Chapter 48: A Bit Interesting?
Chapter 48: Chapter 48: A Bit Interesting?
Yang Bo felt like he could barely hold on. He wondered if the increased constitution from absorbing so many cattle would cause him to explode.
The cattle gradually gathered. Looking closely down into the Celestial Pit, the vegetation wasn’t short, but the grass on the ground had clearly been eaten clean.
"They’re probably migrating to another location. Could these cattle be one of the Mutants’ food sources?" Yang Bo guessed.
There were now over twenty Mutants carrying Mecha parts. The parts each guy carried were not light; the lightest was at least a few tons.
It wasn’t that Yang Bo was afraid of Mutants. These guys were only fit to scurry around underground. Let them try showing their faces above ground!
Seeing a portion of the cattle already entering a huge tunnel on the other side of the Celestial Pit, Yang Bo couldn’t hold back anymore.
Setting the Mecha Space Button aside, Yang Bo decided to take a gamble. Last time he recovered using electricity; this time, he would use the Homogeneous Energy Stone in the Mecha Space Button. It was a flip of the coin between Heaven and Hell!
Mainly, his situation in reality wasn’t very optimistic, and an opportunity like this would probably be hard to come by again.
Someone like Yang Bo still essentially had the mindset of a nobody. Big shots were generally very calm and rarely took such risks. But when a nobody’s blood boiled, they were capable of anything. It couldn’t be helped; a nobody had nothing else but their willingness to risk their life!
His Rocket Backpack suddenly flared to life, and Yang Bo’s Mecha shot out from the mountainside. If not for his Dynamic Field of View, an ordinary person wouldn’t even be able to see the scene ahead clearly at the Mecha’s explosive speed.
The explosive sound of the Rocket Backpack alerted the Mutants. Looking back, they saw four Hydrogen Bombs flying straight toward them.
"ROAR!" One of the three-meter-tall Mutants swung a Mecha arm directly at the Hydrogen Bombs, while the rest also hurled the Mecha parts in their hands.
BOOM! The first Hydrogen Bomb exploded violently the moment it touched the Mecha arm.
A massive Energy Shock Wave instantly erupted, blowing away the dozen or so Mutants who had just leaped up, sending them flying backward through the air.
By this time, the other three Hydrogen Bombs had already fallen into the herd of cattle.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
This was the Mutants’ misjudgment; Yang Bo’s actual target was the cattle inside the Celestial Pit.
Charge +1!
Charge +1! ...
Yang Bo grabbed the Mecha Space Button with his right hand. The violent Energy of the Energy Stone rapidly surged into his body, making him feel as though his blood was boiling.
He violently pushed the left control stick, flying straight up into the sky while shouting provocatively, "Idiots! You bunch of mongrels!"
"ROAR!" Because some animal genes in their DNA had manifested physically, Mutants hated being called mongrels more than anything else. The group of Mutants leaped into the air.
However, these Mutants overlooked one thing: the powerful shock waves generated by the four Miniature Hydrogen Bombs had blown the mist out of the Celestial Pit.
The Energy impact from the Miniature Hydrogen Bomb explosions was captured by the Rail Cannon tens of thousands of kilometers up in the atmosphere. Once the group of Mutants launched themselves into the air, the Rail Cannon fired blinding beams of light.
Clinging tightly to the rock wall of the Celestial Pit, Yang Bo shuddered as he watched the bucket-thick Lasers. He had been blown up by Rail Cannons twice, but this was the first time he had truly seen one in action.
"Badass," he muttered. The High-Frequency Laser Gun he saw at the Dome Concert only fired tiny Lasers. This thing was as thick as a bucket.
The Mutants were instantly vaporized into ash.
In reality, Yang Bo was drenched in sweat. The violent Energy inside his body just now had left him feeling entirely immobilized, even if only for a very brief moment.
Now, he felt like a volcano was simmering inside him, containing terrifying Power.
Mecha Maintenance +16!
Mecha Maintenance +16!
Mecha Maintenance +32!
Mecha Maintenance +8!
...
Yang Bo was dumbfounded. Did these fucking Mutants actually know Mecha Maintenance?
"Could it be that I can’t use these Mutants’ Superpowers?" he wondered. "Just like the Red Earl’s men I killed at the Dome Concert—it’s impossible they didn’t have Superpowers, yet all I got was Warship Maintenance and Warship Pilot. Does that mean acquiring Superpowers depends on individual compatibility?" After mulling it over carefully, Yang Bo formed a rough theory. However, he couldn’t be entirely sure; after all, his own ability was rather bizarre.
"ROAR!"
"ROAR!" Inside the caves on the opposite side of the Celestial Pit, there were still quite a few Mutants roaring at Yang Bo, but none of them dared to step out.
Right at that moment, several Air-Ground Combat Aircraft roared onto the scene, firing missile after missile at the roaring Mutants. Terrified, the Mutants immediately scrambled to flee.
Seeing the Air-Ground Combat Aircraft arrive, Yang Bo breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly went down to scavenge for loot.
The Mutants had dismantled the Mechas. The parts weren’t worth much, but the Mechas’ melee Weapons were likely valuable. Unfortunately, some of them had been hit by the Laser Cannon.
The commanders at Base 16 were left speechless. Every time this Blade Mecha went out, it caused trouble. This time, the Orbital Laser Cannon had killed over thirty Mutants, including a suspected leader who had managed to hold out for 0.5 seconds against it. Furthermore, the missiles from just now had also struck their target, destroying one of the Mutants’ underground tunnels.

Sound Wave Control +1!
...
Yang Bo watched as the Air-Ground Combat Aircraft continuously launched missiles into the underground tunnels where the Mutants had just been clamoring. Some of these missiles penetrated deep into the subterranean space before detonating, causing the underground tunnels to collapse endlessly.
"How are these kills being credited to me?" Yang Bo wondered. "Could it be the initial damage caused by the shock waves of the Hydrogen Bombs?" Carrying a few Mecha Weapons, he flew out of the Celestial Pit, only then realizing that it was over two thousand meters deep. Because it was usually shrouded in mist, it had remained undiscovered.
Having ordered the Mecha to return to the base on its own, Yang Bo just watched. The Mecha could travel by itself, provided there was no interference.
Somewhere underground, the Tiger-faced King shuddered as he felt the tremors in the earth.
"Could this bastard be the jinx of legend that people spoke of in ancient times?" he muttered.
"That son of a bitch. Men—" Just as the Tiger-faced King was about to cancel the bounty, a sudden thought struck him. Since this guy was a jinx, couldn’t he use this jinx to torment that annoying neighbor of his?
"Men, issue a bounty!" the Tiger-faced King commanded. "Whoever kills this bastard will be rewarded with a Fire Energy Stone Mine by me, the Tiger-faced King. This applies to anyone!" This jinx had already cost him two War Generals, so there was definitely something extraordinary about him. Certain folks had been coveting his Energy Stone Mines for a long time anyway... Heh heh.
"What? Mecha Weapons aren’t worth anything?" Yang Bo had thought he’d scored some valuable loot, only to find out this stuff was worthless.
"That’s correct, dear player. The Weapons for each Mecha are made as a matching set, unless you intend to custom-build a Mecha specifically around these Weapons." The response he received left Yang Bo somewhat speechless.
"What about ranged Weapons?"
"Those won’t work either. The activated Weapons of a Mecha can only be used by that specific Mecha itself; other Mechas cannot use them."
"How embarrassing!" Yang Bo felt that the guys on the forums were probably going to give him another nickname.
