Death… And Me

Chapter 4586: Shame?

But then, Lukay suddenly remembered something. “Wait! I heard about Pocket Dimensional Realms from ascenders like you. If he entered the Pocket Dimensional Realm, won’t his entrance be left behind as we fly away? Spatial Entrances don’t move as far as I’m aware, unless you attach them to something, like an array or something like that, right? Did you build something like that in here?”

Rean shook his head. “Not really. But you can probably guess why it won’t be a problem for the four of us. Give it a try.”

Lukay thought about it for a moment, his core crackling softly as he considered the possibilities. “Something I can probably guess… You did mention before that the four of you are connected somehow. Could it be…”

Rean nodded. “Exactly. The four of us are connected in a very deep manner. There is only one Pocket Dimensional Realm that all four of us use at the same time. See? And you said we had no disadvantages. Here’s one for you. We can’t have a Pocket Dimensional Realm for each one of us.”

“The good thing about it is that we can use each other’s locations to come out,” Rean continued, explaining the unusual nature of their shared space. “That said, Kentucky can appear inside the airplane anytime he wants.”

Lukay wasn’t certain if that was really a disadvantage. “Doesn’t that mean you can send one of you away and use them as a means of escape in pretty much any situation?”

“It is indeed an advantage, but it has limits,” Rean explained. “We can’t go too far from each other if we want to enter our Pocket Dimensional Realm. It only works if we are close enough. So, although your idea does work, if we get too far apart, then we lose access to our Pocket Dimensional Realm completely. Someone with a personal Pocket Dimensional Realm never has to worry about something like that.”

“I see…” Lukay could now understand the issue. “Well, I will agree that this time, there is indeed a sizeable disadvantage that others wouldn’t have. How far is this distance limit before you four lose access to your Pocket Dimensional Realm?”

“Only ten thousand kilometers,” Rean said with a dejected expression.

Compared to the virtually unlimited distance they had been able to maintain in the Vinx Great Void before, ten thousand kilometers was practically nothing.

Lukay almost exploded, though. “Ten freaking thousand kilometers?! You know what? Go fuck yourselves!”

—

Inside the Great Void, Kentucky brought Kachia around, as he could truly get anywhere he wanted with her while inside their shared space. However, unlike Kentucky, Kachia had her cultivation suppressed by the Great Void. She was now at the Celestial Realm.

No, in fact, she was even weaker than a Celestial Realm Expert from the Vinx Great Void.

The reason was simple. Kachia had been born and raised in the Celestial Plane, where she had never had the opportunity to work with laws in the same way cultivators from the Great Void did.

Her cultivation was therefore suppressed to the Celestial Realm while inside the Great Void, and although she could technically control laws here, she had no idea how to do so. Only at the Law God Realm would she have access to them, after all.

The same applied to the other abilities that Celestial Realm Experts from the Great Void could normally use. Intent, Spatial Powers, Domains, and other abilities were all available in some form, but Kachia couldn’t actually use them. Her cultivation realm might have been comparable, but her understanding of the available features was pretty much none..

“It’s such a weird feeling…” Kachia said, sensing the existence of laws around her but having no idea what to do with them.

Kentucky put a wing around her back. “You shouldn’t pay much attention to it. In fact, it will be better for your future if you ignore all these new capabilities you have access to in my Great Void.”

“How come?” Kachia couldn’t help but ask.

Kentucky explained, “Because what you comprehend here is ultimately different from what you will comprehend in the Celestial Plane. If you waste your time here, it will influence your feelings and understanding once you return to the Celestial Plane.”

“Simply put, trying to comprehend laws, using Spatial and Time Powers, attempting to deploy Domains, or even trying to use Weapon Intents would be a detriment to you. It isn’t worth it, regardless of how much you might feel tempted to experiment with them right now.”

“I see…” Kachia gave up trying to sense the laws and decided to trust Kentucky. “Then I won’t do it. We’d better go out before I unconsciously start attempting something.”

“We will soon,” Kentucky nodded. “But first, let’s pay a visit to my parents. I want them to know you.”

“Isn’t that the kind of thing humans like to do?” Kachia asked, raising an eyebrow.

Kentucky shrugged in response. “Don’t forget that I was raised by two humans. It was unfortunate, but what can I do? Those two idiots were better than nothing, I guess.”

Rean’s voice instantly echoed through the surroundings. ‘I should have let Roan make Fried Chicken of you back then…’

“Fuck you!” Kentucky retorted immediately. “And stop watching us! Don’t you have any shame?!”

‘Shame? What’s that? Is it some kind of food?’ Rean asked innocently.

Kentucky’s expression turned dark. “I guess I can only tell Qia about it, then.”

‘Ahem…’ Rean’s response immediately made a complete turn. ‘Shame! Right! I remember now. My bad, my bad. I’ll leave you two alone. Privacy is a very important thing. How could I forget that? See ya!’

And just like that, his presence disappeared without a trace.

Kachia couldn’t help but giggle. It was simply impossible not to be entertained by the twins’ group’s antics. “You all sure look alike.”

“Please don’t say that. I have feelings…” Kentucky complained, although he knew perfectly well that he had no chance of escaping the situation.

—

Back in the Celestial Plane, Rean opened his eyes and clicked his tongue. “Tch… that Minokawa doesn’t know how to play.”

Roan glanced at him. “Leave them alone.”

“Yeah, yeah, I get it.” Rean didn’t insist and turned his attention back to the surroundings. “Hum? Hey, look at that!”

Rean suddenly stopped the airplane and approached the radar. A large concentration of Godly Pressure had appeared not too far ahead, strong enough to catch their attention. “From the readings, it should be a Godly Predator. It is pretty close to Besgol, isn’t it?”

Roan nodded. “No wonder Huhilir said they haven’t received any big attacks recently. The Godly Creatures are indeed starting to gather in preparation for a larger horde.”

Celis was already in front of the screen, his vines moving with interest as he examined the readings. “Perfect! Let’s take this one down. It’s time to gather cultivation resources!”

“What about Kentucky?” Lukay asked.

“Leave him alone for a moment,” Rean said. “A single Godly Predator won’t be an issue for us.”

*Rawr!*

‘Rean, I want to hunt too!’

Luxa jumped onto Rean’s shoulder, having been curled up in the corner of the airplane ever since they left Besgol. Her red and golden eyes were shining with anticipation now that she had sensed the nearby Godly Creature.

Rean obviously didn’t mind. He reached up and gently patted her head. “Sure. You can help. Let’s go!”
