Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos

Chapter 543: Trouble

The deeper Lin Feng traveled inside the mine, the wider the passage became, further confirming his previous assumption that this place had once belonged to a hidden faction… and if that was truly the case, then this faction was definitely an evil one, because only such factions would choose to remain hidden.

This also explained why there were hidden dangers within this ruin.

It didn’t take him too long before he arrived at another wide cavern, with three different passages leading deeper into this ruin, although he didn’t have to make a choice here because all the paths were sealed…

“So this is the seal..”

Lin Feng looked at the seal with a little bit of interest because it was a Dao Lord Realm seal instead of a Dominion Realm one, which was what he had expected it to be.

“Yet it failed to hold up against this black mist..”

He sighed slightly and began looking for any kind of clue around the cavern instead of observing the seal first.

There was nothing much inside, and it was barren to some extent, with only a few runes drawn here and there to tether the seal to a spirit vein.

There was also another protective array drawn to isolate the seal from any visitor here.

He kept looking around for a few more breaths before shaking his head slightly after finding nothing.

Finally, he turned towards the translucent barrier covering all three caves and used his spiritual sense, but it was blocked easily.

In the end, he could only rely on his eyes, although they weren’t much help here.

The slight transparency of the seal only allowed him to see a very small portion of the hidden passage in the darkness, given that there were no spirit crystals on the other side.

In the end, he finally used his Chaotic Eyes.

With these eyes, he could see through almost everything as long as something stronger than him wasn’t actively obstructing his vision, and he doubted there was anything like that here.

As he concentrated on the barrier, it gradually turned transparent before his eyes, and the darkness that concealed almost everything vanished from his perception, leaving behind an empty passage which he could see until the limits of his vision… and that’s when he saw something which made his eyebrows rise slightly.

The blackish-red mist was far denser behind this barrier, but it wasn’t something he cared about..

“These roots..”

Small, thin roots similar to the one he had seen earlier were spread throughout the entire cave..

He immediately turned his attention to the other caves, and as expected, there were similar roots emerging from the cave walls..

“Interesting..”

Lin Feng didn’t know what Mysterious Heaven Sect had seen beyond this place, but it seemed they had considered it safe to seal these roots off, even though they clearly hadn’t succeeded completely due to the last root he had seen earlier.

He observed the roots keenly, trying to figure out what kind of tree they belonged to because, looking at them, he was certain that they weren’t the source of this unknown mist affecting the soul.

In fact, those roots seemed extremely vibrant and full of vitality, enough that they could even be used to create potent vitality pills.

He couldn’t truly tell the exact grade of the spirit tree they belonged to due to all these obstructions, but their appearance alone was enough for him to make a rough guess about their characteristics.

Lin Feng sighed slightly, there was still no clue about the source of the mist… which was what he was trying to figure out, and it didn’t seem he would find it without truly crossing this seal, which was impossible.

After giving one last look at the barriers, he turned around and was about to return when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

He remained like that for a moment before slowly turning around and looking at the barrier again.

What entered his eyes was something that would have made anyone’s heart tighten upon seeing it..

A silhouette of a single eye was plastered behind the barrier, and it felt as if the darkness itself was staring directly at him..

This lasted for a few breaths before the silhouette slowly disappeared, and the oppressive feeling of that gaze which had made Lin Feng stop previously vanished altogether.

Lin Feng remained in his place for a few more breaths, looking at the barrier calmly, before turning around and leaving..

The return journey was uneventful, and soon he emerged from the spirit mine..

After witnessing the existence of that silhouette, he now had even more questions than answers, but he wasn’t in a hurry to find anything more about it.

When someone’s strength reaches a certain level, even their gaze holds an authoritative suppression which would make weak cultivators lose their will to stand before them..

That gaze he had felt carried such authority, and given its intensity, it was certain that the person behind that seal was a Dao Lord Realm cultivator… someone with whom he truly didn’t want to cross paths with his current realm.

He would just tell Elder Cui that the seal seemed to have cracks somewhere and that they should ponder on it.

As he was moving towards the pavilion, he suddenly sensed a spiritual sense before a man appeared in front of him.

“Stop there..”

Lin Feng sighed slightly and looked at the man who was at the Peak of the Initiation Realm. He was wearing Judgment Pavilion’s robe, and from his gaze, it was certain that he was intentionally looking for trouble.

“Where are you coming from?”

“From the spirit mine..” Lin Feng replied calmly.

“Ohh… so you are punished to work here, then why the hell are you wearing the sect robes?”

The man raised his voice with authority and even released his cultivation aura to put pressure on Lin Feng.

Lin Feng remained unperturbed and shook his head,” I had permission to venture inside, if you have a problem with that, then you can ask Senior Sister Sun who had allowed me in the first place..”
