Fiona Wright paused, then looked at Susan Caldwell and said, "I can understand why you’d want to slander our classmate Vera Xavier. At the end of the day, it’s just because she’s more exceptional than you. But you already stole her spot for the freshman orientation speech. To pull something like this now, without knowing the facts, is enough to prove you’re a malicious person, unworthy of being a student at our school!"
Shirley Ewing chimed in loudly from the side, "That’s right! A girl with such a corrupt character doesn’t deserve to be a student at our school!"
The students watching from the sidelines looked at them in surprise, unsure of what the real truth of the matter was.
Fiona Wright saw their confusion and immediately announced, "I swear to all the students and teachers here that everything I just said is the absolute truth! I have no personal issues with our classmate Susan Caldwell, and I only just met our classmate Vera Xavier yesterday!"
Vera Xavier was a little surprised by Fiona Wright’s words. She had originally planned to explain everything herself after slapping Susan, but she never expected Fiona Wright to lay out the whole story in one go, while also denouncing Susan in the process.
Vera Xavier gave Fiona Wright a huge thumbs-up in her mind. ’A top liberal arts student really is on another level.’
Shirley Ewing had just been on the phone and didn’t know what had happened in the cafeteria. Now, hearing Fiona Wright lay it all out, she became furious as well.

Susan started to panic. Of course, she knew far more about Vera than the average person. All of her information had come from Rona Langdon, and she was still hiding that unmentionable secret.
Vera stared at her, her eyes filled with an intense, bone-chilling cold. They seemed to hold a piercing insight, as if they could see deep into Susan’s very soul.
Susan knew today was turning out to be more trouble than she’d anticipated, and she was on the verge of being utterly humiliated. The only thing she could do now was try to get the situation under control. She found herself missing Skylar Crowe. ’If only Skylar were here today. She could have handled this, and I wouldn’t have had to get involved myself.’
So she let out a few whimpering sobs. "It’s... it’s really not my fault. You just looked so suspicious at the time."
Just then, someone else stepped forward. "I can prove that Vera’s actions were, in fact, improper and easily misunderstood."
