Chapter 676: Losing a Fun Companion
Chapter 676: Chapter 676: Losing a Fun Companion
Renee Jennings replied to Freya Sterling. Before she could text Michelle Fuller, she heard her bright voice.
"Renee! Sawyer!"
Renee Jennings turned to look. Not to be outdone, Sean Fuller also called out, "Renee, Sawyer."
The siblings sat down.
Michelle Fuller had him sit in the seat closer to Sawyer.
’Sawyer may not be looking for a relationship, but what if? What if she and Hank hit it off?’
Renee Jennings let the two of them order food, and while they did, she brought up how Freya Sterling had rented an apartment and was preparing to take Pippi back.
SLAP—
Michelle Fuller suddenly snapped the menu shut.
Renee Jennings saw this and asked, puzzled, "Michelle, what’s wrong? Can’t you find anything you like?"
"Pippi’s leaving?" Michelle Fuller asked, her brow furrowed.
Renee Jennings nodded. "But I haven’t given Stella a date yet. I plan to go back and see what Pippi thinks."
"Exactly," Michelle Fuller said with a serious expression. "Maybe Pippi has gotten used to your place and doesn’t want to leave."
Renee Jennings raised her eyebrows slightly, disagreeing. "I don’t think so. Pippi misses Stella a lot. He’s always talking about her."
Michelle Fuller propped her cheek up with her hand, her tone earnest. "If Pippi’s leaving, then we have to throw him a farewell party. We need to bring Ginny over to see him again."
A smile touched Renee Jennings’s eyes. She nodded. "Okay, we’ll do it just like you said."
Michelle Fuller turned her head. "Sawyer, will you be free to join us then?"
Sawyer paused for a second, then agreed, "Sure. If I’m free, I’ll go."
"Great." Michelle Fuller lost all interest in ordering, her mind already working on how to plan the farewell party. "Hank, take a look and see what you want to eat."
Sean Fuller placed their order and sat stiffly in his seat. His eyes would occasionally dart toward Sawyer next to him, his expression a little awkward.
On the way over, his sister had said some things to him, and now, just thinking about them made his skin crawl.
’Sawyer isn’t looking for a relationship. That’s just because she hasn’t met someone she likes yet.’
’Don’t be disappointed that she’s not looking for a relationship.’
’She might not be interested now, but you can *make* her interested.’
’How do you get her interested? Seduce her! Unleash your full charm!’
Sean Fuller shivered at the thought.
Sawyer was sitting right beside him. When she saw him shivering, she asked with concern, "Are you cold?"
Sean Fuller was mortified and quickly shook his head. "I’m fine. Not cold."
Hearing their exchange, Michelle Fuller instinctively glanced at Sean Fuller.
’Oho, is this kid already starting to use his charm to seduce Sawyer?’
When Sean Fuller met his sister’s deeply meaningful gaze, he felt both annoyed and helpless.
After dinner, before Michelle Fuller had a chance to ask Sean Fuller to take Sawyer back to the police station, he had already found an excuse and scurried off.
Michelle Fuller couldn’t believe he was such a wimp.
Renee Jennings was the first to get up. She said with a smile, "Well, let’s take Sawyer back to the station first, and then we’ll go home and see what Pippi thinks."
"Sounds good." Michelle Fuller affectionately linked her arm with Sawyer’s. "Let’s go, sis-in-law."
"Huh?" Sawyer blinked in confusion. "Michelle, what did you call me?"
Michelle Fuller: "..."
Her eyes darted, and she quickly tried to cover her slip-up. "I said Sawyer! What’s wrong?"
"Nothing, I must have misheard." Sawyer shook her head and smiled. "Let’s go."
As Renee Jennings watched Michelle Fuller walk away, a hint of resignation appeared in her eyes.

「Eastgate Villa No. 8.」
Dressed in a little tuxedo, Pippi was playing with his friends in the yard, a wide grin on his face. Even his steps had a joyful bounce to them.
"Pippi," Renee Jennings called out.
Pippi skidded to a halt, looked all around, then dashed toward Renee Jennings, his tail wagging furiously. "WOOF! Renee!"
Hearing this, the other furry children stopped playing too, their clear eyes filled with confusion.
"WOOF~? Why did Renee only call for Pippi?"
"MEOW~! Renee’s playing favorites!"
"WOOF! I’m going over there to ask what’s up!"
"WOOF! I’m going too!"
All at once, the furry children lost interest in playing and swarmed over.
Renee Jennings knew they were a bunch of little gossips. Shaking her head with a smile, she turned her gaze back to Pippi.
She crouched in front of the little guy and said with a soft chuckle, "Pippi, Stella got an apartment. She wants to take you to live with her."
At these words, Pippi’s round, black pearl-like eyes suddenly lit up. He yipped excitedly, "WOOF WOOF WOOF? Is it really true? Is my person finally coming to take me home?"
Renee Jennings nodded and asked in a gentle voice, "It’s true. When would you like to go back?"
The furry children who had gathered to eavesdrop, however, hung their heads in dismay.
’Pippi’s leaving?’
’It meant they were about to lose a fun playmate.’
The one who took this the hardest was Bella; its eyes were already glistening with tears.
Other than the two cats, Blueberry and Cici, the friend Bella had known the longest was Pippi. They were both white dogs.
Most importantly, Pippi had taught it so many things and always protected it like a true big brother.
Whenever it had a disagreement with the other playmates, Pippi would always take its side.
Blueberry also felt an indescribable sense of loss.
At first, it had been very resistant to new additions to the house, constantly on guard. But something Renee said had been a wake-up call, and it had slowly tried to let go of its resistance.
After that, as they spent every day together, that sense of distance faded. It truly came to feel that every single cat and dog was an indispensable member of this family.
And now, to suddenly hear that Pippi was leaving...
"WOOF! When should I go back?" Pippi tilted his head and thought for a moment. "I’ll ask everyone!"
After saying that, he turned around and saw that all his friends had already gathered around.
Pippi was still lost in the joy of his owner finally coming to take him home and didn’t notice everyone’s low spirits.
"WOOF! Renee just told me some great news! WOOF? You guys wanna hear it?"
The silence from his friends stood in stark contrast to Pippi’s passionate excitement.
Pippi looked around and gradually realized something wasn’t right.
Tutu, who was usually quiet, asked in a low voice, "WOOF? Pippi, are you that eager to leave us?"
The Ragdoll cat also frowned. "MEOW! You look awfully happy!"
Cici looked at him, sad and reluctant to see him go. "MEOW... Pippi, we’ll all miss you..."
Bella whimpered sadly, "WOOF... Big Brother Pippi..."
"That’s enough, all of you!" Blueberry spoke up, stopping the others who still wanted to talk.
Although it desperately wanted Pippi to stay, it also knew that doing so was wrong. They couldn’t prevent Pippi from returning to his owner’s side.
Besides, it had been agreed from the start that Pippi was just staying here for a while.
Pippi had been waiting for this day for a very long time.
They should be happy for him.
At this thought, Blueberry suppressed its own reluctance, lifted its chin haughtily, and did its best to keep its voice calm as it said, "MEOW. Pippi, congratulations on being able to go home."
