Chapter 6689: The Depressed Jie Tianran
“How is it? Did you manage to decipher the riddle?” the old entity in Jie Tianran’s body asked.
“The clues in this room point toward the word, ‘Bloodline’,” Jie Tianran said.
“Do you want to confirm it? You only have one try.”
“There’s no need for that. I trust my judgment.”
Jie Tianran picked up the brush and wrote the word ‘Bloodline’ on the stone monument.
The stone monument immediately reacted.
“The answer really is ‘Bloodline’. Does this mean that God’s Era’s final power enhances one’s bloodline? Or does it contain the strongest bloodline in the world, the God Bloodline?” the old entity murmured.
Jie Tianran picked up on his words and asked, “Elder, is the God Bloodline the strongest bloodline in the world?”
“No, that’s just my guess. This place is called God’s Era, after all. If the final power is really a bloodline, I reckon it would be the strongest one in the world. It wouldn’t be excessive to name it ‘God Bloodline’,” the old entity replied.
“Yes, that is possible.”
Jie Tianran thought that the deduction sounded plausible, and it raised his anticipation. His greatest bottleneck currently was his weak bloodline, which was why he had placed so much emphasis on Chu Feng’s Ruler’s Bloodline.
If God’s Era truly had the world’s strongest bloodline and he obtained it, his rise to greatness would be guaranteed. It would only be a matter of time before he rose to the top.
Weng!
The stone monument lit up. It was the same thing as what had happened to Chu Feng.
When the light receded, Jie Tianran found himself transported into a vast realm. He could see the horizons of this realm, as well as God’s Era’s silhouette, but unlike the realm that Chu Feng was on, this realm was shrouded in many layers of sealing formations.
And Jie Tianran was trapped inside the innermost sealing formation.
Jie Tianran’s trial was to breach the sealing formations.
But he didn’t get to action right away as he was distracted by the changes in God’s Era.
A ray of light gushed from the third gate toward the head of God’s Era’s silhouette. That naturally drew Jie Tianran’s attention toward the platform on top of the silhouette, as well as the golden throne.
However, he also noticed that there was already a link between the second gate and the golden throne, and that nine-colored steps had already begun appearing in that link.
“That darned Chu Feng!” Jie Tianran clenched his fists.
He had been the first one to enter God’s Era, but somehow, Chu Feng was still able to advance ahead of him.
The voice Chu Feng had heard earlier boomed in Jie Tianran’s realm. It told him that his realm was shrouded in many sealing formations, and that he had to breach the formations to forge the steps required to reach the golden throne. However, the sturdiness of the steps depended on how perfectly the formations were breached.
As soon as the voice faded, Jie Tianran began breaching the first sealing formation. He was the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s Mansion Master, after all. While the golden throne had caught his attention, it didn’t stop him from observing and figuring out the solution for the first formation.
It only took a moment for him to complete the deciphering formation.
As the two formations overlapped, the first sealing formation crumbled.
With that, Jie Tianran had deciphered the first formation.
However, the second sealing formation was only going to be tougher.
Jie Tianran turned to the link, curious to know what kind of step he had forged. Much to his dismay, the step appeared to be made from dirt, and it didn’t emanated the slightest glow.
He looked at Chu Feng’s step—it had nine colors and was glowing with a faint radiance.
There was a stark contrast between the two.
“Hahahaha!” Eggy laughed loudly when she saw the step forged by Jie Tianran.
“Chu Feng, your grandfather is making dirt bricks over there. Looks like my eyes have failed me. Your steps are already perfect as they are.” Eggy was laughing so hard that she was bent over.
Chu Feng crawled up from the ground. He, too, has noticed the dirt step, but he didn’t laugh. Instead, he said aloud, “Continue!”
Boom!
Another blue lightning bolt struck Chu Feng, causing him to collapse and his flesh to rip open once more. However, the blue aura appeared even faster than before, and his body recovered at a faster rate, too.
...
“How is this possible?”
Jie Tianran’s face turned livid. This matter was a huge blow to him.
“Don’t get distracted, Jie Tianran. Focus. Make sure your deciphering formation is impeccable,” the old entity said.
Jie Tianran pulled himself together and focused on the second formation.
He had already given his all for the first formation, doing everything he could to ensure that it was perfect. Since the result was not satisfactory, he began nitpicking the details more, resulting in the observation time and formation construction time to become much longer.
The eventual deciphering formation easily breached the second sealing formation.
However, the newly forged step remained a disappointment. It was still a dirt step.
“Why? Why is this happening?” Jie Tianran was frustrated.
He looked at Chu Feng’s step once more, and he dropped to his knee in frustration. He was already putting in his all, but it was to no avail. This was a massive blow to him. He was forced to wonder if the gap between him was Chu Feng was impossible to bridge.
“Am I destined to lose to that little bastard?” Jie Tianran had never felt so defeated before.
“Jie Tianran, are you planning to give up,” the old entity asked.
Jie Tianran didn’t answer. He was feeling confused.
“You should speak now if you intend to give up. We can leave now,” the old entity said.
Jie Tianran remained silent.
“If you don’t intend to give up, get up and continue. Stop kneeling uselessly here. I suspect that the steps you forged are inferior to Chu Feng’s due to the door you have chosen. Isn’t this door lower in terms of difficulty? Since there is a difference in difficulty level, the steps you forge are bound to be different,” the old entity said.
Those words brought a glimmer of light back to Jie Tianran’s eyes.
“If my guess is right, your standards for perfection would be different. Perhaps, you are already achieving the ceiling of what is possible for this gate. If so, what you have to do now is to speed up and catch up with Chu Feng. If you can ascend God’s Era faster than him, the flamboyant steps he forged will become a joke,” the old entity added.
Jie Tianran’s gloomy mood was cleared right away. He got back up to his feet. It didn’t make sense for him to give up now when he had worked so hard for this day.
“Elder, thank you for your reminder.”
Jie Tianran regained his fighting will.
