Virtual Idol in the Beast World: Five Clans Fight Over Me

Chapter 450 - 394: Can You Handle It?

Chapter 450: Chapter 394: Can You Handle It?

Looking at the big, oafish Mixed Breed before him, the Beastman attendant’s smile nearly faltered.

Fortunately, he had a strong sense of professionalism. After a brief stiffening of his lips, he began methodically directing the three remaining Beastmen to blow-dry the large Mixed Breed’s fur.

First, he switched to a high-powered blow dryer and grooming tools. Then, he had someone bring over sliced fruit and various snacks. Gu Ning even saw that he had prepared several vials that looked like Degeneration Inhibitors.

"To avoid any unexpected situations, we always prepare Inhibitors and tranquilizers. Please don’t worry. As long as your Mixed Breed cooperates and doesn’t act aggressively, we won’t use them. Of course, even if their use becomes necessary, we would still require your approval." The Beastman attendant, who had red, blue, and orange-streaked hair, explained the vials on the small tray and the grooming tools to Gu Ning. He sounded entirely convincing and professional.

He was so persuasive that Gu Ning almost forgot they also offered less-than-proper services like "sleep accompaniment." She started to think they were just in-home groomers.

The Beastman attendant keenly noticed the young lady looking at his hair repeatedly. He smiled and asked, "Do you like my hair, miss?"

Gu Ning was taken aback by the sudden change of topic. She glanced at his hair again but didn’t say a word.

’If I weren’t so worried about Cook, I’d leave right now.’ After all, she couldn’t show her face. There was no guarantee these Beastmen wouldn’t recognize her—or rather, recognize Yuanbao.

"My hair is dyed," the Beastman attendant said in a soft tone. He glanced at the Birdman walking toward the door, then inconspicuously moved closer to the female who kept herself tightly wrapped up. "I’m a Bird Clan Orc, too," he whispered. "You’re very quiet."

Gu Ning remained silent.

The Beastman attendant continued, "Please don’t worry. Our hotel keeps all guest identities strictly confidential. You can take off that uncomfortable bath towel."

Hearing this, Gu Ning only pulled the towel tighter around herself.

The Beastman attendant leaned in closer still. "Look, the towel is soaked, and your hair needs to be dried..."

Before he could finish, Cook—who had just been placated with snacks—let out a loud "WOOF!" He bared his teeth and lunged for the attendant’s hand as it reached for Gu Ning.

A Beastman behind Cook quickly grabbed the scruff of his neck, but Cook still managed to clamp his teeth down on the attendant’s sleeve.

RRRIP!

Half of the Beastman attendant’s white shirt, sleeve and all, was torn away.

"Cook..."

Gu Ning quietly scolded the big dog, her eyes sweeping over the Beastman attendant’s exposed chest. She pressed her lips together.

’So pale.’

"GRRR-WOOF!" Cook growled at the Beastman attendant.

The Beastman attendant used the momentum to lean toward the young lady, about to feign fright and grab her hand, when Philinos, who had gone to get the door, strode back over. He grabbed the attendant’s other sleeve. "RIIIP—"

The rest of his shirt was utterly destroyed, and the flash of his almost unnaturally pale skin dazzled Gu Ning’s eyes.

Gu Ning pressed her lips together tightly.

Philinos tossed aside the tattered, perfumed scrap of a shirt. He had to fight the urge to throw the man out with it. "Stay away from her!"

"My apologies. I thought he was going to attack me," the Beastman attendant said to Gu Ning, his expression a perfect blend of apology and innocence.

"..."

Gu Ning waved a hand dismissively at him, then stroked Cook’s fur to soothe him. Her gaze swept over the three Beastmen standing behind Cook, gesturing for them to continue.

The Beastman who had previously restrained Cook was the first to act, placing a hand on Cook’s shoulder and pressing him down.

Cook turned and bared his teeth, but he still sat down obediently.

The other two, the Sea Clan Beastmen, stepped forward a beat late. They handled the blow dryers with some clumsiness, their eyes darting toward Gu Ning every so often.

Gu Ning noticed them looking and glanced back.

The Beastman on the left was brawnier, with bulging muscles. Every time she looked his way, he’d flash her a goofy grin. His features, however, were surprisingly delicate—not the rough-hewn faces of the Land Beastmen she was used to. The one on the right was more slender and had a more boyish look, regarding her with clear, curious eyes. He looked even younger than Cook.

It was Gu Ning’s first time seeing Sea Clan Beastmen, and she couldn’t help but stare a little.

As if on cue, the two Sea Clan Beastmen stripped off their thin shirts, which had barely concealed their physiques anyway. One gave Gu Ning a silly grin, while the other offered a shy smile.

They kept preening, fixing their hair and swaying their hips.

It was an undisguised attempt to please her, but there was nothing seductive about it. It was just clumsy and earnest.

Gu Ning bit down hard on her lower lip, but she couldn’t stop the smile from spreading across her cheeks.

’Oh... oh my... Why are they acting like this? This is hilarious.’

A certain unignorable glare forced Gu Ning to drag her eyes away and look at the Little Fairy Bird, who seemed to be radiating a frosty aura.

"Enjoying the view?" His voice was just as chilly.

Gu Ning pulled the bath towel down over her eyes.

Philinos: "..."

The Beastman attendant shot the pair a peculiar look.

"Grrr..." Cook let out a displeased growl at the two wriggling "fish."

Just then, someone pushed the door open and entered.

Hearing the sound, Gu Ning lifted a corner of the towel to peek out. Lanuo was standing in the doorway, holding an ice pack to his face.

Lanuo froze when he saw the scene, then raised an eyebrow at Gu Ning.

’Looks like that bird really does listen to her,’ he thought. ’A moment ago, he looked ready to kill both man and beast, but when she wanted room service, he couldn’t stop her. He just had to stand there obediently.’

"Think you can handle all this?" Lanuo asked, walking over to Gu Ning. His gaze swept over the four Beastmen grooming Cook.

"Oh, and two from the Sea Clan," Lanuo noted. He addressed the two who were swaying as if trying to swish fishtails. "Where are you from? How old are you?"

The brawnier one said, "Me? Twenty. From up by the North Sea."

Gu Ning almost burst out laughing at his thick, convoluted accent.

"Miss Lamb, after we’re done with the dog, can I sleep with you? You smell so nice," the brawny, handsome, yet simple-minded Sea Clan Beastman said with a wide grin.

Hearing him call her "Miss Lamb," Gu Ning wondered, ’Does he think I’m from the Sheep Clan?’

The other Sea Clan Beastman raised his hand. "North Sea, me too... me too... I want... I want to, too..."

His command of the common tongue was even worse than Gu Ning’s, and he struggled to form a proper sentence. At least he didn’t have the other’s laughably thick accent, and his voice was much more pleasant to listen to.

"Want what? Don’t be rude in front of the lady!" the Beastman attendant chided them quietly. He then turned to Gu Ning. "My apologies, miss. They’re new to our hotel, and I haven’t had a chance to teach them the rules yet."

Gu Ning waved her hand, indicating it was fine. ’These two are pretty amusing.’

Seeing that Gu Ning’s hair was still dripping, Philinos said to Lanuo, "You keep an eye on things here."

With that, he took a blow dryer from one of the Beastmen, grabbed her by the wrist, and pulled her into the adjoining room.

Lanuo watched them go, giving a pained smirk. "So you just called me over to be a babysitter?"

Philinos ignored him. He closed the door and drew the curtains, blocking everyone’s view.

After making sure the door was locked, Philinos handed the blow dryer to Gu Ning. "Dry your hair. You get sick easily when you’re wet."

Gu Ning paused as she took the blow dryer. She stood and scanned the room, only now realizing it was here. It was smaller than the outer room... ’Wait, is the outer room supposed to be the living room?’

’But why are there two beds?’
