Chapter 353 - 315
Chapter 353: Chapter 315
The bullet failed to pierce the Black-winged Beastman’s shoulder.
The blue Crystal Stone Bullet shattered against his Silver Armor. A small dent formed where it hit, sending out a ripple of light, but an instant later, the dent vanished, leaving not a single trace on the armor.
More bullets followed, the force of the impacts driving him back two steps.
Crisp shattering sounds echoed in Gu Ning’s ears.
The gunfire seemed to be the signal to attack. Amid a spray of shattered blue light, Gu Ning saw countless figures pounce forward.
A red shadow tackled the Black-winged Beastman to the ground.
Seizing the moment of his distraction, Gu Ning broke free from his grasp. However, they were on the roof of a speeding train, and her roll sent her tumbling toward the edge.
Reacting in a flash, she grabbed a protruding bar at the edge. Barto lunged forward just in time to catch her as well.
Just as Barto started to pull her up, a silver flash sliced at him from behind.
"Watch out!" Gu Ning cried out.
Barto reacted instantly, rolling aside to dodge the attack.
A silver blade extended from the armored Beastman’s wrist as he pursued Barto.
Gu Ning gritted her teeth and kicked her legs, trying to climb up.
Halfway through her climb, she glanced up. The Beastmen on the roof were locked in a chaotic brawl, a mess of bodies where it was impossible to tell friend from foe. No one was paying her any attention. She looked around. A car door was just a short distance away, and below it, a window at the end of the carriage. A Beastman was sitting inside, watching a video. She stopped trying to climb and started kicking at the window, hoping the Beastman would see her and help.
Alex had told her that in an emergency, the doors and some of the windows could be opened even while the train was moving.
But after kicking for what felt like an eternity, the Beastman remained oblivious, his eyes never once leaving his terminal. Gu Ning recognized the video. Seeing the Beastman staring at the screen, face cupped in his hands with an infatuated expression, filled her with a sense of utter absurdity.
’Hey, could you just look up for one second! Your idol is right here!’
Frustrated, Gu Ning kicked the window a couple more times.
"Ning!"
Over the rumble of the tracks and the howl of the wind, Gu Ning heard Barto’s frantic shout.
Clinging tightly to the bar, Gu Ning yelled back, "I’m fine..."
The last syllable had barely left her lips when a flying figure swept her up into its arms and soared into the sky.
Her view of the world tilted as she was carried higher. Looking down, she saw Barto’s red form on the train’s roof. The Beastman in Silver Armor slammed him viciously to the ground, then grabbed him by the neck and hurled him aside, out of her sight.
"Barto!"
Gu Ning’s pupils constricted as she cried out in shock.
A second later, the shadow of a black wolf appeared in her vision. Barto was riding steadily on its back, racing in her direction.
Gu Ning let out a long sigh of relief, her limbs feeling weak from the scare Barto had just given her.
’Barto was fine, but she was in deep trouble.’
She was now being carried through the air by the same Black-winged Beastman, flying farther and farther from the train.
High in the air, she didn’t dare struggle. If he loosened his grip, she would be smashed to pieces.
She kept her eyes fixed on Alex and Barto’s figures on the ground, her mind racing to find a way out of this.
’This Beastman’s subordinates seem to be tied up with Philinos’s group... so he’s all alone...’
Just then, BANG! A bullet from afar struck the Black-winged Beastman’s wing.
He faltered in mid-air.
Hearing the gunshot, Gu Ning craned her neck and saw a spray of blood trail from his wing.
’So he’s not invincible after all,’ Gu Ning thought. ’His wings are his weak spot.’
"*&%#v," the Black-winged Beastman growled something in her ear, then pressed her head down against his shoulder.
The next moment, a blue light flashed before Gu Ning’s eyes. The bullet had missed, or rather, the Black-winged Beastman had dodged it.
Gu Ning saw more Beastmen giving chase in the distance. Unsure if they were allies with Philinos or accomplices of her captor, an idea struck her. She placed her hands on the Black-winged Beastman’s shoulders and pushed up, trying to disrupt his flight and slow him down.
As the Black-winged Beastman tried to pull her back down, she raked her claws across his handsome face.
That horrible, grating sound rang out again.
As if sensing her intent, the Black-winged Beastman’s Silver Armor flowed over his face an instant before her claws struck.
"*&o#-^..." the Beastman hissed, his silver-armored face turning towards Gu Ning.
"I can’t understand a word you’re saying, you damn bird!" Gu Ning cursed in her native tongue. Squeezing his waist with her legs, she kicked upwards, leaning forward to viciously slash at the root of his wing.
This time, her claws weren’t blocked by Silver Armor. They sank into his flesh.
Seeing a few black feathers drift down from his back, Gu Ning wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. Her goal was twofold: to stop him from throwing her off in a rage, and to try and suffocate him. Best case scenario, he’d get dizzy, lose the ability to fly, and they’d fall to the ground.
After a moment, she heard him take a deep, shuddering breath, followed by a low sigh of what sounded like... pleasure.
It was followed by another deep breath, and another sigh.
A deep breath. A contented sigh.
A deep breath.
A deep breath...
"..."
Gu Ning’s arms went slack.
’Is he... huffing me like a cat?’
But the cold arms around her only pulled her tighter, pressing her against his face. He began to nuzzle against her, sniffing her with a sense of desperate urgency.
Gu Ning could hear his breathing quicken, the sound of his sighs twisting into something else entirely.
"..." ’Shit! I’ve run into a pervert!’
She pushed desperately at his silver head. The moment her hand touched his face, the Silver Armor retracted. Then, he opened his mouth and bit down on her right glove.
"RRRIP—" He ripped the glove, which had been fastened at her wrist, clean open. Then, a long, slick, warm tongue darted into the tattered glove, licking her skin hungrily.
Gu Ning’s mind went blank for a second. Then, with an internal scream, she yanked her hand behind her back.
The Black-winged Beastman freed one hand and caught her retreating wrist. He bit the rest of the glove off completely, then began greedily licking her bare hand.
In moments, he had licked her entire hand, from wrist to fingertip.
Gu Ning was sickened and panicked. She couldn’t wrench her hand free. Seeing the Beastman was completely absorbed—so much so that his flight speed had slowed considerably—she swallowed her revulsion and let him continue, her eyes constantly scanning for the figures pursuing them.
She could now make out Philinos and several other members of the Bird Clan. But she could also see her captor’s accomplices closing in.
Just as her eyes were fixed on Philinos’s group, the Black-winged Beastman grabbed her face, turned it toward him, and ripped off her mask.
A long, wet tongue swept across her cheek.
Gu Ning: "..."
The Black-winged Beastman was panting softly. His once-impassive face was now alight with expression, his previously flat eyes shining with a startling intensity, as if he were about to devour her.
As if savoring a sweet treat, he licked her face again.
Gu Ning had reached her limit. She splayed the claws of her left hand and swiped at his face.
