Chapter 715: She Is Exaggerating the Facts

Chapter 715: Chapter 715: She Is Exaggerating the Facts

Rory Yves’s face twisted in anger at Clarence Sawyer’s words.

She clenched her fists, her voice laced with a threat. "You want to go crying to my parents? Teacher, are you that naive? They’re *my* parents. Do you really think they’ll believe you?"

Clarence Sawyer clenched his own fists, his face grim. He spoke each word with deliberation. "Rory Yves, I’m asking you one last time. Are you going to study or not?"

"And what if I do? What if I don’t?" Rory Yves said dismissively, her eyes full of contempt.

"Fine," Clarence Sawyer said flatly. "Then I’ll speak directly with Mr. and Mrs. Yves."

"Teacher!" Rory Yves cried out, stopping him. Her voice was tinged with tears. "I know I was wrong. Can you please give me one more chance?"

Clarence Sawyer paused and looked back at her. "Are you sure you’re going to take this seriously?"

"I’m sure," Rory Yves nodded, looking wronged. "Teacher, please give me one more chance, okay?"

Clarence Sawyer frowned, seeming to hesitate.

After a few seconds, he nodded. "Alright. I’ll trust you one more time."

A smile spread across Rory Yves’s face. "Teacher, there are actually a few problems I don’t understand. Can you explain them to me?"

Clarence Sawyer: "Okay, bring them out."

Rory Yves stood by the bed, workbook in hand. "Teacher, it’s these problems right here."

Clarence Sawyer walked over and looked down at the workbook. "Which ones?"

The corners of Rory Yves’s mouth curved up, a triumphant glint in her eyes. She pointed to a random problem. "I don’t get this one."

As Clarence Sawyer looked at the problem, Rory Yves suddenly yanked him, sending him tumbling onto the bed. A scream ripped from her throat. "AHH—Help me!"

Clarence was thrown completely off balance, dizzy and disoriented. The piercing scream made his eardrums buzz and ache.

He furrowed his brow and tried to get up, but a hand pulled him back down.

Immediately after, the door was pushed open from the outside.

Mrs. Yves ran in frantically. Seeing Rory Yves and Clarence Sawyer lying on the bed, her mind went blank for a second before she roared, "Clarence Sawyer, what are you doing to Roxy?! Honey! Get in here, quick!"

"Mom..." Rory Yves whimpered, her voice choked with tears. "I don’t want to live anymore, I really don’t want to live..."

Mrs. Yves rushed to the bedside and started beating Clarence Sawyer. "You shameless bastard! How dare you do this to my daughter!"

After venting her anger, Mrs. Yves pulled the hysterically sobbing Rory Yves into her arms. "Don’t be scared, Roxy. Mommy will protect you."

"Mom..." Rory Yves huddled in her mother’s embrace, choking out, "Teacher Sawyer is so scary... he... he put his hand down my pants..."

Clarence Sawyer stood to the side, looking at her in disbelief. He said furiously, "Rory Yves, don’t you dare make false accusations! You’re the one who pulled me onto the bed!"

Mr. Yves, who was standing at the door and had heard the gist of what happened, spoke in a heavy tone. "Call the police!"

Clarence Sawyer lifted his chin. "Fine, call the police. I have a clear conscience!"

Luna York was present for everything that happened afterward.

Hearing Renee Jennings’s account, she frowned. "So, in other words, Rory Yves’s parents don’t know the truth."

"But why was Mrs. Yves so certain? She said she saw Clarence Sawyer’s hand down her daughter’s pants when she opened the door," Sheryl Sawyer said, finding it strange.

Carmen Lane also analyzed the situation. "Mrs. Yves probably only saw Rory Yves and Clarence Sawyer on the bed. The rest is likely her exaggerating to make his actions sound worse."

"That’s a possibility," Luna York acknowledged with a slight nod. "It looks like we’ll have to question Mrs. Yves again."

She finished the last of her coffee and stood up. "I’m going to go interrogate Rory Yves now. Do you all want to observe?"

Renee Jennings nodded. "Sure."

Interrogation Room Three.

Rory Yves squinted from time to time, surveying her surroundings. The incandescent light overhead was making her dizzy.

’What the hell is going on?’

’Why did they bring me here?’

’Did that woman really get something out of Six and Number Three?’

CREAK. The interrogation room door was pushed open from the outside.

Rory Yves immediately turned her head to look.

Luna York and her colleague, Winnie Wynn, both in crisp uniforms, sat down across from her with serious expressions.

"Rory Yves," Luna York began in a level voice, "do you know why we’ve called you here?"

Rory Yves blinked, her heavily made-up face showing a dissonant innocence. "I don’t know. Didn’t you say there were still some things you wanted to clarify?"

"We did." Luna York studied her expression, a faint, unreadable smile on her face. "Are you familiar with Article 243 of the Criminal Law?"

Rory Yves shook her head blankly and smiled. "Officer, I’m just a high school student. I haven’t read the criminal code. And I probably never will, since I want to study acting in college."

"Article 243 of the Criminal Law concerns the crime of making false accusations to frame someone." Luna York smiled slightly. "Do you understand what that means?"

"False accusations to frame someone..." The smile on Rory Yves’s face froze instantly. "Of course I understand. But I don’t understand why you’re telling me this, Officer."

"Fabricating facts about another’s crime and reporting it to the police... is punishable by up to three years in prison, criminal detention, or public surveillance." Luna York’s tone was grave. "Rory Yves, you are a legal adult. You need to take full legal responsibility for your actions."

Rory Yves clenched her fists, forcing a naive smile. "Officer, what are you talking about? I don’t get it."

Luna York, holding a pen, tapped it on the tabletop. "Tell me again what really happened between you and Clarence Sawyer."

Rory Yves raised her voice. "Clarence Sawyer is my private tutor, but he doesn’t act like a teacher at all. He’s always touching me during our lessons..."

"Stop," Luna York cut her off, frowning. "Rory Yves, I said the *real* situation. Please be clear."

"I am telling you the real situation." Rory Yves batted her eyes. "Officer, Clarence Sawyer is a pervert!"

Luna York’s expression grew colder. "Rory Yves, did Clarence Sawyer ever assault you or not?"

"Yes!" Rory Yves’s answer was exceptionally firm. "He even bought condoms! He wanted to have sex with me!"

Observing from behind the one-way glass, Carmen Lane tutted. "This girl’s got some nerve."

"She does," Renee Jennings agreed with a slight frown. "It’s a little unexpected."

Luna York also hadn’t expected Rory Yves to be so completely unflustered.

"Are you sure he’s the one who bought the condoms?" Luna York asked again.

Rory Yves nodded. "Of course he bought them. Don’t tell me you think *I* bought them, Officer?"

Luna York’s eyes narrowed. She said in a low voice, "If he bought them, then why are your fingerprints the only ones on the condom wrapper?"

Rory Yves’s mouth fell open as her mind raced, trying to figure out how to answer that question.

Her eyes flickered slightly as she said hesitantly, "He... he forced me to open it. That’s why only my fingerprints are on it..."
