I Married a Commander and Became a Galaxy Star

Chapter 155 - 122: I Thought You Were Like My Sister

Chapter 155: Chapter 122: I Thought You Were Like My Sister

After the taste-testing segment, Shu Yao ended the stream despite her fans’ disappointed pleas for her to stay.

She prepared a meal and put it in a thermal container. As she was heading out with it, Xiao Juzi stopped her.

"Mom, where are you going? Are you going to the hospital to see Aunt Yunyun?"

’But it doesn’t feel like it.’

’Aunt Yunyun’s nephew is still here. Why aren’t we going together?’

Shu Yao didn’t hide it from him. She pointed next door and said, "I’m going to bring your dad something to eat."

When Xiao Juzi heard this, he grew very unhappy. He grabbed the leg of her pants and tried to drag her back inside.

"Mom, you can’t go!"

’He didn’t want his mom to see that annoying guy!’

Shu Yao couldn’t understand why this little rascal had such a problem with his own father.

Not that she didn’t have her ways.

"Well, if you come with Mom to bring Dad his food, I’ll secretly take you to my school to play tomorrow."

Xiao Juzi’s bright, dark eyes showed his inner conflict. He’d wanted to go to school with his mom for ages!

’It’s just bringing food to the annoying guy, not giving Mom to him!’

"Then it’s a deal!" Xiao Juzi said, hooking his little finger. "Pinky swear~"

Shu Yao perfunctorily hooked her finger with his and cheekily added a condition: "If you can get up tomorrow morning, I’ll take you."

’To go to school with Mom, I have to get up early!’

Shu Yao took Xiao Juzi next door and used her access credentials to open the electronic gate.

The robot butler didn’t appear.

The yard was pitch-black. Aided by the lights from the Shu Family’s house, they could vaguely see a lone house standing in the darkness.

The last time, when Shu Yao still didn’t know who lived next door, she had complained to Qin Shiwei that her neighbor had no sense of energy conservation. It seemed that ever since then, the lights over here were never on at night.

When she said to conserve energy, this wasn’t quite what she meant.

Xiao Juzi scanned his surroundings but didn’t sense any sign of life.

’Good, the annoying guy isn’t here.’

"Mom, let’s go back!"

"If we don’t see Dad, that’s too bad. It means you can’t come to school with me tomorrow."

Xiao Juzi gritted his teeth.

’He really didn’t want to stay in this pitch-dark place for a second longer. But for the sake of going to Mom’s school, he would endure it!’

Suddenly, a light flickered on at the entrance of the previously dark house.

The robot butler, [First Generation], emerged elegantly, offering a friendly and gentlemanly greeting:

"Madam, Young Master, good evening."

"Good evening~" Shu Yao prompted Xiao Juzi to reply to [First Generation] with her.

[First Generation] moved its cold body to the side, clearly inviting the mother and son inside.

As he passed it, Xiao Juzi craned his neck as far as he could but could only see up to its chest.

He remarked with adorable innocence, "Mom, it’s so tall!"

[First Generation] bent down slightly and lifted Xiao Juzi into the crook of its mechanical arm. It had also held its Master this way when he was just as small. Even though that was over thirty years ago, it still remembered it clearly.

"Now, you are as tall as I am, my Young Master."

Shu Yao asked, "The Commander... Has Ah Bao not returned yet?"

[First Generation] turned its head and replied, "That is correct, Madam."

Its tone was mechanical, yet respectful.

[First Generation]: "Madam, shall I notify the Master?"

"No need." Shu Yao felt that Qin Shiwei would definitely be back tonight. "We’ll play here for a while and wait for him."

As soon as she walked in and saw a modular slide set indoors, Shu Yao stopped in her tracks. Xiao Juzi’s eyes, however, lit up instantly.

"This... doesn’t seem like Ah Bao’s style!"

[First Generation] said, "I made this especially for the Young Master. The Master did not agree at first, but he quickly changed his mind."

"I wanna play! I wanna play!" Xiao Juzi couldn’t hold back, clamoring to go on the slide.

[First Generation] took him to the entrance of the slide.

There was a very tall support panel that towered over even the two-meter-tall [First Generation] standing beneath it.

On the support panel was a round hole, big enough for one person to fit through, which served as the entrance to the slide.

[First Generation] raised its long mechanical arm and lifted the ecstatic Xiao Juzi up.

The moment he was near the round hole, Xiao Juzi quickly scrambled inside. He happily WHOOSHED down the tube-shaped slide, ran back to [First Generation], and jumped up and down, asking to be lifted up high again.

Shu Yao watched the tireless [First Generation] with a thoughtful expression, feeling that this robot was quite "clever."

[First Generation] seemed to notice her gaze, turning its mechanical head to give her a polite nod.

From that expressionless, mechanical face, Shu Yao actually felt a trace of tender warmth.
