Journey To Become an Insanely Pampered Wife

Chapter 154: She Created a Mess

Chapter 154: She Created a Mess

Xiang Ling tried to walk away from the unnecessary drama but it was kind of hard as the goons were blocking the entire street in front of her. Listening to their words, it seemed like the one they were chasing was a slave who ran away from the Underground Slave Market.

One of them even went as far as to threaten - "If you dare to run again, I will break both your legs!"

"Look at how much of a good luck you have. There are hundreds of slaves out there who are living in misery, but you will be getting the chance to entertain and satisfy beauties. Why do you still want to run away?" Another one asked in confusion as if he was unable to understand why would any man want to pass on such a good chance.

Xiang Ling couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the poor Slave. However, she was in no position to interfere. If he was a slave from the Underground Slave Market, he already belonged to someone. Interfering in his business wouldn’t lead to anything good.

The mortal Chen Xiang Ling couldn’t go around saving everyone without attracting any problems to herself and the Chen family. On the other hand, as an Immortal, it was agianst Heavenly rules to interfere with mortal businesses. Either way, her hands were tied.

Letting out a small sigh, she decided to leave before she eneded up doing something stupid. She finally saw an opening and moved forward to walk past the group. However, it seemed like the destiny had some other plans for her.

She kept her eyes focused ahead and tried to ignore looking at anyone as she walked ahead, but she was soon stopped in her steps when someone suddenly grabbed the hem of her dress. Her gaze shifted downward and she finally got to see the slave who was still on the ground and clutching her dress tightly with his blood covered fingers.

Xiang Ling was unable to hold back the gasp that escaped her mouth as she took in the state of that young man who was beaten up so bad that he was covered in blood from top to bottom. His face was covered in cuts, bruises, and blood. His clothes were torn from places and covered in blood and dirt. His hands were bruised and wounded badly. There were signs of fresh wounds on his back as if someone had whipped him not too long ago.

After taking in the situation of his body, her eyes returned to his face and she found herself staring directly into a pair of dark eyes which were pleading with her to save him.

"P-please..."

His broken voice left through his chapped lips and he lightly tugged on her dress.

The sensible part of her still told her to ignore everything and walk away from there, but then there was that stupid part of her that couldn’t handle seeing someone being bullied like this.

Before she could have decided what to do, two goons dragged the man away from her and even hit him on the back when he tried to free himself. Another one of the men bowed to Xiang Ling and spoke, "Young Lady, please forgive this lowely slave. He got ahead of himself. But don’t you worry, he will be taught a lesson to make sure that such incidents don’t happen in future."

Xiang Ling took this moment to scan the group of men and noticed there were a total of seven of them and only two had cultivation powers. She then checked the street and noticed that since they were near the end of the street, not many people were there. Those few people who had been nearby previously, they all fled long ago when they saw the group of goons.

"Young Lady, you must be getting late." The man tried to remind her that she needed to leave.

Xiang Ling didn’t reply, nor did she move. She took another glance toward the slave who was on the verge of passing out but was trying his best to hold himself up.

"Young Lady."

The time, the man’s voice carried a clear warning.

Xiang Ling didn’t waste any more time as she called out her spiritual powers and aimed a powerful force at the three men closest to her. The force sent them flying and they landed on the ground a little bit away from them.

Realizing her intentions, the other men charged at her but she easily took care of them. Instead of using her powers, she used her combat skills to handle the rest of the men. Within minutes, all seven men were groaning on the ground.

She grabbed the arm of the slave and immeditely teleported away. The two of them appeared on the very spot where Xin Cheng and Dao Ming had left her and a sigh of relief escaped Xiang Ling when she saw the two men there waiting for her.

"What’s going on?" Dao Ming asked as soon as he noticed her.

"Who’s he?" Xin Cheng asked at the same time as he noticed the man she was holding closely.

"We don’t have time. We need to leave. Now!" The urgency must have been pretty clear in her voice because neither the men asked any more question and immendiately grabbed her hands. The very next second, the teleportation spell washed over her and they appeared inside the carriage.

Xiang Ling quickly peeked outside the carriage through the window and noticed the familiar road leading to Dongzhi City. Another sigh of relief escaped her lips and she turned her attention toward the three men in the carriage.

"What’s going on, Xiang Ling?" Xin Cheng’s voice was sharp as he asked the question.

Not left with any option, she told them everything that happened and the men only looked at her as if she was beyond stupid. "I did what I thought was right thing to do." She defened herself.

"The right thing was to ignore this man and leave that place!" Dao Ming corrected her while he struggled to control his anger.

"Did you take proper care of those men?" Xin Cheng asked and when Xiang Ling shook her head in negative, he seemed ready to throw her out of the carriage. The very next moment, he disappeared from the carrige.

"Where has he gone?"

"To clean the mess you have created."
