Chapter 104: Fairy Liying
"Really?" Xiang Ling was unable to contain her happiness as the man finally agreed to help her. Cupping his face between her palms, she added, "I knew you would help." And then, she placed a soft kiss on his cheek, shocking the very life out of Xin Cheng who was rooted on his spot with a stunned expression decorating his face.
"I will wait for the good news." She stated before she turned around and without another glance at the man, headed out of the room. A big smile of satisfaction was decorating her lips as she made her way out of the courtyard.
On the other hand, it took quite some time for Xin Cheng to collect himself together. Clearing his throat, he returned to his usual calm and cold persona. With a little click of his fingers, a man appeared inside the chamber out of thin air.
"My Lord." The man greeted Xin Cheng with a deep bow.
"Go and buy the land she wants." Xin Cheng ordered the man who immediately accepted the task. However, before leaving, the man asked, "My Lord, the deed...?"
Xin Cheng let out a small sigh and answered, "Put it under her name."
"Yes, My Lord." The man bowed again respectfully before he vanished from the chamber just as quickly as he appeared.

Xiang Ling was near the back door of the Manor when her attention was picked by a certain bird that was chirping loudly while sitting on a stone pillar nearby.
As she focused her gaze on the bird, she found its light yellow and white appearance quite familiar. But once she noticed the dark green mark on one of its wings, she was certain that she wasn’t mistaken about the bird’s identity.
"Isn’t that-"
Before she could have finished speaking, the bird suddenly took off and started flying away. Shocked, Xiang Ling quickly followed behind it. The bird led her out of the Manor through the back door and across the greenhouse until they reached the outskirts of the woods.
Xiang Ling stopped chasing the bird any further and just took her time looking around the area. She was more than sure that she had just been lured into a trap. Stepping into the woods, she headed in the direction where she was feeling the presence of the familiar divine energy.
After walking for a while, she found an old willow tree, and sitting on one of the lower branches was a very familiar woman. Folding her arms across her chest, Xiang Ling looked up at the woman and asked, "What are you doing here? And why have you lured me here?"
The woman looked down at Xiang Ling and a beautiful smile took over her lips, illuminating her entire face in the process. "Xingxing, you are finally here!"
With one swift move, the woman landed on the ground and made her way toward Xiang Ling. Once she was close enough to touch, she immediately threw her arms around Xiang Ling and hugged her tightly. "It’s so good to finally see you after such a long time, Xingxing."
Xiang Ling struggled for a moment and eventually succeeded in getting out of the woman’s clutches. "Fairy Liying." She greeted the woman with a small smile.
"Don’t be so formal Xingxing. We have known each other for long enough to let go of such unnecessary formalities." Fairy Liying said while taking hold of one of Xiang Ling’s hands.
Pulling her hand out of the woman’s hold, Xiang Ling replied, "For merely two hundred years, and even then, we met only two times by coincidence." She reminded the woman politely that the two of them were not close friends. Scratch that, they barely knew each other.
However, Fairy Liying’s thought process was completely different from Xiang Ling’s. "Oh! You are right. It has already been two centuries since we became friends. Time surely flies by quickly."
Xiang Ling gave the woman a tight smile and repeated her questions - "You didn’t tell me why you are here."
The expression on Fairy Liying’s face became serious and with a solemn look, she replied, "Xingxing, I need your help so badly. Please help me out this time or I’ll be punished by that old Earth Immortal. He’s already quite mad at me these days."
Xiang Ling frowned at the woman’s words and was about to reject the request. However, it seemed like Fairy Liying saw through her expression and quickly took hold of her hand once again and started swinging it from left to right. "Xingxing, please don’t refuse. You are the only person who can help me out in this situation."
"I’m going through my life tribulation. I can’t help you with anything. Most importantly, you shouldn’t have come here to meet me in the first place." Xiang Ling finally spoke.
"The fact that you recognized my messenger bird and me is more than enough for me to know that I can meet you. Since you possess your immortal memories, it’s not against the rules for me to meet you. Besides, I’m not asking you to do anything against the rules. What I want you to help me with doesn’t break any of the Heavenly rules. Please agree, Xingxing."
Not left with much of an option, Xiang Ling finally succumbed. "Tell me the problem first. I will decide later whether should I be able to help or not."
Fairy Liying was more than eager and quickly spoke - "Have you heard of the Lin Family’s Village?"
Xiang Ling found the name of the place familiar and after thinking for a while, she was finally able to recall it. "I have. It’s one of the villages located at the eastern border of Nanxia County. What about this place?"
Fairy Liying let out a small sigh before she revealed, "Two weeks ago, a sudden plague spread throughout the village, making the villagers extremely ill. Till now, several have lost their lives. The situation is getting worse and I’m tasked to handle the situation. However, you know that I know nothing about medicines. That’s why I need someone who knows medicines like the back of their hand, and you are that person, Xingxing."
