Journey To Become an Insanely Pampered Wife

Chapter 105: Not Even Wei Guang

Chapter 105: Not Even Wei Guang

"Can I help you? Yes. But am I going to help you? Unfortunately, no. I have no time to help someone else when I’m struggling to help myself. You should find some good physician to help you deal with the plague." Xiang Ling tried to politely reject. No matter, how much she sympathized with the villagers, she was in no place to intervene. She already had more than enough problems on her plate to handle.

"Xingxing..."

"I’m sorry for disappointing you, Fairy Liying, but-"

"What if there’s something valuable for you in return for your help?" Fairy Liying quickly proposed, making Xiang Ling pause for a moment before she quickly shook her head in negative. "I will still decline."

"What if I have some secret information regarding the fake play of your punishment?" Fairy Liying finally used her final but rarest card, being fully aware that this one would work for sure, and it did work as she immediately had all of Xiang Ling’s attention.

"Fake play of punishment?" Xiang Ling asked, not understanding how to interpret the fairy’s words.

A satisfactory smile covered Fairy Liying’s lips as she replied, "You know that being a Flower Fairy, I belong to the Spirit Flower Clan. I was in close-door cultivation for the past ten years, hence all the chaos in the area under my supervision. I only came out of my closed-door cultivation just a few days ago and when I was on my way to pay my respects to Supreme Flower Immortal, I accidentally heard the conversation between her and the Heavenly Empress about the night of your Heavenly tribulation and Crown Prince’s Nirvana."

Xiang Ling closely observed Fairy Liying and could tell that the woman indeed knew something serious about what happened that eventful night. Considering the fact that the current Heavenly Empress and the Supreme Immortal of the Flower Clan were sisters, it wasn’t unusual for the former to visit the latter.

"And?" She pressed for more information even though she knew that she wouldn’t be getting any.

"And... I’ll tell you the rest when you finish your part of the deal. All I can tell is that you have been kept in the dark about something very serious." Fairy Liying wasn’t initially planning to use such a method to force Immortal Xing to help her. However, she was in such a bad situation that she ended up blackmailing her only friend. She felt really bad in her heart and decided to investigate further the secrets behind the play that was very carefully laid out by the Heavenly Empress.

Xiang Ling remained silent for a while as she contemplated her options. In the end, the choice was pretty clear. Since being in the Mortal Realm, she couldn’t investigate the situation on her own, she needed someone else to provide her with as much information as possible about what was going on in the Upper Realms behind her back.

"Fine. I will help but I need you to tell me everything you know as soon as I will finish." She finally succumbed to help.

"Deal. I will even investigate this matter further to find out as much as possible. You take care of the Lin Family’s Village and leave this matter to me." Fairy Liying eagerly agreed.

Xiang Ling nodded her head before she added, "Let me make some preparations first. I will probably leave this coming morning. Meet me in the Lin Family’s Village tomorrow."

Once they had discussed a few more details, Xiang Ling returned to the Manor and headed toward the Main Hall. Since she would be leaving the next morning and there was no telling for how many days she would be gone, she needed to make a lot of preparations - both for her journey and the Chen Manor in her absence.

"Fu Xiao, ask the coachman to get the carriage and the horse ready. I will be leaving the manor tomorrow morning for the Lin Family’s Village." She ordered the woman as soon as she started listing down all the important matters that needed to be taken care of.

"Lin Family’s Village? Why are you going there, My Lady?" Fu Xiao asked as she was surprised to see her lady working so hastily.

"There’s something I need to do there. You make sure to inform the coachman." Xiang Ling reminded the woman who quickly nodded her head. "Also, call everyone here. I need to announce some important matters."

Fu Xiao hurriedly left and within the next ten minutes, everyone except for Li Dao Ming was present in the Main Hall. Her husbands took their seats while the servants stood in proper lines as they waited for Xiang Ling to speak.

"Tomorrow morning, I will be leaving the Manor for a while. I can be gone for a few days or weeks. In my absence, you all will work under Master Wei’s supervision." Xiang Ling announced and while the servants accepted her order without any questions or conflicts, the same couldn’t be said about Wei Guang who was completely taken aback by the announcement. Yet, he didn’t say anything in front of the servants.

Xiang Ling announced some important tasks she had drafted for the servants to finish in the upcoming days before she dismissed them. Once the servants left, there was only her and the four Young Masters left behind in the Main Hall.

"Where are you suddenly going?" Zhe Yuan asked as he trained his questioning gaze on her.

Letting out a small sigh, Xiang Ling told them as much as she could. "A plague has broken out in the Lin Family’s Village and I have planned to go there and help the villagers since I know a little bit about medicines."

Turning her gaze toward Wei Guang, she continued, "I want you to look after the Manor in my absence. I hope I’m not asking for too much."

Shaking his head, Wei Guang replied, "You are not. I will not disappoint you."

Surprisingly, none of the men questioned her any further or even tried to stop her. Not even Wei Guang.
