Chapter 111: Inviting Hot Men To Share Her Room
To say that the situation in the Lin Family’s Village was even worse than the worst would have been an understatement. Almost eighty-five percent of the village was infected by the disease and those who were still safe were in such poor health conditions because of the lack of proper food and water.
Since all the water wells throughout the Lin Family’s Village were infected by the Demonic Poison, the villagers no longer had their own source of water. The poison had also infected the crops, vegetables, and domestic animals, leaving the village and the villagers in a very dire condition.
Though the Local Magistrate gave the order to the neighboring village to provide the Lin Family’s Village with water and food for the time being, people were scared to come anywhere near the Lin Family’s Village. The food and water supplies arrived only once every two to three days.
"This wouldn’t do. The situation is so bad that the entire village would end up dead within a few more weeks." Xiang Ling was unable to hold back her anger once they all were done surveying the village and checking the conditions of several of the families.
"We don’t have any time to waste. We have to start working as soon as possible. What are you planning to do first?" Li Xian directed his question toward Xiang Ling. The expectant gazes of all three of them - Li Xian, Zhe Yuan, and Fairy Liying, made Xiang Ling realize that she had become their leader for the time being without even noticing it.
"Just like I mentioned to Liying before, we will need to divide the villagers into different groups based on their conditions. Just like how we did back in the Shengdu Village." She told the two men who immediately understood what she was talking about and why. Dividing the villagers in such a way would make it easier for them to cure their illnesses.
"Liying, how many Inns are there in this village?" Xiang Ling asked as she didn’t pay any attention on her way around the village.
"Since this is a small village, there are only three Inns here. One is occupied by us, another one is currently occupied by the disciples of the two sects. This leaves only the third one." Liying answered.
Xiang Ling stayed silent for a moment or two before she spoke again, her words directed at Liying. "I want you to make a deal with the disciples of the two sects and make them move into our Inn. This will leave us with two Inns that can be used as makeshift health centers for the time being."
Liying immediately nodded her head as she accepted the task. "Don’t worry. Consider this done. I have already met with those disciples a couple of times before. It will not be too much of a hassle to make them shift into our Inn. But..."
"What is it?" Xiang Ling asked.
"But our Inn might not have enough rooms since we are already occupying four of them," Liying revealed the problem.
Xiang Ling was once again silent as she tried to think of a solution. A moment later, she turned her attention toward the two men and spoke, "You two should go and shift your belongings into my room. We will share one room since the situation calls for it."
She didn’t wait to hear the response of either the men and hurriedly turned her attention toward a very intrigued-looking Liying. Keeping her voice as low as possible, she whispered to the Fairy, "You go and find yourself either a room to share or another place to live."
Once she was done speaking, it was not just Li Xian and Zhe Yuan gawking at her departing back in shock as Fairy Liying was also carrying a similar sort of expression on her face.
Xiang Ling tried her best to not ponder on the fact that she just invited two very hot and handsome men to share her room. That was an issue for later, she had other important matters to handle for the time being.
She headed straight to the third Inn after asking about its location from a villager who looked to have recently caught the disease. Once she reached the Inn, it took her barely any time to convince the owner as the old woman readily allowed her to use the Inn as a makeshift health center.
"What’s the use of this Inn if we all are going to lose our lives? All I want now is for this plague to disappear from our lives and our village as if it was nothing but a passing nightmare." The old woman was on the verge of tears as she spoke.
Xiang Ling took a moment to check the pulse of the old woman and found out that she too had recently come in contact with the disease. Taking out a pill from her space, she asked the woman to take it. While the woman looked hesitant at first, she eventually took the pill and moved out of the Inn to wait in the garden outside as per Xiang Ling’s request.
Once left alone, Xiang Ling used a spell to clean the entire Inn, but she didn’t stop there. They needed lots of bedding for the patients, and for that, she used a very powerful spell. The spell of creating items out of nothing was one of the most powerful spells and what kind of reaction its usage would leave on its user depended on what kind of item the user was creating.
While Xiang Ling didn’t create anything extraordinary with the spell, just the beddings, the spell still left a strong after-effect on her because she was using it through a mortal body.
She thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and made sure that all the utensils were clean. She found several five-foot-tall cauldrons sitting in the back of the Inn and cleaned them thoroughly as well before filling them with fresh water from her spring. Finally, she placed a double-layer ward around the Inn as a last layer of protection.
