After I Fully Prepared for the Apocalypse, the Ungrateful Cried with Regret

Chapter 511: Nia Quinn

Chapter 511: Chapter 511: Nia Quinn

All Nia Quinn could see was a towering inferno.

The flames surged like a tidal wave, devouring the six Thunder Element Superpower attacks before rushing directly toward the crowd opposite them!

"Defense! Gold and Earth Defense!"

Eleanor Driscoll no longer had the luxury of directing from the air. She immediately conjured a Wind Wall, trying to block the fiery assault.

She had never seen such a powerful Fire Element Superpower.

It felt as if it would incinerate everything in its path; even her proudest Wind Wall was on the verge of collapse.

Just then, a Thunder Element Superpower attack struck from behind them!

A strange man appeared, walking up from behind them with a Thunder Ball in his hand.

His eyes were cold, and an almost solid layer of air seemed to cling to his body, with the Thunder Element Superpower crackling just beyond it.

A cat was perched on his shoulder, creating a bizarre sight.

Eleanor Driscoll immediately realized what was happening.

’This man is here to help the Dual Element Superpower User!’

"Everyone, report to the west exit for backup, immediately—"

Before Eleanor Driscoll could finish, a blast of Fire Element Superpower shattered the walkie-talkie in her hand.

"I don’t like it when things drag on. Let’s end this quickly!"

Nina Jacobs said.

There were only about thirty people here. She and Wayne Warner could deal with them in a few minutes. It would be much more trouble if Eleanor Driscoll managed to call for more backup.

Upon hearing Nina Jacobs’ words, Wayne Warner was already charging toward a few of the Superpower Users!

"You’re asking to die!"

A Gold Element Superpower User shot out several long Gold Spikes, attempting to turn Wayne Warner into a pincushion.

However, the Gold Spikes were deflected before they could even touch Wayne Warner.

Only then did the man realize his attack was completely useless!

"He’s also a Dual Element! He has the Strength Element!"

someone shouted.

By then, a devastatingly powerful fist, wreathed in Thunder Element energy, was already hurtling toward them!

The ground turned to sand, and in the chaos, Diamond Sand Spikes reaped several bloody figures.

The battle instantly intensified.

A moment later, Eleanor Driscoll stared down at the Diamond Sand Spike embedded in her abdomen.

"What... in the world... are you..."

Looking at Eleanor Driscoll and all the others lying in pools of blood, Nia Quinn still seemed to find it hard to believe.

In less than ten minutes, she had cleared away everyone who stood in her way.

"Let’s go."

Nina Jacobs set the bodies on fire and then spoke.

She had Nia Quinn get in the car with Wayne Warner first, while she herself returned to the previous spot. From her storage space, she took out a white vehicle bearing traces of battle and bloodstains.

This was a Veridian vehicle she had acquired back in Mirewood, and some of the items inside belonged to Gordon and his people.

She wasn’t sure if this would be enough to throw them off her trail, but it could at least temporarily confuse them and disrupt their line of thinking.

Nia Quinn sat quietly in the car. Only after Nina Jacobs got in and sat beside her did Wayne Warner start the engine.

"You had a reason for getting me out of there, didn’t you?"

Nia Quinn finally voiced the question on her mind.

Nina Jacobs didn’t deny it. She did have a purpose, but she first asked a question of her own:

"I’m just curious why they wanted to capture you, but weren’t willing to kill you."

Hearing this, Nia Quinn gave a helpless smile.

"Because as long as they have me, I can build all sorts of lethal weapons for them.

They call me their ’walking armory.’ I’m their most useful tool, you see."

"Are you with The Aegis Conclave?"

Nina Jacobs asked again.

A few badges had fallen from the bodies she’d just burned. She was all too familiar with them; they were the badges of The Aegis Conclave.

"You even know about that? You must be someone extraordinary yourself."

Nia Quinn said, looking at Nina Jacobs with admiration.

She had never seen such a powerful Dual Element Superpower User.

"I’m just an ordinary survivor, not part of any organization.

But you, why were you out there?"

Nina Jacobs asked.

Nia Quinn’s expression flickered at the question.

She glanced at the big cat licking its paws in the front seat and at the ever-silent Wayne Warner, then finally decided to tell her story.

Apparently, The Aegis Conclave had received intel that there was an untouched reserve granary in Quelldra County. They had sent people to retrieve the supplies several times, but ended up losing over a hundred members in the process.

This was all because of an extremely powerful Intermediate Gold Element Zombie in Quelldra County. As long as that zombie was around, they couldn’t get to the granary.

"Originally, they wanted to use a special piece of Defense Clothing to deal with that zombie, but they couldn’t find it.

Later, I was the one who suggested using the weapons I developed to help them kill it, and that’s how I ended up here..."

Nia Quinn’s face was a little pale as she continued:

"I was just trying to use the opportunity to escape, but they sent so many people to catch me. I... accidentally blew them to pieces..."

"Then the weather suddenly turned freezing cold. I ate all the food in my storage space, and eventually, I was the only one left in the whole area.

I thought I was going to die. And then you came."

She had indeed blown up the Alloyed Zombie, and in fact, all the zombies in Quelldra County.

But she never found the food in the granary.

To be precise, someone had already taken the food here a step ahead of her.

That was when she had made her escape.

But the outside was teeming with zombies, and she didn’t dare run around alone, so she hid inside Quelldra County.

She knew they wouldn’t kill her, but to avoid being captured and taken back, she had acted ruthlessly.

Over the past few days, she had already blown up more than a dozen people.

Nina Jacobs understood now.

The Ziegler Family’s Golden Silk Jade Armor couldn’t be found, so The Aegis Conclave didn’t want to wait any longer and decided to just blow up the Alloyed Zombie. That was the opportunity Nia Quinn took to come here.

She took out the Superconductive Hand Grenade Nia Quinn had given her and said, "I’ve seen one of these before."

Nia Quinn was surprised. "Impossible. How could you have seen one?"

"In the hands of the Veridians. They used it against Drakonians. It’s quite powerful."

Nina Jacobs replied, looking at her.

"You’re not completely unwilling to return to The Aegis Conclave, are you? Or is it that they wouldn’t agree to your terms?"

Nina Jacobs had Wayne Warner pull the car over to the side of the road.

She believed Nia Quinn wasn’t as simple as she made herself out to be.

As if her thoughts had been exposed, Nia Quinn suddenly grew flustered under Nina Jacobs’ gaze.

"How... how did you know?"

she asked.

"You asked me to get you out, but you were planting those explosives the whole time. That was also to let them track you, wasn’t it?

You want to escape them, but you were also worried I had ulterior motives. You wanted to pit us against each other.

If I was outnumbered or not strong enough, you’d just be taken back by them at worst. But if I really did have the power to fight them, then following me would at least keep you safe for a while."

Seeing Nia Quinn’s expression, Nina Jacobs knew she was about ninety percent right.

Nia Quinn’s actions weren’t hard to understand.

After all, in this world, no one would dare to blindly trust a stranger they’d just met.

"You’re incredibly smart. Nothing gets past you.

I am afraid of dying. I thought you had some other reason for finding me, that you might be one of their people sent to get close to me or trick me into going back.

You could have also been from another organization or base.

But I never expected that you were really alone—oh, no, that there were two of you, and a big kitty..."

Nia Quinn laughed until tears streamed down her face, but her laughter soon turned into sobs as she lowered her head and cried.

"I have no control over the weapons I create. They can take them and use them for anything they want. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to run away,"

Nia Quinn said.
