOOF."

Gu Ning met his gaze for two seconds, then turned her head back around.

"WOOF WOOF!" Leo continued barking in her ear.

’...’ ’Can you please speak human?’

"I want an egg too," Leo said. "Can you stop pretending you don’t understand? We’re both dogs; you’re not allowed to treat us differently."

Gu Ning took an egg and handed it to him. "I can’t understand that. Speak properly."

Leo grinned and nudged her shoulder with his head. "Is it that you can’t understand, or that you won’t listen to *me*? Or are you just doing it on purpose?"

Gu Ning picked the correct phrase from his options: "I can’t understand."

Leo didn’t believe her. She could communicate with Cook without any problem, so why not with him?

Just as he was about to take the egg from her hand, Barto snatched it away.

Barto said coldly to the dog, "This is for her to eat. There’s none for you."

Leo’s long arm shot out and snatched two eggs from the plate in front of Gu Ning. "Stingy fox. With her appetite, she’ll never finish this whole table of food."

He had pretty much figured out her appetite over the past two days. He’d already thought she ate very little when they were on the road, and now, when she really needed to replenish her energy, she was eating even less.

Last night, Vine had organized a meeting to discuss Little Ningning’s physical condition. They confirmed that she didn’t need to eat more, just maintain a balanced nutritional intake and get more sleep.

The important thing was to reduce her physical and mental burdens and let her rest properly.

Because of this, both Leo and Barto had reined in their tempers a bit in her presence.

But smelling Gu Ning’s scent, Leo still couldn’t resist the urge to get closer, to press up against her, to talk to her more. "If I change into my beast form, will you be able to understand beast language then?"
