There was another small group of miners present on a rock near the waterfall, and they seemed to be resting.
Once they saw them, they stood up and bowed towards Sun Xiurong and Lin Feng.
The woman who had brought them here pointed towards a specific direction," S-senior, that place.."
Sun Xiurong and Lin Feng looked towards the far side of the cavern and saw the newly collapsed section.
Rocks had broken from the ceiling of the cavern and had piled down like a small mountain.
"I-I was told to dig deeper into the spirit vein to widen the cave, but suddenly it collapsed.."
Sun Xiurong nodded," I see.."
Sun Xiurong moved towards it, and Lin Feng followed.
The woman stayed behind while looking at Sun Xiurong with a slightly fearful gaze.
One of the men inside the group noticed it and shook his head," You are fortunate that it’s senior Sun, or else you would have definitely been punished heavily for breaking a whole spirit vein.."
Others nodded in agreement, while the woman who had newly arrived and didn’t know about Sun Xiurong’s personality felt a little relieved hearing that.
Sun Xiurong and Lin Feng arrived at the location and looked at the aftermath.
"Are you trying to ascertain something, senior sister?"
Sun Xiurong nodded," Yes, junior brother, whenever a collapse happens, many uncertainties can occur due to the mysteriousness of this mine..

Lin Feng nodded with knowing expression before peering towards the place where the ceiling had broken.
"Junior brother, be careful if you use your spiritual sense, as it would be heavily suppressed here and you would also lose far more spiritual qi for a simple glance.."
Lin Feng had expected that, but he had also come here to test things out, so he didn’t hesitate and opened his spiritual sense.
The moment his perception touched the barrier which the mist wasn’t crossing to keep its distance from him, he felt the suppression, it weakened his spiritual sense by a lot, and he was only able to perceive around a hundred meters or so.
There was one thing different though, even if this mist had suppressed his spiritual sense, his consumption of spiritual qi was still negligible like before, it didn’t seem that the mist was interested in devouring it, even if it left his body.
He didn’t ponder on it and observed the section to see if it was safe enough or not. He could see the broken spirit vein buried deep under the layer of rocks, and from the looks of it, it was destroyed completely, unable to produce any spirit stones in the near future without healing.
However, it wouldn’t affect the collection of spirit stones for the sect though, as there were many such spirit veins here. He turned his attention to the ceiling and flew a little closer to see as deep as he could.
Everything looked normal at a casual glance, but he sensed something... a small, thin root which seemed a little out of place.
There was no tree around here, and he was certain that they were quite deep beneath the earth to have roots from the trees above reaching here... so where did this small and unassuming root come from?
Sun Xiurong was observing the ceiling too with her spiritual sense, but didn’t find it much suspicious," I think everything is fine here.."
Lin Feng came out of his thoughts hearing that and didn’t say anything. In terms of stability, it was certain that it wouldn’t collapse further, as for the root, he would try to find its origin later, maybe there really was a tree nearby.
"Junior brother, I am planning to return to the surface, how about you?"
Sun Xiurong had expended more spiritual qi after using her spiritual sense, and it was better for her to leave given her cultivation realm.

Lin Feng observed her back for a moment as she brought the woman away with her through the same passage they had come before looking towards another passage which went deeper into the mine.
He flew towards it, wondering how far the seal was from here, if he had to guess, then it shouldn’t be much further now.
The unknown mist here was already very dense, and since it affected those with higher cultivation realms more prominently, that seal might be as deep as what a Head Elder was capable of staying in for enough time to lay one or two runes easily, and that shouldn’t be far.
After entering the passage, the first thing he noticed was that it wasn’t barren anymore, and it wasn’t dug up everywhere either, even when there were quite a good number of spirit veins here.
It seemed the cavern was the limit of mining in this current section of the mine.
The deeper he moved, the more he frowned, he didn’t find any trees nearby, so how did that root even appear? He was already using his spiritual sense, but he didn’t find any other roots near him either.
He sighed and removed this thought for the moment before increasing his speed to reach the seal faster.
