Chapter 663: Pay Up or Else
Chapter 663: Pay Up or Else
"Who are you..." The Captain, from Lee He Song and Han Di’s ability to fly, knew that they were at least Foundation Establishment Level.
And they would be of great help to him right now.
"We are friends of Lao Er and Ling Er." Lee He Song replied and he glanced at Lao Er and Ling Er.
Lao Er and Ling Er nodded their heads at Lee He Song.
"What about the enemies?" The Captain pointed at the direction of the southern slope.
Lee He Song shrugged his shoulders and said, "They are all taken care of."
The Captain was in doubt but he drew in a deep breath when he saw the blood stains that were on the clothes and bodies of Lee He Song and Han Di.
He quickly cupped his hands at them and said, "Thanks for the help, but I might need your help to deal with the enemies on the other fronts."
Han Di, who was quiet so far, stepped forward and gave him a huge grin.
"We can do so but it might cost you."
Han Di and Lee He Song had gathered a pretty good amount of Spirit Stones from the bodies of the fallen enemies, but they wouldn’t mind if there were more.
"Captain! The north slope is in dire danger of being overrun by the bastards! We need help immediately." Someone interrupted and came forward to the Captain to ask for help.
The Captain had no one else on hand to do so.
Every front was in dire danger at the moment except for the southern slope.
"What would the cost be?" The Captain gave out a long sigh and asked Han Di, as he was desperate for help.
Han Di patted on the shoulder of the Captain and said, "Nothing much, three hundred Spirit Stones will do."
"Three hundred Spirit Stones?!" The Captain said in astonishment.
If it was a normal day, he would have asked Han Di to take a hike.
But right now, he didn’t have too much of a choice.
Either he paid Han Di and Lee He Song three hundred Spirit Stones, or let the mines be plundered by the cultivators from the north, which would leave him with nothing left.
The Captain gritted his teeth and made his decision.
"Fine, three hundred Spirit Stones to help clear the encroaching enemies."
Han Di nodded his head at the Captain and said, "You’ve made the right choice.
"Wait for us to be back before lunch." He said and he flew off with Lee He Song in the next moment.
The Captain held his breath when the gust of wind from their flying blew past him.
There wasn’t much that he could do except to wait.
He glanced over at Lao Er and Ling Er again.
"Do you think they would be able to take care of the enemies?" The Captain asked, trying to confirm that his decision would be the right one.
Lao Er and Ling Er nodded their heads at him without hesitation.
"They took out most of the cultivators from the north with only one strike." Lao Er added and said to try and give the Captain more confidence in them.
The Captain sighed and he looked in the direction of the northern slope where Lee He Song and Han Di had headed.
It was then that he heard loud screams of pain echoing in the air.
The cries of pain lasted for a very long time before Lee He Song and Han Di returned to where the Captain was.
"Done." Han Di said and he dropped a severed head he was holding in his hand onto the ground.
The head rolled to the feet of the Captain and the Captain had to take a few steps back.
A soldier ran up to him from the northern slope and said, "Captain! There were two men who came to our rescue and they killed off all the enemies...."
The soldier gasped when he realized Lee He Song and Han Di were right there beside the Captain.
"Thank you so much for saving us!" The soldier quickly cupped his hands and bowed deeply at Lee He Song and Han Di.
Han Di shrugged and said, "It’s nothing. That’s what righteous cultivators from the South Lin Sword Sect like us have to do."
He waved at the soldier, gesturing for the soldier to get up.
The Captain frowned at what he had heard.
If not for the fact that he would have to pay Han Di three hundred Spirit Stones for it, he might have believed what Han Di had said.
"Thanks to the South Lin Sword Sect!" The soldier went on and thanked the sect after hearing it from Han Di.
Han Di nodded his head at the soldier.
Hopefully, this would be great marketing to get more cultivators to join the sect in the future.
It was the best that Lin Xuan Qi could do for his South Lin Sword Sect.
Soon, the sounds of the fights raging died off after they had cleared off the enemies coming from the southern and northern slopes of the mines.
The enemy had retreated.
"Thanks so much for your help!" The Captain cupped his hands and bowed at Lee He Song and Han Di.
They had really helped him to secure the mines from the enemy.
Three hundred Spirit Stones seemed like a bargain to him now with the threat being taken care of.
"Thank you, Master Lee and Master Han." Lao Er and Ling Er also came over to thank them.
Han Di nodded his head at them and said, "Now, do you believe that I’m as good as your Grand Ancestor Lin."
Lee He Song wanted to roll his eyes at Master Lin.
He wasn’t sure if being in the persona of Han Di had made Master Lin much more mischievous and boastful than he was in person.
But he could understand why.
Having to lie low and keep their cultivation a secret was difficult.
And maybe, having the Natal Puppet disguised as Han Di was a perfect avenue for him to do what he otherwise could have done.
