"Yes." Daisy looked at the live comments and said seriously, "After we found our daughter, the fear really started to hit me in retrospect. For the past two days, I haven’t dared to let my mother-in-law watch her alone. I had to ask my own mom to come help."

Hearing his name, IceCream immediately responded, "Woof~ Is Mommy calling me?"
Daisy bent down, scooped him into her arms, and flipped the camera again. "IceCream, do you see the lady on the phone? How about you have a little chat with her?"
IceCream stared at Renee Jennings with his dark brown eyes, then suddenly started barking anxiously. "WOOF WOOF WOOF! What does Mommy mean? She’s not going to find me a new owner, is she? This lady is very pretty, but I don’t want a new owner at all!"

Daisy replied, "My daughter’s name is Snowflake."

A small smile touched Renee Jennings’s lips as she asked again, "Then a few days ago, when Snowflake got lost in the park, were you following her the whole time?"

IceCream huffed angrily. "WOOF WOOF WOOF! Grandma is always lying! She tells people that Snowflake is a girl, so she’ll get married off sooner or later. She says raising Snowflake is a huge loss, that it’s just raising a daughter-in-law for someone else!"
Flynn’s mother was a woman with rigid, traditional views. The preference for sons over daughters had been deeply ingrained in her since she was young.
Her first child had been a daughter, but she hadn’t raised her well, and the baby died not long after birth.
Her second child was Flynn, which made her ecstatic.
After Flynn graduated from college, he married Daisy, and two years later, Snowflake was born.

Two months ago, Snowflake wasn’t walking that well yet. She could only toddle for short distances, always within her grandmother’s line of sight.
But recently, Snowflake had gotten much better at walking.
That day, the grandmother took Snowflake to the park as usual.
Snowflake was walking nearby while her grandmother chatted with that grandpa.
IceCream saw his grandma chatting happily with that grandpa, always smiling so much her eyes would crinkle up and her mouth would be wide open.
IceCream heard his grandma’s laughter getting louder and louder as Snowflake wandered farther and farther away.

He quickly barked a few times to get Grandma’s attention, then bolted off himself to stay by Snowflake’s side.
IceCream followed Snowflake for a long way, looking all around, but he couldn’t see the grandmother anywhere.

"To avoid taking responsibility, she lied to us and said she fainted and that’s how she lost Snowflake!" Daisy said, gritting her teeth in anger. "I will never forgive her. I was this close to never seeing Snowflake again!"
"What your mother did was truly out of line," Renee Jennings said, her expression also showing her displeasure.
"I’m going to go ask my mom about this right now!" Flynn shot to his feet and strode out of the bedroom.
Daisy looked at the screen, hesitated for a second, then grabbed her phone and ran after him.
