Chapter 437: Chapter 381: My Girlfriend Is Still Young and Doesn’t Know Better (2)

She looked at the fuming, embarrassed Lisa and approached with the denim outfit in hand. "Little sister, I really did see it first! You shouldn’t get so worked up. Look, not only are you bothering people, but you’re also making a fool of yourself in front of this whole crowd."

Lisa glared at Sepherdine, who was standing to the side. "You’re the one who bought it for her, aren’t you!"

Sepherdine gave a bitter smile. "Now, Lisa, you can’t blame me. I had no idea you’d picked it out first! And well, it’s already been bought..."

The stall owner watched the Guard Squad arrive in a hurry only to suddenly disperse, and panic began to set in. "Chief, you can’t do this! How could these two kids possibly have so many supplies? They must have stolen them! They should be arrested and brutally interrogated. You can’t just let this slide!"

"Shut your mouth!"

Out of the corner of his eye, Sepherdine had already spotted Lex Cross’s tall frame towering over the gathering crowd. And if Lex Cross was here, Flora Bloom wouldn’t be far behind.

Sure enough, in less than ten seconds, the tall and short pair strolled up to the stall owner as if they didn’t have a care in the world.

Flora Bloom glanced at the clothes in Rita’s hands, then at the weaselly-looking stall owner, and beckoned to Lisa and Caleb.

"Lisa, is that the outfit you came all this way to buy?"

Seeing Flora Bloom arrive, half of Lisa’s anger instantly vanished, while she desperately suppressed the other half. "Yes, that’s the one."

Flora Bloom sized up the clothes in Rita’s hands again, her gaze taking on the same cold, haughty air that Lex Cross had when he looked down on others.

"It’s certainly very nice. No wonder our Lisa liked it!"

Lisa lowered her head, embarrassed. "Flora, I... I shouldn’t have made such a scene!"

Flora Bloom smiled, her expression exceptionally gentle. She leaned back against Lex Cross, comfortable and trusting.

"You really shouldn’t have made such a scene," she said. She then turned to look at the triumphant stall owner and Rita, who was holding the denim outfit with a flicker of victorious joy on her face, so subtle that most people would have missed it.

Lisa’s head sank even lower. Caleb looked at Flora Bloom in confusion. "Flora, it’s not Lisa’s fault! It’s this owner who’s being unreasonable!"

"What I mean is, making a scene is a waste of energy. Getting angry at people like this is the last thing you want to do."

"You’re Rita, right?"

Rita met Flora Bloom’s calm gaze. "I am! If you’re asking me to give up the clothes, I’m afraid I can’t do that. I like this outfit a lot, too. I don’t suppose you can just force me to hand it over, can you?"

By now, the crowd of onlookers had grown even larger. The trading market was already the busiest area in the base. While most in the crowd didn’t know Flora Bloom, a few did, recognizing her as the owner of Villa Area No. 3.

But no one spoke up. For spectators, the bigger the drama, the better the show.

Flora Bloom nodded, as if she found Rita’s words quite reasonable. "So you’re not willing to part with it?"

Rita nodded. "I’m not."

Flora Bloom then turned back to Lisa. "Lisa, if I get the outfit back for you right now, and we buy it, would you still be willing to wear it?"

The question made the onlookers cringe. Never mind whether Flora Bloom could even get it back—the other girl was with the base chief. Could she really take it by force?

What they failed to notice, however, was Sepherdine’s painfully awkward, half-dead expression. He wished he could vanish on the spot, as if he’d never been there in the first place.

Lisa’s expression turned even uglier when she heard Flora Bloom’s question. In this post-apocalyptic world, without a superpower, she was constantly looked down on and treated unfairly. Inside Villa Area No. 3, she was a quiet girl who never caused trouble. But as soon as she left its protection, she became just another ordinary person for anyone to bully.

"I... I don’t want it anymore!"

Flora Bloom could hear the restraint and struggle in Lisa’s voice. The sound, thick with unshed tears, made Flora’s heart ache a little, but she didn’t offer any further explanation.

When Rita heard Flora Bloom’s question to Lisa, the corner of her mouth couldn’t help but curl into a smirk before she quickly pulled it back. ’It seems this Flora Bloom is afraid of Sepherdine after all. As long as he’s on my side, I’ll be untouchable here in Morhaven Base.’

Flora Bloom suddenly straightened up and walked over to Rita. "The outfit really is nice, and very fashionable. It would suit you well."

Rita broke into a gentle smile. Though her expression was modest, her eyes held an unbridled arrogance, as if it was only natural that Flora Bloom should praise her.

She went to Sepherdine’s side. "Sepherdine, you see? Even Flora thinks it would look great on me!"
