Chapter 493: His Care (7)
Chapter 493: Chapter 493: His Care (7)
Vera Xavier swallowed as she watched the scene unfold. ’Good lord,’ she thought. ’This isn’t a fight, it’s a one-sided beatdown!’
’She’d never reach his level, not even if she trained for her entire life! How was she even supposed to learn how to fight like that?’
After Nathaniel Nathan finished knocking out every robber with the steel pipe, he turned to find the entire car of passengers craning their necks to stare at him. Composed and unruffled, he took the stolen wallets from the gang leader’s hand. "It’s over," he said, his expression flat. "Anyone who lost money can claim it from the police later."
The words had barely left his lips when the weasel-faced man who had whistled at Vera Xavier charged him, brandishing a large blade.
A collective gasp echoed through the train car. Vera Xavier couldn’t stop herself from crying out, "Watch out!"
Seeing the worry in her eyes, the corner of Nathaniel Nathan’s mouth curved up slightly. Just as the blade was about to strike, he made his move.
His hand shot out, clamping around the man’s wrist like a vise. No one saw exactly how he twisted it, but everyone in the car heard the sickening CRACK of bone breaking, followed by the man’s bloodcurdling scream that echoed through the car.
Then, with a quick turn, he executed a flawless shoulder throw, slamming the man onto the floor. His hands flashed out again, moving like lightning but with tyrannical force. Two sharp slaps. The man coughed up a mouthful of fresh blood, and with it, several teeth.
Just as he finished, the train slowly ground to a halt. Police officers, who had been lying in wait at the station, swarmed aboard.
However, the scene that greeted them left every single officer stunned speechless for a good ten seconds.
Nathaniel Nathan pulled out his credentials, flashed them at the lead officer, and said, "They were robbing people of their emergency funds. I couldn’t just stand by, so I taught them a small lesson. They’re all here. You can take them away."
Upon seeing his credentials, the lead officer instinctively saluted him. But Nathaniel had already turned away, leaving them to handle the aftermath.
Nathaniel Nathan had been precise with his attacks. By the time the police arrived, the robbers he had knocked unconscious were already beginning to stir.
They were still dazed as they came to, offering virtually no resistance as they were handcuffed.
None of their injuries were particularly severe, with one exception. The weasel-faced man who had harassed Vera Xavier now had a hand with a comminuted fracture, courtesy of Nathaniel Nathan, and all of his teeth knocked out. He was in too much pain to even speak, let alone cry out.
Nathaniel Nathan just leaned casually against a seat. As the police led the thugs past him, every single robber stared at him as if they had seen a ghost.
The fact that he had single-handedly taken down a dozen large, burly thugs was terrifying enough.
They truly couldn’t fathom how they had been so unlucky as to run into a monster like him, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
The lead officer was extremely respectful toward Nathaniel Nathan, but he was swamped. He had to process the criminals and return the stolen money. The passengers, who had given up hope of getting their money back, were now thanking the police profusely.
Because of the incident, the train—which wasn’t even scheduled to stop at this small station—ended up being delayed for two hours while everything was sorted out.
An officer, curious about Nathaniel Nathan’s background, asked his team leader, the local police chief. The chief didn’t actually know Nathaniel’s specific identity either. He only knew he was active-duty military and had seen that the rank on his credentials was Colonel. A colonel was, at the very least, an officer of regimental command level.
