Chapter 2821: Warning To The Servant

Chapter 2821: Chapter 2821: Warning To The Servant

"Not at all. Your Auntie Su Xiao can only shake her head in helplessness whenever his name comes up." Ming Yue said with a gentle laugh.

"We will take our leave first, then." Yu Qi said politely.

"Go ahead, don’t let me keep you." Ming Yue replied.

Yu Qi and Long Hui made their exit from the market.

One of the two helpers accompanying Ming Yue was a recent hire who had never met Yu Qi or Long Hui before.

"First Madam, who were those two? They are remarkably attractive," the new helper remarked curiously.

"Oh, that is my niece and her fiancé. They are indeed a stunning pair. A match made in heaven." Ming Yue said, a proud smile gracing her face.

"They are not married yet? Are they already living together?" The helper asked.

"Yes, they are." Ming Yue nodded casually.

"It really is not proper for a young couple to cohabit before marriage. First Madam, you should really advise your niece to stop—"

Before she could finish her sentence, Ming Yue cut her off sharply.

"You don’t need to concern yourself with their personal lives. It has absolutely nothing to do with you." Ming Yue said, shooting the helper a stern, reprimanding glare. ree

The newly hired woman was startled.

"I am going to buy what I need over there. The two of you can carry on together." Ming Yue said coldly before walking away.

Once Ming Yue was out of earshot, the new helper could not resist grumbling under her breath. "What did I say wrong? I was just stating the truth."

"You had better keep your mouth shut regarding Young Miss Yu Qi." The senior helper warned her quietly. "Just as First Madam said, it is none of your business. If Old Master ever hears you speaking about Young Miss Yu Qi like that, you will be fired on the spot. Young Miss Yu Qi is Old Master’s most cherished granddaughter. He treasures her even more than his own grandsons."

"What? He treasures his granddaughter more than his grandsons?" The new helper stared in total disbelief.

Coming from a traditional rural village, her mindset was firmly rooted in conservative beliefs where grandsons were prioritised to carry on the family lineage, and cohabitation before marriage was strictly frowned upon.

Upon returning to their house, Yu Qi and Long Hui went straight to the kitchen to put away the groceries they had just purchased. Yu Qi informed Long Hui that she was going into Sere to gather a few additional ingredients for cooking, to which Long Hui nodded in agreement.

Entering Sere, Yu Qi made her way directly to the garden to pick the fresh vegetables and herbs she needed for her recipes.

"Master, what are you making today?" Bo Ya asked, running up to her with curiosity.

"I am going to cook a big meal for my Senior Brother. He is visiting our house today." Yu Qi replied with a warm smile.

"Oh! Let me help you then." Bo Ya offered enthusiastically.

"Where are the others?" Yu Qi asked, glancing around the vast space.

"They are over by the lake. The ancient tree you brought inside is there, and Xiaohua and Xiaoliu seem to be staying close to it." Bo Ya explained.

"Master! Master! You are here!" Aoi came bounding over, his tail wagging happily. "Are you picking vegetables? I want to help you too!"

"Thank you, both of you." Yu Qi nodded affectionately.

With the little boy and the spirit beast helping her pick the freshest vegetables and herbs, Yu Qi finished gathering everything she needed within ten minutes.

"I will come back and bring you all some delicious food after I finish cooking." Yu Qi promised before leaving.

"Alright, Master!" Bo Ya nodded.

"I want extra meat, Master!" Aoi added eagerly.

"I know, I know." Yu Qi laughed.

She then returned to the outside world carrying a generous haul of fresh vegetables and herbs. Long Hui raised an eyebrow, visibly surprised by the sheer amount she had brought back.

"That’s quite a lot." Long Hui commented.

"Mhm... It’s fine! If we can’t finish everything, we can just store the extras back in Sere." Yu Qi grinned playfully.

With that, the two of them set to work in the kitchen. Yu Qi naturally acted as the head chef, while Long Hui attentively followed her instructions as her assistant. Four hours later, a lavish multi-course feast was completely prepared.

For the starter, she had made savoury beef and mushroom open-faced dumplings. The main course featured a wide variety of options. Grilled fish, a garlic shrimp clay pot, fresh vegetable soup, classic tomato scrambled eggs, authentic Sichuan boiled fish, stir-fried beef, and a tender beef stew with potatoes.

Since she did not have enough time to prepare desserts from scratch, she had ordered a whole strawberry shortcake and a rich Black Forest cake from a nearby high-end bakery.

Just as they finished setting up, Yu Qi received a text message from Qin Xia letting her know he had arrived at the building entrance. She immediately asked Long Hui to head down to bring him up. Even though Long Hui despised dealing with Qin Xia, he readily complied since it was Yu Qi’s request.

When the two men stood face-to-face in the lobby, an invisible, electric spark flickered between them as they exchanged cold, sharp gazes.

A nearby resident, happening to pass through the lobby, stopped in her tracks, completely captivated by the sight of two strikingly handsome men. She recognised Long Hui, having seen him once before alongside the gorgeous female owner of the top penthouse suite. However, it was her first time laying eyes on Qin Xia, who possessed an aura that was equally mesmerising.
