Chapter 4587: Quick Help
Chapter 4587: Quick Help
Rean’s radar was correct. There was indeed a Godly Predator nearby. In fact, they soon noticed that it seemed to be pursuing someone. Not long after, another airplane appeared in their sight, obviously trying to flee from the approaching Godly Predator.
"They’re coming straight for us," Kentucky pointed out.
"They can’t see us because my airplane’s Light Bending Array Plates are active. They’re simply trying to flee toward the Besgol Region. They won’t be able to outrun the Godly Predator, though," Rean commented.
Rean then decided to contact the airplane ahead, allowing his airplane’s communication beacon to become visible to the cultivators inside. ’Those running away from the Godly Predator, don’t stop. We’ll take care of the threat.’
Rean’s message was short, but for the cultivators inside the airplane, it was like finding an oasis in the desert. Their answer was equally brief. -Thank you! We owe you one!-
Rean’s airplane hatch opened, and he and Kentucky flew out, leaving Roan, Celis, and Lukay behind. They quickly positioned themselves between the Godly Predator on the ground and the fleeing cultivators’ airplane. As soon as Rean’s Light Bending Skill deactivated, the Godly Predator immediately noticed them, shooting toward their position and completely forgetting about the other airplane it was after initially.
*Rawr!*
Yet, just as it was about to pounce on Rean and Kentucky, a golden sphere of fiery red flames suddenly charged toward it! Luxa clearly wasn’t very good at judging the difference in strength between herself and her opponents.
*Bang!*
*Boom!*
An explosion of fire and energy blasted everything several meters around them, and the sphere of flames was sent flying backward like a bullet. The Godly Predator, a wolf-like creature that controlled the wind element, emerged from the flames and immediately charged after Luxa with renewed fury. Much of its face and chest had been scorched by her attack.
Luxa had lost the clash, but she had still managed to inflict some damage. More importantly, the Godly Predator’s attention was now entirely focused on her. It completely forgot about Rean and Kentucky behind it, which was a mistake it would not have the chance to correct.
’Red Life, Lightning Emperor Sword!’
’Kawa Godly Strike!’
Rean’s Intent Weapon and Kentucky’s powerful talons came from opposite sides of the Wolf Godly Predator, giving it no chance to dodge. The creature was definitely fast, but Luxa’s attack had completely dulled its senses, leaving it unable to react in time.
*Swish, swish!*
*Puft, puft, puft!*
*Roarrrr!!!*
The Wolf Godly Predator’s roar spread far and wide as pain coursed through its body... but it was all it did in the end.
*Tud!*
Its massive body finally collapsed to the ground. Kentucky had aimed his talons at the wolf’s head, while Rean went for its heart. Both attacks pierced through their respective targets, cutting deep into the Godly Predator’s body. The poor creature simply had no chance in the end.
*Tuf, tuf, tuf!*
Immediately afterward, several roots sprouted from the ground, piercing into the Wolf’s head before wrapping around its Godly Predator Crystal and pulling it free. Celis finally emerged, his roots doing the work for him as he calmly collected the prize.
*Rawr!*
Luxa quickly ran back, her eyes fixed on the Godly Predator Crystal now being held by Celis. ’I helped too! I want the crystal!’
Too bad, though. Rean appeared behind the little girl and grabbed her by one of her tails. "You helped, or you got knocked away? Look at you! You’ve got several bones broken. You’re far too reckless!"
’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’
Immediately afterward, Rean began healing her injuries, his Light Element suppressing her pain while her broken bones and damaged body rapidly recovered.
Luxa’s ears drooped. ’It was a little bit stronger than I thought. That’s all...’
"Sure. It definitely was just a little bit stronger," Rean replied sarcastically, not believing her for a second. "In any case, no crystals for the time being. We’ll gather them all first, and only after that will we distribute them among everyone."
"Hum?" At that moment, Rean and the others noticed the cultivators’ airplane returning.
The airplane soon landed nearby, and five cultivators stepped out. The leader was obviously the Middle Stage Aura God standing at the front. He immediately bowed slightly. "Seniors, thank you for your help."
Rean shook his head. "You should have just flown to Besgol instead of coming back."
The cultivators glanced toward the carcass of the Godly Predator, their eyes immediately settling on it. After a moment of hesitation, the leader asked, "We-We will... Senior, you obtained the Godly Predator Crystal. What do you intend to do with the corpse?"
The corpse was also worth quite a bit, although nowhere near as much as the Godly Predator Crystal itself.
Rean finally understood why they had returned in the first place. However, he narrowed his eyes. "I thought it was strange that a Godly Predator was this close to Besgol. You guys were idiotic enough to try to kill it yourselves, weren’t you?"
The cultivators immediately looked away in embarrassment. Their silence was answer enough.
In the end, Rean sighed and shook his head. "Forget it. Just take the carcass and go back to Besgol. Don’t try something like this again. I can see that one of you is an Array Master, but outside Besgol, having enough time to set up an array capable of dealing with a Godly Predator is anything but easy. You were lucky this time, and most likely, there won’t be a next one."
The cultivators’ eyes immediately lit up. "R-Right, Senior! We’ll think things through next time. Th-Thank you for allowing us to keep the corpse."
Finally, Rean nodded and prepared to leave. "Just take it and go back. Goodbye."
The cultivators then watched as Rean and the others suddenly disappeared into thin air. Of course, that was simply because they had returned to Rean’s airplane, whose Light Bending Array Plates were still active.
Inside the airplane, Roan pointed toward Besgol. "Aurundi contacted us, asking why we stopped. I told him everything was fine."
"Cool!" Rean smiled. "Let’s keep going. Even if that group was the one that lured the Godly Predator here, it doesn’t change the fact that it was already too close to Besgol. We’ll likely find a lot more of them."
—
As Rean’s airplane departed, the cultivators quickly moved to claim the Godly Predator’s corpse. One of them couldn’t help but look in the direction the twins’ group had disappeared.
"Doesn’t that Senior seem familiar?"
The leader nodded. "Obviously. He’s the one behind the new airplane designs that have recently reached the market. He was also gone for decades and just recently returned with Senior Arcis. The fact that his airplane disappeared is even more proof of it. It’s a special feature he shared with the Arrays Guild."
"How do you know that?" another cultivator asked.
"Because I was looking into buying a new airplane," the leader explained. "His name came up repeatedly because of that. Anyway, let’s hurry. We need to return and report this to the Godly Subjugation Guild."
In only a few minutes, they had secured everything and left the area. Aurundi’s airplane eventually passed through the same location as well. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he continued following the twins’ group from a distance, as agreed with the twins previously.
