An hour later, the dinner finally came to an end. Yu Qi and Long Hui stood up to take their leave.
"Senior Brother Xia, come over to our place for lunch tomorrow. I will cook a big feast for you." Yu Qi said before departing. "Oh, and we also have important matters to discuss."
"Mhm... I will be there." Qin Xia nodded without hesitation.
Hearing their exchange, Shen Wangjing instantly felt a surge of panic, worrying that Yu Qi was actively plotting to steal his potential business deal right out from under his nose.

"NO!" Both Long Hui and Qin Xia barked out simultaneously, rejecting her request in unison without a shred of hesitation.
Shen Quoxi froze on the spot, stunned into silence as tears welled in her eyes. She turned her tearful gaze toward Yu Qi, expecting her to smooth over the awkwardness and invite her out of politeness. However, Yu Qi completely ignored her silent pleading, boldly taking Long Hui’s hand in hers.
"We will be taking our leave now." Yu Qi announced pleasantly.
Shen Quoxi was left completely speechless as she watched Yu Qi and Long Hui walk away. Normally, a host would offer a polite concession to save face and invite her along anyway. How could she just walk off like that?
"I am leaving as well." Qin Xia stated coldly, turning on his heel to exit.
"President Qin, wait a moment!" Shen Wangjing hastily ran over to Qin Xia’s side. "President Qin, I really—"
Shen Wangjing did not even get the chance to finish his sentence before Qin Xia cut him off sharply.
"Enough! Make sure I never see your face again." Qin Xia commanded, narrowing his icy eyes.
"W-What?" Shen Wangjing stammered, caught off guard.
"Did you honestly think I would not see right through your pathetic little setup tonight?" Qin Xia said, his voice dropping into a dangerous whisper. "If you ever dare approach me again or try to scheme against me, I will personally ensure your life becomes a living hell."
Without waiting for Shen Wangjing’s response, Qin Xia swept past him and left the establishment.
Shen Wangjing stumbled backwards in shock, his knees giving way as he collapsed onto the floor. In truth, he really had been orchestrating a trap. His original plan was to slip a potent aphrodisiac into Qin Xia’s drink and send his daughter to his hotel room later that night. However, Yu Qi and Long Hui’s unexpected appearance had completely ruined his execution. With Yu Qi being a highly skilled doctor, the risk of the drug being detected at the table was simply too high.

The following morning, Yu Qi and Long Hui headed to the local wet market to shop for ingredients for Qin Xia’s lunch. As it was the weekend, the market was bustling and crowded with shoppers.
Fearing that Yu Qi might get jostled in the crowd, Long Hui kept a protective arm wrapped around her waist. At one point, a hurried shopper nearly crashed right into Yu Qi’s shoulder, but Long Hui swiftly pulled her back into his arms, keeping her steady before she could lose her balance or fall.
The two made their way over to a fresh fish stall. Yu Qi planned to pick up a few fish since she knew Qin Xia enjoyed seafood, a preference she remembered from her past life as Qin Yue. However, she was mindful not to neglect her beloved fiancé or make him feel left out during the meal, so she made sure to buy some chicken for his favourite dishes as well. As for the fresh produce, there was no need to purchase any at the market, as the garden inside her space offered a rich harvest that tasted far superior to anything sold outside.
Once they finished gathering their groceries, they unexpectedly ran into Ming Yue, who was accompanied by two domestic helpers.
"Oh, Yu Qi, Xiao Hui!" Ming Yue called out as soon as she spotted them in the crowd.
"Auntie Ming Yue." Yu Qi greeted her with a warm wave.
Long Hui gave a polite nod in greeting.
"I certainly did not expect to run into you two here." Ming Yue said with a smile. Her eyes then landed on the heavy grocery bags Long Hui was carrying. "My, you two bought quite a lot."
"Mhm, we have a guest coming over for lunch today, so I am preparing a big meal." Yu Qi explained cheerfully.
"I see." Ming Yue nodded.
"By the way, is Brother Qin Hao coming home today?" Yu Qi asked.
"No, you know how he is. He practically lives at the hospital." Ming Yue sighed deeply. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, I ran into him recently, and he mentioned he was planning to visit home." Yu Qi replied.
