Vera Xavier pouted. "I swear, apart from this, I have no more secrets!"
Nathaniel Nathan glanced at her. He didn’t say anything, but his meaning was clear: ’As if I’d believe you!’
He said slowly, "Are you trying to tell me that you’re actually the true young lady of the Caldwell family, and Susan Caldwell is the fake?"
Vera Xavier said in astonishment, "How did you know?"
’How could he be so perceptive? He even knew about this!’
