An employee immediately disagreed with Nolan Rowan’s assessment. "Special Assistant, there’s no ’close enough’ in a fight, only winning and losing! Go, Deputy General Manager Nathan! Knock down Deputy General Manager Caldwell! Destroy him!"
As soon as they shouted, many other employees joined in. Sheldon Caldwell’s supporters wouldn’t stand for it and started yelling at the top of their lungs, "Deputy General Manager Caldwell, you’re the best! Destroy Deputy General Manager Nathan!"
Sheldon Caldwell was actually already a bit dazed from the blows. After taking those hits, his body hurt like hell! But he was the one who had dragged Nathaniel Nathan into this fight, and admitting defeat now would be too cowardly. He had to keep going!
Nathaniel Nathan decided that was enough and knocked him to the ground with a single axe kick.
"Damn! You’re ruthless!" Sheldon Caldwell muttered, unable to get up immediately after hitting the ground.
All sorts of whistles, cheers, and sighs erupted from the crowd.
Nathaniel Nathan picked up his fallen work uniform and prepared to leave. But Sheldon Caldwell suddenly leaped up and lunged for him. Nathaniel dodged aside, but Sheldon managed to grab and rip his uniform, revealing the scratches Vera Xavier had left on him the night before.
The employees who witnessed this fell completely silent for three seconds, followed by a thunderous, wild uproar.
This was too juicy!
The company had always been short on women, so hormones tended to run high among the male staff. As long as you weren’t an idiot, you could guess what the marks on Nathaniel Nathan’s back meant! ’Just how wild did things get to leave marks like that?!’
Seeing such marks of passion on anyone else would have been one thing, but on the perpetually cold and aloof Nathaniel Nathan, it was as shocking as the sun rising in the west.
Nathaniel Nathan glanced at his torn uniform, then at Sheldon Caldwell. Sheldon looked equally vexed. ’If I’d known *that* was underneath, I never would have ripped his uniform!’
’Damn it, this was a blatant public display of affection! And I was completely blindsided by it!’
Nathaniel Nathan curled his lip into a faint smirk and kicked Sheldon Caldwell to the ground. After Sheldon fell, Nathaniel reached a hand out to him in what looked for all the world like a friendly gesture.
Sheldon Caldwell thought Nathaniel might have a conscience after all, so he took the offered hand. Nathaniel pulled him to his feet. Just as Sheldon was about to say thank you, Nathaniel executed a perfect shoulder throw, sending him face-first into the dirt.
"Fuck!" Sheldon Caldwell couldn’t help but swear, but that was the only word he could manage. The string of curses that followed was stuck in his throat, unable to come out.
Nathaniel Nathan’s employees exclaimed once more, "Our Deputy General Manager is so awesome!"
They were incredibly proud to be on Nathaniel Nathan’s team right now. It made them look so good!
Most of Sheldon Caldwell’s employees just stood there, stunned. They couldn’t even bear to look at the miserable state of their own Deputy General Manager.
A duel like this was one-on-one, so they had no grounds to object.
Even if someone had wanted to stand up for Sheldon Caldwell, how could they? Most importantly, the one who had beaten their Deputy General Manager was Nathaniel Nathan—the so-called genius. Even if they all ganged up on him, they would probably be beaten to the point of crying for their mothers.
A cold smile touched Nathaniel Nathan’s lips as he once again walked slowly toward Sheldon Caldwell and held out his hand.
