Chapter 455 - 227: Promotion to Level 7 Warrior, The Memories Held by a Hamburger

Chapter 455: Chapter 227: Promotion to Level 7 Warrior, The Memories Held by a Hamburger

Since Zone 11 was currently unstable, he’d put it on the back burner for now. Besides, Zone 8 was closer anyway, so it made sense to go cause trouble for the Goblins first.

The Forest of Serenity was indeed massive. Even divided into over a hundred zones, each one was, on average, nearly one-fifth the size of the Loran Forest—roughly equivalent to the Loran Forest’s Core Area.

Between each zone was usually a buffer area, colloquially known as a boundary land.

Members from both sides could operate within these boundary lands, but if one side grew slightly stronger, they might get ideas about expansion, occupying the boundary land and redrawing the dividing line deeper into the other’s territory.

This was also the most critical aspect of map updates.

After all, operating in the boundary lands was significantly safer than entering a Demon’s territory directly.

Barging into a Demon’s territory was tantamount to an invasion and a provocation. Unless a quest specifically required it, Adventurers generally chose to avoid such trouble and not stir the pot.

Of course, this didn’t mean one wouldn’t encounter Demons in the boundary lands; the total number of Demons in the Forest of Serenity was simply too staggering.

This was especially true in the autumn and winter of each year when the Demons had finished reproducing and their populations swelled, which was precisely why the Hunting Competition was held.

After traveling for about ten minutes in the Forest of Serenity, Lin Mo saw a Demon in this forest for the first time.

It was a common forest wolf, a relatively Low Level Demon that would probably only be found in the deeper regions, even in the Loran Forest.

There wasn’t much to say. Seeing a Demon meant it was time to farm. Lin Mo immediately advanced, lashing out with a Whip Kick that caught the forest wolf in the midsection. The kick sent it flying, and it went still the moment it landed.

[Whip Kick] Skill Level +13

’Not bad.’

It wasn’t a huge amount, but Whip Kick was only an Excellent Level Skill, so it didn’t require that much Skill Level to max out anyway.

During the rest of their journey, they encountered a few more Demons, all around Level 1 to 3.

Ali and Feney also got some combat practice. Feney’s [Light Aid] could now grant 4 points of Strength, 4 points of Agility, and 4 points of Constitution. While not much for any single stat, it added up to a 12-point increase in Attributes.

Ali herself was already a Level Three Warrior—and not a fresh one, at that. Her Attributes were quite well-rounded, and with Feney’s support, she could handle even Demons of the same level with relative ease.

"Punching Fist!"

The Little Wolf Girl shouted, sending the Demon before her flying back with a single punch. Lin Mo followed up with his Sword, using [Continuous Thrust] to collect the Skill Level.

[Continuous Thrust] Skill Level +20

That was right. The skill Ali had just used was his own White Ordinary Level skill from the Warrior Profession—[Punching Fist].

Of course, this was a Skill Ali hadn’t known before.

She had acquired it from Lin Mo through the effects of the [Shared Cultivation] Skill.

She had acquired it directly, skipping the tedious learning process. She simply woke up one morning and suddenly knew how to use it.

The effects of this Skill would seem miraculous to most people... or rather, to anyone other than Lin Mo.

Ali was thrilled by this. Although her shared cultivation with Lin Mo had already granted her a significant amount of Attributes and caused her strength to advance by leaps and bounds, her repertoire of Skills was still quite limited.

’To think she could not only strengthen her body but also learn new Skills the same way... This was so much better than painstaking practice and study!’

The only small regret was that Lin Mo hadn’t yet acquired any Skills from Ali or Shefilya.

Still, since it had already shown results with Ali, he was bound to reap some rewards sooner or later if they kept at it.

After a series of battles, noon arrived.

They were still some distance from Zone 8, with about an hour’s walk ahead of them.

It made Lin Mo sigh once again at the sheer size of the forest. The Forest of Serenity truly lived up to its reputation as a medium-to-large forest.

Maintaining one’s condition is always crucial during an adventure. Lin Mo wasn’t in a hurry to complete his mission, so he decided to stop, rest, and reorganize.

There was no need to pitch a tent just for lunch. Lin Mo took a large piece of fine cloth from his Ring of Space and spread it on the ground to serve as a resting blanket.

He then took food out of the Ring. Now that he had the Ring of Space, his living conditions were much better than before. He no longer needed to carry dry rations and could instead bring proper, cooked dishes.

"Lin Mo..."

Ali’s eyes lit up as she looked at the exquisite dishes before her. She picked up a piece of roasted meat, only to quickly put it back down.

It wasn’t that the food was bad, but some things carried memories that were simply irreplaceable.

Lin Mo looked up and met her gaze. He was stunned for a moment, then, as if suddenly remembering something, he smiled. "Alright, I’ll make it for you now."

He took out some soft bread, placed the roasted meat and some vegetables inside, added a slice of cheese, and then used Magic to light a campfire nearby to toast it for a moment.

"Want to try it?"

Ignoring how hot it was, Ali took the freshly toasted little hamburger directly from Lin Mo’s hands and stuffed it into her mouth.

"Mmm, delicious!"

"Mr. Lin Mo..."

Feney looked over at him with hopeful eyes. Lin Mo could only get back to work and make another one.

Since he’d already made two, he decided he might as well make two more, handing one to Shefilya as well.
