Lord: I Grind EXP with Warband Panel

Chapter 286 - 51: Victory

Chapter 286: Chapter 51: Victory

The second batch was certainly not as effective as the first. Their coordination with their masters, for one, was completely lacking.

But that didn’t matter. For Robson and the Cavalry Team behind him, they were charging down from the mountains. This was the perfect terrain for cavalry.

A troop of Heavy Cavalry charging down from a mountain—the very thought of such a sight was terrifying.

....

Dosa listened to the rumbling from behind, his heart filled with unspeakable misery.

’I already abandoned my position. Why are they still chasing me?’

Left with no choice, Dosa, who had only just rested for a moment, could only continue to flee.

He remembered that Chief Castro had charged out in this very direction this morning.

"Huh? Dosa! What are you doing here?!"

Dosa had only made it halfway when his path was blocked. He looked and saw it was Eira and the same group of Dwarves from before.

"What happened to you?" Eira asked, staring at Dosa in disbelief. He was completely disheveled, reeking of blood.

To be precise, everyone there, except for Eira, was completely disheveled.

"Don’t tell me you..." Eira looked at Dosa.

Dosa remained silent, his gaze simply falling on the equally disheveled Dwarf, Tec, who stood beside Eira.

No one said a word, but in that moment, everything was understood.

"So, what do we do now?" Dosa asked, looking at Tec.

"What do we do?" Tec was surprised that Dosa would ask him. Given how things had turned out, he didn’t feel like saying much.

"Over there... that’s the human cavalry, isn’t it?" Tec asked, pointing to the plume of dust rolling down the mountainside.

Dosa nodded. Receiving confirmation, Tec sighed.

"In that case, we’d better run."

.....

Just as Robson began his charge, Castro arrived on the battlefield.

After a standoff that lasted for several hours, Castro was the one who finally chose to attack first.

Castro had brought several thousand warriors with him when he set out from the camp on Wayne Moutain.

In contrast, the two human armies before him combined had just over a thousand soldiers.

Fortunately, however, having learned from their previous loss to a sneak attack, both Viscount Edwin and Earl Uman had matured a great deal.

The two had communicated beforehand. They never intended to merge their forces; the goal was simply to lure Castro out. To that end, they had each chosen a separate, high hilltop to make their stand.

This presented Castro with an opportunity to sweep the board and seize the entire Wisley Path.

Therefore, Castro launched an all-out assault, sending the majority of his soldiers toward the eastern mountain where Earl Uman was positioned.

After repelling yet another wave of attacks, Wulan finally couldn’t take it anymore.

"Brother, look at the time! It’s almost high noon. Is that Robson coming or not?"

"I hate to say it, but I feel like he’s using this as an opportunity to weaken you."

"Seriously, I normally wouldn’t mind, but the Clan Knights’ auras are nearly depleted. If this drags on any longer..."

"Shut up."

Suddenly, Earl Uman cut off Wulan’s rambling.

Wulan looked up, puzzled, and stared at Earl Uman in confusion.

Earl Uman, however, was looking toward the distant sky. A griffin was soaring high above.

"From now on, you will address him as Viscount Robertson. Understand?" Earl Uman said in a lecturing tone.

Castro felt the ground begin to tremble but thought nothing of it at first.

’The ground shaking is normal. After all, the sound of centaurs running is hardly any less than that of horses. With nearly two thousand centaurs on the field, how could the commotion be small?’

But it wasn’t until a commotion erupted from his rear ranks that Castro felt something was wrong.

’It’s true centaurs make a lot of noise, but... why is it getting louder and louder?’

"Look over there! What is that?"

Hearing the shouts from others in his army, Castro turned to look.

In the distance, a massive cloud of dust was rolling toward them. Judging by the direction, it had to be an army coming down from Wayne Moutain.

’Wayne Moutain? What’s happening? What is Dosa up to?’ Castro wondered, watching the distant commotion.

Soon, figures began to emerge from the cloud of dust.

In the lead was a tall Centaur, with another Centaur beside him. They were carrying several things on their backs, but it was impossible to see what they were.

Then, more Centaurs began to emerge from the dust cloud. They ran in a chaotic, disorderly fashion, with no discipline whatsoever, looking exactly like a defeated army.

"What is Dosa doing?" Castro frowned, speaking irritably. "Even if he’s coming to reinforce me, how could he let his troops get into such a state? And why did he bring so few men?"

That’s right—Castro recognized him at a glance. The one running at the very front was his other deputy, Dosa.

Centaurs all have distinct markings on their bodies, making them easy to identify.

As for the figures on their backs, however, Castro couldn’t make them out at all.

Castro’s confusion didn’t last long. Just after Dosa broke through the dust cloud with a few dozen Centaurs, the source of the dust revealed itself.

From within the rolling cloud, a large number of human cavalry suddenly charged out.

Castro nodded. That explained why Dosa had come with so few men—he was being driven here.

"Where did these humans come from? Why are there so many?!" Castro’s eyes went wide, his face paling in shock.

"Human cavalry? It’s human cavalry! That’s at least two Knight Orders!" his deputy exclaimed, his eyes wide with disbelief as he stared ahead.
