Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 460: Invading My Raft?

Chapter 460 -458: Invading My Raft?

Every plant grown from a Magic Seed is unique.

So, even though Zachary Pierce and his group were also surviving on the fringes of the sea, he still took out a Magic Seed and planted it at the edge of The Thunderhead. However, the plant that grew was vastly different from Faye Yardley’s Thunder Tree.

It was a glowing, blue-and-white tree with only branches and not a single leaf, yet it bloomed with large white flowers that flashed with electric arcs.

So when Faye Yardley returned to the raft and received the large white flower Zachary Pierce had sent, she was a little stunned.

[Thunder Arc Flower: Thinking of eating me? Don’t even try it—this flower isn’t edible. Wear me, and I’ll help you ward off evil spirits!]

The flower was huge, about the size of Faye Yardley’s two palms put together, and she had no idea how she was supposed to wear it.

‘On my head? It would be all anyone could see.’

‘On my chest?’

Hahaha…

‘The mere thought of it was ridiculous.’

“Willow, Willow, do you think you could turn this flower into a satchel? Or maybe sew this huge flower onto one.”

“Of course. You can leave it to me.”

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

A piercing alarm blared.

Faye Yardley told Willow to stay in the cabin while she went out. Once outside the raft, she saw a tall, sturdy, blond-haired man with a shifty look on his face, standing just beyond the shield.

‘Great. He looks like a typical foreigner.’

‘He must have used an Invasion Card to get here.’

‘He probably didn’t expect my raft to have radar and a shield.’

‘It couldn’t be that he was just that skilled and audacious.’

“You’re Faye Yardley? Number one on the combat rankings?”

He spoke Veridian with a bizarre accent that grated on the ears, making one want to just slap him silly.

And since that’s what she thought, that’s exactly what Faye Yardley did.

Without saying a word in reply, she pushed off from the balls of her feet and leaped from the raft. Raising her left hand, she fired a continuous stream of Crossbow Arrows at the man.

In moments, the entire magazine of Crossbow Arrows was spent.

“Oh, no, no, no! I didn’t come to kill you, beautiful lady! I—”

The intruder probably never imagined, even in his wildest dreams, that he would be dead less than a minute after his invasion began.

[Argus’s invasion has failed. His personal materials now belong to Faye Yardley. Please confirm receipt.]

Hearing the system announcement, Faye Yardley broke into an amused smile, feeling a wave of deep satisfaction wash over her.

‘He used an Invasion Card to get here. If he wasn’t here to kill me, what was he here for? To make friends?’

‘What a joke. Do I look stupid?!’

Faye Yardley felt like snarking at the corpse.

‘What an idiot.’

‘Still, I have to admit, this Argus guy was loaded. As expected, the fastest way to get rich is through windfalls like this.’

‘If only a few more idiots like him would show up.’

‘Come to think of it, I still have two unused Invasion Cards.’

After a moment’s thought, Faye Yardley took a close-up photo of the corpse drifting on the waves. She then watched as it was devoured by monstrous fish before returning to her raft. She sent the picture to Eleanor Jonas with a message: “Miss Jonas, can you help me find out what faction this guy, Argus, belongs to? He used an Invasion Card on me, and I killed him.”

The reply came quickly: “Okay, I’ll look into it now. Are you all right?”

Faye Yardley smiled and replied, “I’m fine. Thank you, Miss Jonas.”

“The warehouse is full of new things. There’s a new type of meat that’s rich in energy. I’ll cook some for you today.”

“Good. Make plenty. Let’s give everyone a reason to celebrate.”

Faye Yardley hadn’t showered in five or six days. She wasn’t physically dirty, but she felt gross. That, combined with having just killed some scum, made her hurry upstairs to wash up and change into a fresh set of clothes.

She instantly felt clean and refreshed, and her mood soared.

She went to check on the thumb-sized woman under the Star Feather Flower. The woman’s breathing seemed much steadier. It looked like the Star Feather Flower was working very well.

Using the newly acquired Concentrated Flower Dew to brew some Star Feather Flower Tea, Faye Yardley felt her Spirit improve considerably from just the aroma.

Sipping her Flower Tea, she went out onto the small balcony. After a moment’s thought, she took out a bottle of Concentrated Flower Dew and poured it directly onto the vines.

TWEET~ TWEET~

A small, chubby, yellowish-green figure flew in through the open window and landed on Faye Yardley’s shoulder.

Its little head followed the movement of her teacup.

Instead of giving it her tea, Faye Yardley poured it a small cup of Concentrated Flower Dew. “Here, you can only drink this. This Flower Tea was a special gift from an elder. No one else is allowed to drink it.”

‘That wasn’t a lie. Faye Yardley had no desire to test what would happen if someone else drank it.’

‘She wouldn’t even waste such a precious thing on her enemies.’

‘It’s far more satisfying to just kill her enemies outright.’

Time flew, and soon it was six in the evening. Everyone except Bramble had returned to the raft.

[Congratulations to all our dear, surviving players on making it through another extreme weather event! Aren’t you just ecstatic?! We know you’re just dying for more of this fun. Don’t worry, there will be more. For now, enjoy a couple of peaceful days. No need to rush.] x3

[Ha, if I say I don’t like it, does that mean I can opt out of these events?]

[Two days of peace. That’s great. I’m already satisfied.]

[Faye Yardley: corpse.jpg Anyone providing useful information on this person can claim a reward at the Special Trading Market. Note: In case of duplicate information, the reward goes to the first person to submit.]

[Whoa, big shot, the guy’s obviously dead. What do you need info on him for? Too bad I don’t recognize him. He clearly looks like a foreigner.]

[We’re all Veridians now, lol]

[Thanks, big shot! I was just running low on basic materials. That’s a huge reward for a piece of info. Hit me up next time you have a gig like this!]

[This is killing me! Why can’t the big shot ever ask about someone I know?]

[Don’t get too cocky, Veridian!]

The chat messages were flying by, but Faye Yardley still caught the one telling the “Veridian” not to get cocky. She immediately clicked on the person’s profile. As it turned out, they were originally a citizen of Sereneia.

‘Then again, there’s no rule saying people from different lands can’t team up. Who knows what their real relationship is.’

Just as Faye Yardley was considering whether she should pay this person a visit, their profile picture went gray and dimmed.

‘Wait, what? I haven’t even done anything and you’re already dead?!’

‘How can you be so arrogant when you’re that fragile?’

‘How did you even survive this long?’

“Dinner is ready.”

Cole Kensington spoke up, “I’ve been trying to change my heart into the shape of a book. I’m starting to see some results.”

“Huh?! You really can?” Faye Yardley was genuinely curious. After all, it was just an offhand comment from Lucy White. ‘Can a person’s heart really change its shape?’

“I think so. I’m starting to get a feel for it. I think if I keep at it, I can make it work.”

Faye Yardley looked at him. “I’m curious to see what effect that will have, but you need to put your health first. If anything feels wrong, stop immediately. Don’t mess up your body.”
