Chapter 6687: The Throne at the Top

“The hell...”

The moment Chen Hui put a leg into the blood pool, his expression distorted, and he leaped out with a yelp. His leg was now covered in injuries, with fresh blood seeping from it.

Rather than a cultivation pool, it felt more like a man-eating monster!

“This pool will metamorphose your body. If you can’t even take this much, how can I entrust the conservative faction’s future to you?” Dongfang Hansong looked at Chen Hui in disappointment.

His words stabbed into Chen Hui’s heart like sharp daggers.

So, Chen Hui clenched his jaws and stepped into the blood pool once more. The moment he came into contact with it, his face distorted once more, and his complexion quickly turned pale.

It was so excruciating that he could die, but he stopped himself from letting out even a squeak as if to prove his masculinity.

While his mouth was stubborn, his body was more honest. Tears were already flowing from his eyes.

Soon, the pool began smelling like blood. Chen Hui’s flesh had melted into the pool.

“Try your best to relax and accept the energy. That will hasten the reforging of your body,” Dongfang Hansong said while averting his gaze. He couldn’t bear to see Chen Hui’s current state. “You can shout if you want to. It’s not embarrassing.”

“I-I can hold on,” Chen Hui said.

He regretted those words right away, for he was unable to hold on.

The more he relaxed, the more painful it became. Soon, a primal shout echoed endlessly in the hall. Those who didn’t know better would have thought that two apes were up to something.

Dongfang Hansong’s heart clenched, but he stopped himself from doing anything. He knew that this tempering would determine Chen Hui’s future, and that the latter had to succeed. To distract himself, he turned his attention to God’s Era’s formation.

“Hm?” Dongfang Hansong narrowed his eyes.

He saw Chu Feng approach God’s Era’s second gate and enter it.

...

Chu Feng was surprised by what he saw after entering the gate.

Instead of being transported into vast space, he found himself in a small room.

At the center of the room was a blank stone monument, and a brush was placed beside the monument. Other than these, there was nothing else in the room.

“Chu Feng, are we in the right place? This room is smaller than a pigsty.” Eggy frowned.

“This should be God’s Era, based on what I know,” Chu Feng replied.

“Are you sure? What’s the deal with the stone monument and the brush? Are you supposed to write your name on it to mark your arrival, or is there something more to it?”

“I think there is something more to it.”

Chu Feng observed the stone monument and the brush. Soon, his eyes lit up.

“I get it now, Eggy. There is something hidden in this room. We have to decipher it and write it on the stone monument,” Chu Feng said as he continued scanning the room.

But the surrounding walls were completely bare. He couldn’t discern anything even through Heaven’s Eyes. So, he closed his eyes instead to perceive with his heart. Soon, he grasped something.

“Found it.”

“What is it?” Eggy asked anxiously.

Instead of answering her question, Chu Feng walked up to the stone monument, picked up the brush, and wrote down a word—’Bloodline’.

“Bloodline?” Eggy murmured as she watched with curious eyes.

Before she could ask anything, the ‘Bloodline’ word emanated a brilliant light that swiftly enveloped the room. It was so bright that Chu Feng struggled to see the word he had just written on the stone monument despite standing right in front of it.

Chu Feng suddenly felt a gust of cold wind tugging at his clothes. It would appear that he had been transported from the indoors to the outdoors.

Soon, the light receded.

Indeed, Chu Feng had been transported to a peculiar realm, where the ground was a humongous lump of flat metal. This realm was barren, resulting in the wind being exceptionally strong. It was also for the same reason that one could see to the horizons of the realm.

Beyond the horizons of the realm, God’s Era’s silhouette glowed with a sacred light.

Chu Feng seemed to be inside God’s Era, so he could see what was happening to it as well.

“You’re right, Chu Feng. I can see now that we are inside God’s Era.” Eggy exhaled in relief. She followed Chu Feng’s gaze and began observing the realm as well. “Chu Feng, the metal beneath your feet seems to be a metal for conducting electricity.”

“Yes, but that isn’t all. It seems to harness other powers.”

Chu Feng observed that the humongous metal ground had been inscribed with runes, just that the runes were so huge that they spanned tens of thousands of meters in length. Normal people would have thought that they were patterns instead of runes.

Just then, he looked toward space.

Something was happening to God’s Era.

A ray of light extended from the top of the second gate toward the head of God’s Era’s silhouette, forming a flight of stairs that connected the two. At the same time, the silhouette also began to transform.

The silhouette’s head accessory, which was previously incorporeal, slowly turned tangible, forming a three-sided golden altar. The altar was simple in design, but it looked domineering.

An item was placed on the altar—a golden throne.

The golden throne felt like the most important aspect of God’s Era. It drew in anyone who laid their eyes on it. The crowd instinctively understood that the person who sat on the throne would receive God’s Era’s final power.

And the throne was connected to the second gate by a ray of light. Chu Feng must have something to do with it.
