Chapter 285 - 51: Victory
Chapter 285: Chapter 51: Victory
Just as the gate was about to swing shut, Robson let out a furious roar. His Golden Tier aura flared, his Magical Beast Horse leaped into the air, and the Knight’s Spear in his hand erupted with a brilliant silver light.
"No! Stop him! Stop him now!"
Seeing Robson about to break through, Dosa instantly let go of the gate and bolted. As he ran, he ordered the soldiers around him to block the entrance.
’That aura! My senses aren’t mistaken! That’s a Golden Tier! In the entire Beastman Eastern Line Army, the only Golden Tier I’ve ever seen was the old Chieftain, Castro’s brother.’
’Are you kidding me? How could a mere Silver Fourth Tier like me possibly fight a Golden Tier?’
Robson thrust his spear, jamming it into the closing gate. A massive surge of strength traveled from his hands to the spear’s tip.
With a few powerful shakes, Robson forced the gate open with sheer brute force.
"Die!" Robson reined in his horse, eyeing the crowd of Beastmen closing in from all sides. He activated his Golden Magic God, and a vigorous torrent of Silver-White Fighting Qi erupted from his body.
Robson abandoned his spear for his sword. With a single sweep, he drove back the Beastmen who were trying to close in.
With a few flourishes of his blade, he dispatched all the guards at the entrance.
"Viscount, I’m here to help!"
It was Knight Commander Elon. Seeing Robson in a bloody battle at the camp entrance, he charged to the front, unleashing his Silver Sixth Tier power and clearing away the enemies to Robson’s right.
"Good! We’ll hold this gate!" Robson said to Knight Commander Elon behind him, his eyes on the endless stream of Centaur Warriors gathering before them.
"Understood!"
...
"For the kingdom! Charge!"
"For our Lord, for Frank! Charge!"
Finally, with Knight Commander Elon and Robson holding the line, the main forces of the Cavalry Team and the Fengman Knight Order arrived on the battlefield.
"Sir! Move aside! I’ll help you!" Claude roared, raising his Knight’s Spear.
Hearing the shout, Robson pulled his horse against the wall.
Claude’s figure flashed through the air, and he landed right in the middle of the enemy ranks.
Following right behind him was a relentless stream of charging cavalry.
Robson no longer held back, charging straight into the fray.
"Vick! Captain Vick is dead!"
"The human reinforcements are charging! Run!"
Finally, whether because of the death of a key figure or the sight of endless human reinforcements, the Beastman Army blocking the entrance began to crumble.
It started with two or three turning tail, and soon the entire force that had surrounded the gate began to flee.
Just then, a griffin appeared in the sky with a long cry—the signal Robson had arranged in advance.
This meant that the battle on Earl Uman’s side must have already begun.
"Charge! One Silver Coin for every Beastman killed!" Robson roared.
’As long as we charge quickly, break through this Beastman Camp, and reach Earl Uman’s battlefield, the initiative on the eastern front will be completely reversed. This whole grand stratagem for the Human Alliance Army will come alive!’
’Victory is at hand, I can’t worry about the cost now. As long as we win, I can always recoup the money later!’
"For the Lord! For the kingdom!"
"Charge!"
Hearing Robson’s promise, the cavalry’s enthusiasm surged.
"See that griffin in the sky? Break through this camp, then follow it! Understood?" Robson asked, looking at Claude and Elon.
"Understood!"
"Understood!"
...
The battle at Wayne Mountain did not last long. Ever since Dosa fled, the entire camp was left without a commander.
At first, they were able to hold Robson at the entrance under the command of their junior officers. But once that force broke, the entire defense collapsed.
After breaking through the Wayne Mountain camp, Robson wasted no more time. He had already arranged for Ais to come and secure the area.
"Everyone! In your squads, follow the griffin in the sky!"
"Centaurs and Gnolls—one Silver Coin per head! Charge!"
After the breakthrough, the Cavalry Team and the Fengman Knight Order were in disarray. Robson had no war drum, and even if he did, it couldn’t convey such a complex order. So, he channeled his Golden Tier Fighting Qi and broadcasted his voice across the entire camp.
While shouting was hardly proper etiquette, it got the job done.
Robson often spoke with his soldiers, so everyone recognized the voice of Lord Robson.
"For the kingdom! For the Lord!"
"For the kingdom! For Fengman!"
"Everyone! Charge with the Lord!"
"Fengman Knight Order! Charge with the Viscount!"
For a moment, the shouts of soldiers echoed from all corners of the Wayne Mountain camp.
Hearing them, Robson said no more and simply followed the griffin in the sky.
Soon, the Cavalry Team and the Fengman Knight Order finished regrouping—or rather, they never formally assembled.
In Robson’s army, even attacks were highly disciplined; they always moved in and out as squads.
Soon, a thunderous rumble echoed from Wayne Mountain as countless cavalry surged down its slopes. Robson’s Cavalry Team led the charge, but the Fengman Knights quickly took over as the main force.
It couldn’t be helped. The Fengman Knight Order rode true Magical Beast Horses, while Robson’s Cavalry Team was already on their second set of mounts. The endurance of ordinary horses was simply too poor. After a full night of hard riding, many were already exhausted, and Robson would have to nurse the remaining ones back to health later.
