Chapter 669: You Go Out and Drive Him Away

Chapter 669: Chapter 669: You Go Out and Drive Him Away

Hearing the serious tone in Renee Jennings’s voice, DailyQuitter didn’t ask any further questions and immediately agreed. "Okay."

She got up, locked her bedroom door, and sent the address to Renee Jennings in a private message.

"Ms. Jennings, I’ve sent the address."

"Good." Renee Jennings nodded and pulled out a burner phone to send a message.

The livestream viewers were a little confused.

[What’s going on?]

[Host, what did Dottie find out while she was out?]

[This is getting serious!]

Only after sending the message did Renee Jennings explain, "A moment ago, Dottie saw Winnie arguing with that man. He secretly installed a camera in Teddy’s apartment... The man got furious and chased Winnie here."

DailyQuitter frowned, her tone dripping with displeasure. "He really installed a camera!"

[Damn, I’m scared that guy’s going to snap and kill someone...]

[Your friend is a real trouble magnet. Making a mess at your place... if something happens, your apartment will become a murder house!]

When DailyQuitter saw that comment, a cold sweat broke out on her back, and her face paled. "That’s terrifying."

The words had barely left her lips when Winnie’s shriek suddenly echoed from outside the door. "Benjamin Shepherd, are you insane? Why are you pulling my hair? It hurts like hell!"

Benjamin Shepherd had forced his way in before Winnie could close the door. He viciously yanked her hair, his eyes filled with malice and his voice terrifyingly grim. "It’s supposed to hurt. Today, I’m going to teach you the meaning of pain!"

Winnie’s scalp burned as he pulled. Her heart seized, and a belated panic finally set in. She stammered, "Benjamin Shepherd, let me go! Calm down! We can talk this out!"

"Wasn’t I trying to talk things out nicely?" Benjamin Shepherd roared. "And look at your attitude! You’re just a bitch who won’t listen to reason and has to be taught a lesson!"

As Winnie struggled, an idea suddenly struck her. She lunged with her hand and seized his crotch.

Without the slightest hesitation, she squeezed hard, her fingernails nearly digging into his flesh.

"AGHH—" Benjamin Shepherd’s agonized howl erupted as he instinctively doubled over, his face twisting in pain.

Winnie seized the opportunity to run deeper into the apartment. As she passed DailyQuitter’s door, she suddenly reached out, grabbed the handle, and frantically tried to push it down.

The door didn’t budge—it was locked from the inside. She gritted her teeth, banged on the door twice, then spun around, ducked into her own room, and quickly threw the lock.

Hearing the noise, DailyQuitter frowned in suspicion. ’Why is she banging on my door?’

Renee Jennings warned, "Don’t open the door."

DailyQuitter nodded. "Okay, I won’t."

[Your friend banged on your door? What’s she trying to pull?]

[That ’friend’ is definitely up to no good. Listen to the host and don’t leave that room, no matter what.]

"Yeah, I’m not going out," DailyQuitter said, listening intently to the noises outside the door. ’I think I hear footsteps.’

Clutching his injury, Benjamin Shepherd staggered to Winnie’s door. He pounded on it with his fist, the door shaking violently. BANG! BANG!

"You bitch, get the hell out here!" he roared, his voice full of violence but tinged with pain.

Winnie sat on the edge of her bed, growing more and more panicked.

Benjamin Shepherd looked like he had lost his mind.

Frowning, she thought for a moment, then picked up her phone and made a call.

Seeing the caller ID, DailyQuitter said softly, "Winnie’s calling me."

Renee Jennings said, "Answer it. Let’s hear what she has to say."

"Okay, I’ll answer it on my smartwatch." DailyQuitter picked up the watch from her vanity and answered the call. "Winnie."

The voice on the other end asked urgently, "Teddy, can you hear the banging on the door?"

"I can hear it," DailyQuitter replied. "What’s going on?"

Winnie explained, "You know how that guy came to the wrong apartment earlier? I was just trying to be nice and show him the way, but it turns out he’s some guy who’s into me, and he followed me back to your place."

DailyQuitter knew she was lying and asked coolly, "And then?"

"He tried to force me to be with him, and when I refused, he just went crazy..." A sob crept into Winnie’s voice. "Teddy, I’m so scared right now."

"Where are you?"

"I’m hiding in my room, and he won’t stop banging on my door! Can you go out and try to talk him down? I’m really so scared."

DailyQuitter: "..."

[Damn, just drop a friend like that already! So she’s scared, but Teddy isn’t supposed to be?]

[So toxic!]

DailyQuitter couldn’t agree more with the viewers’ comments.

’From this moment on, I’m done considering Winnie my friend!’

DailyQuitter replied emotionlessly, "Winnie, it’s not that I don’t want to go out there and talk him down. It’s just that... I’m scared, too."

"What do you have to be afraid of?" Winnie said, sounding perfectly self-assured. "He’s not after you, so you have nothing to fear. Besides, this is your apartment. You’re the one with the authority to kick him out."

DailyQuitter scoffed inwardly. ’I’m scared even if he’s not after me! Did you hear how furiously he was yelling? What if he decides to hit me?’

"He won’t! Please, Teddy, just help me out. Go kick him out for me, okay?"

"Alright, fine," DailyQuitter said, just to placate her.

Hearing her agree, Winnie breathed a sigh of relief and urged, "Okay, hurry up and go talk to him. I’m hanging up now."

[DON’T GO OUT!!!]

[Girl, don’t you dare do something stupid!]

[Teddy, use your head, will you?]

Seeing the frantic comments, DailyQuitter quickly explained, "Don’t worry, everyone. I was just placating her. I’m definitely not getting involved. Staying alive is the top priority."

’I’ve seen enough news stories online to know you should never get involved in your friends’ relationship drama.’

Winnie hung up. After waiting a while without hearing her friend go out to calm Benjamin Shepherd down, she grew irritated and called again.

"Teddy, why haven’t you gone out to talk to him yet?" she demanded.

"Sigh..." DailyQuitter sighed, her voice full of regret. "Winnie, I don’t think I can help you. I’m just too scared."

"You..." Winnie gritted her teeth, her tone becoming accusatory. "I’m supposed to be your best friend! Can’t you summon a little courage for my sake?"

"Winnie, how about this," DailyQuitter suggested. "You go out first. I’ll only have the courage to go if you’re there with me."

Winnie went silent. Outside, the furious yelling continued.

"You whore! You’ll sleep with anyone!"

"I must have been cursed for eight lifetimes to have ever met someone like you!"

"Get the hell out..."

Winnie bit her lip, a calculating glint flashing in her eyes. She walked to her door and called out, "Teddy, I’m out here now! Hurry up and open your door!"

DailyQuitter just hung up the phone.

Apparently out of patience, Benjamin Shepherd went to the kitchen, grabbed a cleaver, and began hacking viciously at the lock on Winnie’s door.

CLANG—

Wood chips flew. The lock was quickly mangled, exposing the lock cylinder within.

Shaking with terror, Winnie pinched her nose to disguise her voice and shouted anxiously, "You’ve got the wrong room! Winnie isn’t in here! I’m her friend! Winnie’s in the room across from this one!"
