Chapter 156 - 122: I Thought You Were Like My Older Sister
Chapter 156: Chapter 122: I Thought You Were Like My Older Sister
An hour and a half later, a tired Xiao Juzi tiptoed to his mommy’s side. He put a finger to his lips, shushing the First Generation unit behind him, and whispered in a tiny, babyish voice:
"Shhh, Mommy’s asleep! We have to be quiet~"
First Generation brought over a blanket and gently draped it over Shu Yao, who had fallen asleep slumped on the sofa.
Xiao Juzi stood quietly by his mommy’s side for a moment, then suddenly realized how quiet it was.
Unused to the silence, he glanced around.
This place was just as big as his own home, yet it felt empty.
Xiao Juzi looked up and asked, "When the big meanie is gone, are you all alone here?"
First Generation pondered the Little Master’s words for a moment before refuting the first part of his sentence. "The Master is not a ’big meanie.’"
"Yes, he is!" Xiao Juzi wrinkled his nose, then said to First Generation, "Next time you’re home alone, you can come next door and play with me."
"I cannot go anywhere without the Master’s permission," First Generation said.
"See? I told you he’s a big meanie!" Xiao Juzi said with a self-righteous air. "My mommy isn’t like that! Whenever I want to go somewhere, I just tell her, and she always takes me~"
First Generation fell into thought again.
"I am not the same as you, Little Master. I am not the Master’s child..." Noticing Xiao Juzi’s gaze turning sympathetic, it was quite puzzled. "Why are you looking at me like that, Little Master?"
"I thought you were like my sister." Xiao Juzi suddenly sniffled sadly. "I kind of miss her..."
First Generation was very confused.
It didn’t know who the Little Master was talking about.
But it very much wanted to know.
’The Little Master’s sister...’
’Could it be that Madam has another, older child?’
’Or perhaps the Little Master’s twin sister?’
Xiao Juzi’s tail suddenly shot up in alarm, and he pricked his ears, looking toward the door.
’Someone’s back!’
’It’s the big meanie’s scent!’
First Generation walked into the courtyard and bowed slightly to the man stepping out of the Flying Machine.
"Welcome back, Master."
Qin Shiwei also sensed the furry child’s presence. He immediately took out his disguise device and put it on. In just five seconds, his features transformed into Ah Bao’s unremarkable face.
A pair of dark green eyes radiated a sharp, intimidating aura.
The tiny Xiao Juzi stood defiantly at the door, cheeks puffed out, glaring fiercely to warn him not to come any closer.
It was as if he’d forgotten whose house this was.
Qin Shiwei strode past him. When he saw Shu Yao sleeping soundly, nestled in the sofa, his gaze softened.
Xiao Juzi darted over to the side of the sofa, trying to block the man’s view with his small body. His little eyes glared daggers, as if to say:
"I’m warning you, don’t you get any ideas about my mommy!"
Qin Shiwei typed out a message and had his Light Brain play it aloud.
"So we don’t wake your mommy, how about we call a temporary truce?"
Xiao Juzi nodded in agreement but remained wary of him. He waved his little hands, drawing a circle on the ground to indicate that the area was his and his mommy’s territory, then waved again, gesturing for him to stay put and not approach.
Seeing his endearing antics, the corners of Qin Shiwei’s eyes crinkled with a hint of a smile.
First Generation thoughtfully lowered its voice. "Little Master, the Madam will catch a cold if she sleeps here."
’What should I do? Xiao Juzi doesn’t want Mommy to get sick!’
While he was lost in thought, Qin Shiwei approached. "I’m going to carry your mommy to bed. Do you mind?"
Xiao Juzi huffed. "If I were a grown-up, you wouldn’t be the one doing this~"
’So that’s a yes.’
Qin Shiwei lifted Shu Yao into his arms.
The woman in his arms suddenly opened her eyes and gave him a playful wink.
So she had been pretending to be asleep.
Qin Shiwei’s expression didn’t change as he carried her toward the bedroom.
The bed in the man’s bedroom was large and soft, and it looked like it had hardly been slept in.
Xiao Juzi climbed up, snuggled in comfortably, and in no time, he was fast asleep beside his mommy.
Qin Shiwei pushed him to the side.
’This furry kid is really in the way.’
"He’s asleep," the man said, taking off the disguise device.
In other words, ’You can wake up now.’
Shu Yao opened her eyes and saw the little guy sleeping soundly in a corner of the bed. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
She rolled over very lightly and made a little ’let’s bolt’ gesture to the man with two fingers. Just as she was about to get out of bed, he suddenly swept her up in a princess carry.
Shu Yao’s fragrant lips brushed against his ear, her breath a warm whisper. "I brought you something to eat."
Qin Shiwei carried her out of the room with no intention of letting go.
"The things you made on your stream today?"
Shu Yao’s eyes lit up. "You watched my stream?"
Qin Shiwei put on a reluctant look. "I was forced to."
Shu Yao pinched his handsome chin. "Is my stream really that bad?"
"Too many people." An image of the dense, overlapping bullet comments in the stream flashed through his mind, and Qin Shiwei suddenly felt a bit annoyed. But after a few more pinches, his mood shifted, and his eyes met her dark ones with pleasure. "The customer service rep who contacted you today was the Empress."
A spicy one, that Yudola.
Shu Yao wasn’t surprised. "I had a feeling at the time."
But she didn’t call her out on it.
She raised an eyebrow and asked, "So when she looked for Mrs. Bao, did she get your permission beforehand?"
Qin Shiwei was noncommittal. "She wouldn’t dare approach you privately without my permission."
’If the Empress hadn’t offered some special benefits, he wouldn’t have agreed.’
But when he discovered the Empress was just using it as a gimmick to make his wife work her butt off for the Imperial Court Company, he grew angry.
But before he could blow up, his wife had already shut the Empress down.
’Have to give it to my wife,’ he thought. ’Well played!’
Shu Yao’s voice turned syrupy sweet. "You’re so amazing~"
Being praised by his wife gave the man’s ego an immense boost of satisfaction.
Qin Shiwei said, "I need to test your spiritual power."
The smile in Shu Yao’s eyes turned mischievous, and her voice became sultry. "And how are you going to test it?"
Qin Shiwei carried her into a specially built chamber.
The chamber door slid shut behind them.
First Generation appeared silently, gazing deeply at Xiao Juzi, who they had left behind. It was as if it wanted to firmly etch the Little Master’s image into its memory.
Two seconds later, it retracted its mechanical eyes and gently closed the bedroom door.
