Chapter 456: Chapter 227: Promotion to Level 7 Warrior, The Memories a Hamburger Holds
Shefilya took the hamburger, momentarily stunned.
She remembered the first time Lin Mo had made her a hamburger.
At the time, she never would have imagined that she would end up as his maid...
In a rare display, Shefilya didn’t refuse Lin Mo’s service. She took the hamburger and slowly brought it to her mouth.
The atmosphere was unusually quiet for a time.
After the meal, Lin Mo rested his head on Shefilya’s lap for a short nap, though not for long.
After all, they were still some ways from Zone 8 and needed to hurry.
’At the very least, I need to complete one mission today.’
’Right. And it definitely wasn’t because Shefilya was too slender and her lap wasn’t all that comfortable.’
After some more travel, during which they took out a few more Demons along the way, they finally arrived safely in Zone 8.
Not long after entering the area, Lin Mo caught the foul stench of Goblins.
Ali, beside him, had already wrinkled her nose in disgust.
Without any attempt at stealth, Lin Mo led the group, following the scent.
As expected, a horde of Goblins was sprawled out on the grass, fast asleep. The ones on the perimeter still clutched their weapons, putting on a pretense of patrolling.
In the middle of the Goblin pack, one could see an assortment of weeds, fungi, and wild berries, as well as hunted prey of all sizes.
It looked like a Goblin foraging party.
Although most have their own territories, there are significant differences between most Demons and Goblins.
Many Demons, while they might temporarily unite to resist external threats and defend their territory, don’t actually interact much on a daily basis and prefer to keep to themselves.
The Goblin race, however, can form a basic social structure similar to that of humanoid societies once their numbers grow large enough. While it’s nowhere near as complex or complete as that of races like humans, Elves, and Dwarves, they do genuinely form tribes.
In fact, their social structure is something that even the few Demons with a pack mentality, like Wolf Types, cannot compare to.
That’s why these wretched, green-skinned runts are such a headache when their numbers swell.
The group of Goblins before them numbered about one hundred.
Over 80% of them were Ordinary Goblins, followed by a dozen or so Goblin Guards, four adult Mutated Goblins, and finally, two Quasi-Bronze Level Goblins.
This was quite a lineup. In Loran Forest, before the goblin disaster, this would have been considered a rather troublesome Goblin tribe.
But in the Forest of Serenity, even for the Goblin tribes of Zone 8, this was just a small detachment at best.
Lin Mo exchanged a look with the others and immediately gave a hand signal.
’Move out!’
The next moment, he charged out, using [Jump Slash] to aim for the most concentrated group of Goblins.
The Goblins had no time to react. By the time Lin Mo landed, the immense Strength behind his blow caved in the surrounding ground and sent countless fissures spiderwebbing out.
The powerful shockwave launched the surrounding Goblins into the air, their internal organs instantly pulverized. The bodies of those closest to the impact simply burst apart.
Even a simple Ordinary Level Skill could produce such a terrifying effect in Lin Mo’s hands.
[Jump Slash] Skill Level +23!
He had taken out 23 Goblins with that single skill.
Lin Mo didn’t stop, following up with a [Whip Kick] that instantly shattered several Goblins.
Broken bodies flew everywhere, and the powerful force behind them struck down even more unlucky Goblins.
[Whip Kick] Skill Level +15
Awesome!
’Grinding these Low Level Skills on Goblins is so damn satisfying!’
Lin Mo used [Jump Slash] again, reaping the lives of another twenty-odd Goblins.
With that, the skill rose to Level 4.
"Skill [Jump Slash] Level 3 (40/40) Leveled Up!"
"Current Skill: [Jump Slash] Level 4 (4/100)"
As an Ordinary Level Skill, it was just one more level away from maxing out and evolving.
Lin Mo planned to max out the skill in this one go, so he stopped using other skills and continued to attack with [Jump Slash].
By now, the drowsy Mutated Goblins and Quasi-Bronze Goblins had also woken up. Seeing their kin being slaughtered, they charged forward menacingly.
Lin Mo targeted one of the Mutated Goblins and went at it with a [Jump Slash].
His Frost Dragon Scale Sword predictably cleaved the Mutated Goblin in two from head to toe. Its tall body collapsed in two halves, startling the remaining Mutated Goblins.
[Jump Slash] Skill Level +8
The two Quasi-Bronze Level Goblins weren’t fools. Seeing this, they knew they were no match for this opponent. With a strange shriek, they split up and fled.
But how could they possibly escape from right under Lin Mo’s nose?
Lin Mo caught up in a few strides, killing one with a [Jump Slash]. The other ran some distance and thought it was safe, only for another ’Lin Mo’ to suddenly appear in front of it, pinning it down like a helpless chick.
Lin Mo’s real body arrived moments later, continuing to use [Jump Slash] to reap the ’kill’.
[Jump Slash] Skill Level +18
[Jump Slash] Skill Level +17
The skill’s Skill Level continued to climb.
Meanwhile, Ali was also on a killing spree, swinging the Steel Splitting Sword in her hands.
The Heavy Sword Lin Mo had given her was weighty and durable, perfect for hacking Goblins with satisfying force.
