Chapter 535: Chapter 535: The Scumbag’s Downfall (Part 1)

Rejected by Vera Xavier yet again, Damian Yale remained calm. He walked beside her and asked, "I think you might have the wrong idea about me."

"You’re the one who’s mistaken," Vera Xavier said with a small smile. "If you’re paying special attention to me because of my perfect scores, I don’t think that’s necessary. That’s my business, and it has nothing to do with you."

When she finished speaking, she glanced at Damian Yale, took hold of her small cart, and strode away.

This time, Damian Yale didn’t follow her. He stood on the path lined with blooming trumpet creepers and chuckled softly. This girl was unlike any other he had ever known.

Other girls would be a little tense in a strange place, but she had been exceptionally at ease from the very beginning, as if she were completely familiar with her surroundings.

He watched Vera Xavier’s retreating figure. She had a fantastic body—slender and slim, yet exquisitely curved. Her back was lovely, held perfectly straight, showing no hint of fragility.

Damian Yale admitted that his initial interest in her had been because she’d gotten perfect scores on all her subjects. Now, however, he had discovered something far more fascinating—he was more interested in her as a person than in her perfect scores.

He felt that his last two years of university would not be boring.

Having reached this conclusion, he was no longer in a hurry. There were still two years, after all. He had plenty of time.

As he turned to leave, he saw Autumn Rhodes standing at the other end of the path. Seeing him look over, she smiled and walked to his side. "You seem very interested in Vera Xavier!" she said.

Damian Yale’s tone was flat. "Yes. Very interested."

He didn’t feel the need to hide it from anyone. It wasn’t easy to find someone in this world who genuinely captured your interest, and maybe, just maybe, this feeling could even grow into love.

After he spoke, he brushed past her without saying another word.

Autumn Rhodes bit her lip, her eyes growing red. She’d been pursuing him for a year, and he’d always been cold and distant. But the moment he saw Vera Xavier today, he was completely different.

She stomped her foot, and the impact sent a throb of pain through her nose, reminding her that just moments earlier, Vera Xavier had made her look like a complete fool!

She gnashed her teeth. ’Vera Xavier, is it? We have a score to settle now.’

Vera Xavier didn’t pay much mind to the small incident at the registration desk. In the future, they would just be fellow students, not even classmates, so she saw no reason to bother with them.

When Vera Xavier got to her dorm, she found it was still empty; she had arrived early.

After unpacking her things, she left the dormitory. Registration would last for three days, and only then would the official military training begin.

This meant she had two days of rest. She didn’t want to stay in the dorm for these few days, so she decided to head back to the villa first.

Vera Xavier knew that after registration, there would be a month-long period of military training before the official start of her university life. She hadn’t gone through these things in her past life, and now, getting to experience them, she felt an inexplicable flicker of anticipation.

After leaving the dorm building, she had nothing else to do and decided to go visit The Imperial Palace by herself.

Having made her decision, she took out a map to look it over. Once she had a rough route planned, she prepared to leave campus and take a bus there.

Leaving the dormitory building, she inevitably had to pass the registration area again. By this time, even more new students were there to register, and the crowd had grown.
