Chapter 161: The Mysterious Lord
Chapter 161: The Mysterious Lord
Two Months ago
The night of the auction in the Underground Slave Market
~
In the depths of the Mystic Valley, a hidden cave was filled with so much spiritual energy that it was alluring all the spiritual beasts hidden within the valley. However, none of them dared to step inside the cave because of the presence of Demonic aura in there. It was such a terrifying and dominating Demonic aura as if the Demon Emperor himself was present inside the cave.
"Master, why there is so much disturbance today? Is something wrong with His Lorship?" A man in his early twenties asked another man who appeared to be in his mid to late fifties.
The old man remained silent for a while as he observed the Demonic energy cocoon that was hiding their lord in its protection. For some weird reason, there had been a sudden disturbance in the cocoon and he was unable to find out the reason. The Demonic aura was so strong that even he was unable to go any further closer to the cocoon.
"It’s hard to say what exactly is going on. His Lordship had been sleeping for decades ever since we made it into the Mortal Realm. This is the first time he has shown any kind of reaction. Let’s wait and observe." The old man finally spoke but he didn’t get the chance to wait at all as cracks suddenly started appearing on the cocoon.
"Master?" The younger man’s voice carried concern and shock, but there was nothing either he or his master could do to stop whatever was going on.
Within seconds, the cracks covered the cocoon completely, and the very next moment, it broke into little fragments. From inside the cocoon, a powerful Demonic primordial energy came out and immeditely escaped the cave.
The two men, who were left behind in the cave, stared at the broken and empty cocoon for a couple of seconds before their wide eyes turned toward each other. At the very same moment, they both cried out in alarm -
"His Lordship!"
"Let’s go and catch him before he gets lost in this vast Mortal Realm." The older man ordered and the two of them immediately rushed after their Lord who had left behind a trail of his energy. They followed him to the Black Market of the Mortal Realm where they encountered two really dangerous enemies, and amidst all the chaos, they lost track of their Lord.

Back to present day
~
Xiang Ling ended the classes for the day and walked out of the Main Hall where the classes were being conducted these days because of the continuous raining.
"Mei Mei, look at this piece. This is such an elegant and beautiful embroidery. I haven’t seen even the top embroidery shop in the city making such fine pieces. You really found a gem." Zuan Hu was unable to hold back from praising the young woman who had been diligently working on refining her embroidery skills along with a couple of new girls under her supervision.
For once, there was something Xiang Ling wasn’t good at - embroidery. Her skills were much better than what Zuan Hu assumed, but it was still not at par with her skills in cooking, medicines, business, and other such things. That’s why, she handed over the duty of teaching the girls embroidery to Zuan Hu who was much better at it compared to Xiang Ling.
"First sister-in-law, with you as their teacher, I’m sure all four of them will turn out to be real gems." Xiang Ling swiftly pushed all the credit to Zuan Hu who gave her a knowing look.
"By the way, Mei Mei, I have been wanting to ask you this for a while. Why are we teaching them embroidery?" Zuan Hu finally got the chance to ask the question she had been wanting to ask since she first found out that Xiang Ling was teaching a group of young children different skills.
"Is that not obvious enough? We will open a garment shop of our own." Xiang Ling answered with a little shrug of her shoulders.
"A garment shop?" Zuan Hu was surprised by the answer.
"En!" Xiang Ling gave a quick nod of her head. "Once these girls are ready, I will open a garment shop. Same goes for those who are learning medicines, cosmetics, jewelry making skills, pottery, and accounting. I have planned to open all these shops in the future."
Zuan Hu was too shocked to say anything for a couple of moments. Finally, she mustered out a question. "But why do you want to open so many shops all of a sudden?"
Xiang Ling smiled softly and took hold of Zuan Hu’s hands before she spoke. "So that I can repay for my past mistakes, First sister-in-law. It’s time that I should return everything that I took away from our family. These shops are just the beginning but not the only thing I’m going to return to you all. I will return the wealth, prosperity, peace, love, and fame, that I snatched away from the Chen family. Only then can I ask for our parents’ forgiveness."
Zuan Hu’s eyes suddenly welled up as she saw the genuineness in Xiang Ling’s eyes. Sniffing softly, she lightly gave a silly slap on the side of her sister-in-law’s head. "Silly girl. Why do you have to work so hard to ask for your parents’ forgiveness? You are their dearest daughter. They will forgive you the moment they will see your genuine remorse for your past actions. Don’t work too hard. Do you think your family cares about such superficial things? What they really care about is you."
Xiang Ling’s smile became bigger as she even shocked herself as she moved forward and engulfed her sister-in-law in a warm hug. Zuan Hu was also taken aback for a moment but she didn’t even took more than a few seconds before she too wrapped her arms around Xiang Ling and returned the hug.
"Thank you, First sister-in-law."
"No, Mei Mei. Thank you for returning our little Xiang Ling back to us."
