Chapter 128: The Good-looking Guy & The Grumpy Man
Chapter 128: The Good-looking Guy & The Grumpy Man
Xiang Ling stretched her arms and spine to get rid of the stiffness in her body. She had been working for the entire noon as she taught her newly selected students. It was quite late in the afternoon and she decided to go and search for the two men who had still not returned to the manor.
After thinking for a while, she only thought of one place to look for them. Casting a spell to lock her room, she immediately teleported away, and a moment later, appeared at the location of her future Inn.
The moment her gaze landed on the sight in front of her, she was left in shock. It had been merely half a month since she last saw the barren lands that she bought, but that place was now covered in buildings that were rapidly on their way to completion. The structure looked just as good as she wanted and imagined.
She stepped through the huge entrance of the Inn which had a bamboo canopy in cross-cross design. She had planned to grow ivy on either side of the gate and cover the bamboo canopy with them.
On her left was the first building which was almost at the last stage of its construction. The ground floor of this building had three guest rooms, a common sitting area, and bath chambers. The first floor had a total of seven guest rooms, and the second floor was divided into a kitchen, a joined dining area, and an open deck. The third and final floor only had one room which was the biggest room in the entire building, joining it was another open terrace. Xiang Ling was planning to grow a Sakura tree at the back of this building.
On her right was a two-storey building with only guest rooms and bath chambers in it. Next to this building was an empty space where Xiang Ling was planning to create a garden that would separate it from the last building on her right. The third and final floor of this building was still under construction.
Next came a huge open courtyard with a wall on her right and another building on her left. On the other side of the courtyard, she was able to see the construction work that seemed to have started recently. The building that was about to be constructed there was the biggest building in the entire Inn with a total of seven floors and a tower with nine floors.
The more she looked at the structure around her, the more creative ideas kept filling her brain on how to make her Inn one of its kind in the entire Mortal Realm.
She noticed a Moon Gate built on the wall on her right and walked toward it. Stepping through it, her gaze was met with the second section of her inn, which would need a lot of hard work on her part. This was the land where she was planning to build a vegetable greenhouse and open a poultry farm.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?"
The unfamiliar voice pulled Xiang Ling out of her thoughts and she turned to find a quite good-looking man in his mid-twenties staring at her. The moment his gaze landed on her, he seemed awestruck for a moment before he quickly pulled himself together and kept his suspicious gaze focused on her.
"I..." Xiang Ling opened her mouth to speak but didn’t get the chance to say anything as another man joined them and he looked furious to see her there compared to the first man’s suspicion.
"This is a private property. Not anyone can step inside this place. Wait for the Inn to officially open if you want to come here. Now, get lost before we throw you out." The warning was way clear in his tone and if Xiang Ling had been indeed a mortal, she would have been scared to death by the harsh look in his eyes and the threat in his words.
"Who are you? Leader of the laborers working here?" Xiang Ling asked instead as she folded her arms across her chest and stared at the two men who seemed surprised to see her calm demeanor.
"Woman-" The second man tried to say something in his harsh tone but the good-looking one stopped him with a little shake of his head. He first glared at the latter for a second before letting out a scoff and became silent.
Only then did the good-looking guy turn toward Xiang Ling and spoke, "Young Lady, please leave this place immediately. As you have already been told, this is a private property. Please don’t make things hard for us."
A smile made its way to Xiang Ling’s lips and she responded, "You are much better at this compared to your friend there." Her words received another scoff from the grumpy man.
Ignoring that other man, Xiang Ling kept her attention focused on the good-looking one and proposed, "How about this? You tell me your name and take me to meet your Master. I will put in an extra good word for you so that you can get a promotion and an increase in your salary."
"How ridiculous! If you want to waste time, go and find someone else. We are not as free as you." The grumpy man spoke again and he was not even trying to hide his disdain toward her which made Xiang Ling wonder why he was so sour toward her.
"Who is wasting time?"
The familiar voice entered Xiang Ling’s ears and made her look in the direction of the Moon Gate from where stepped in a very handsome man who was dressed in all black.
"My Lord, you are here. You should teach this stupid woman a lesson. She has been talking nonsense and refused to leave this place despite our warning." The grumpy man was immediately beside the newcomer, all the while complaining about Xiang Ling.
"Teach me a lesson? I wonder how?"
