The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 640: A Gift From My Ex-Boyfriend

Chapter 640: Chapter 640: A Gift From My Ex-Boyfriend

Mrs. Fuller could tell Michelle was just trying to cause trouble, but she played along. "What about the day after tomorrow?"

"The day after tomorrow?" Michelle blinked. "The day after tomorrow... Renee has to work."

Mrs. Fuller looked helpless. "Then what do you suggest we do?"

Michelle pursed her lips and mumbled under her breath, "Tough cookies."

Mrs. Fuller: "..."

She looked at Renee Jennings for help.

The corners of Renee Jennings’s lips curved up into a smile. "How about tomorrow morning, then? We can take Ginny to the dog park in the afternoon and then for a bath in the evening. Would that work?"

Mrs. Fuller gave her daughter a wry smile. "Michelle, do you think that would work?"

Michelle turned her head away. "Whatever."

Mrs. Fuller’s smile widened. "Then how about ten-thirty tomorrow morning?"

"That works," Renee Jennings agreed.

"Great." Mrs. Fuller picked up her phone. "I’ll let Serena know."

Michelle grabbed Renee’s wrist. "Renee, come on, let’s go upstairs."

Renee Jennings stood up and said goodbye to Mrs. Fuller. "See you tomorrow, Mrs. Fuller."

"Are you sure you don’t want to eat something?" Mrs. Fuller asked, still concerned.

Without looking back, Michelle tossed over her shoulder, "We’re not hungry. Go on and call your precious niece."

Mrs. Fuller sighed helplessly.

’It seems Michelle and Serena just aren’t fated to get along.’

Back in the room, Michelle handed Renee a set of pajamas and urged her to go shower. "After your shower, I’ll tell you all about that weirdo, Serena Summers."

After Renee went into the bathroom, Michelle found a set of pajamas for herself and went to shower in the guest room.

Lying in bed after her shower, Michelle started explaining why she hated Serena Summers.

"She’s my cousin, but she’s only about half a year older than me," Michelle complained. "When we were little, we used to play together, but every time she did something wrong, she’d try to blame it on me. Luckily, no one in the family ever believed her."

"At first, I was naive, but I got smarter as I grew up and just started ignoring her." Michelle scoffed. "And do you know what kind of drama she started when I ignored her?"

"What did she do?" Renee Jennings asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"It was so ridiculous. She would cry and say I was bullying her."

"And did anyone fall for her tears that time?"

Michelle’s lips curled into a smug smile. "Nope. After that, I rarely ever saw her. We only ran into each other at our grandparents’ birthday parties."

Renee Jennings thought for a moment, then said softly, "In that case, maybe you shouldn’t come downstairs tomorrow. It’ll just upset you to see her."

"No way." Michelle’s voice shot up. "What if she tries to bully you? I have to be there to keep an eye on things."

The amusement in Renee Jennings’s eyes deepened, and her lips twitched into a smile. "Alright, then. We should get to bed early so we have the energy to ’keep an eye on things’ tomorrow."

"Good point." Michelle rolled over. "Nighty night, then."

"Good night."

Renee Jennings set a ten o’clock alarm, but when she woke up, she found Michelle was already up and sitting at the vanity, putting on makeup.

"Michelle, why are you up so early?" Renee Jennings sat up, her eyes still heavy with sleep.

Michelle was setting her makeup with loose powder, her tone tinged with resignation. "Ugh, I actually fell asleep last night, but then I had a nightmare about Serena Summers and it made me so mad I woke up. I couldn’t get back to sleep after that, and when I went to the bathroom, I saw how terrible I looked."

Hearing this, Renee Jennings comforted her, "Don’t worry, you could pull several all-nighters and you’d still be a gorgeous, energetic girl."

"Well, that’s a relief." Michelle finally cracked a smile. "Renee, do you want to wear makeup? I can help you."

"I’ll just put on some primer, that’s it. I’m going to go brush my teeth and wash my face first."

"Okay-dokie."

They finished their makeup right at ten-thirty.

When they got to the first floor, Serena Summers was already sitting on the sofa with two pet carriers beside her.

She had abandoned her usual "hot girl" style and was dressed quite conservatively today.

A dark red blazer paired with high-waisted, wide-leg jeans.

Michelle had just had that thought when, a second later, she saw Serena start to take off her blazer.

Underneath the dark red blazer, she was wearing a black, lacy bandeau top, revealing her glowing, tanned skin.

Michelle: "..."

Mrs. Fuller, long past the point of being surprised by such things, made the introductions. "Serena, this is Michelle’s good friend, Renee Jennings."

She then turned to Renee Jennings with a smile. "Renee, this is my niece, Serena Summers."

Renee Jennings nodded at Serena Summers. "Miss Summers, hello."

"Hello." Serena Summers extended a hand toward her. "It’s a pleasure to meet you."

Renee Jennings smiled slightly and politely shook her hand.

Serena Summers: "Can I call you Renee?"

Hearing this, Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow and was about to say something, but Michelle cut in first. "No. Why are you trying to be so chummy? She’s not your friend."

Serena Summers looked at her, completely speechless. "Why are you so on edge?"

"None of your damn business," Michelle said, rolling her eyes.

Serena Summers looked aggrievedly at Mrs. Fuller, her voice tinged with a whiny, coquettish tone. "Auntie, look at Michelle!"

Michelle sneered, "What’s there to look at? Haven’t you ever seen a beautiful woman before?"

Serena Summers: "You..."

"Alright, alright." Mrs. Fuller cut in helplessly. "Can you two please argue later? Should we have breakfast first, or should we let Renee have a chat with the two cats?"

Michelle threw up her hands. "I don’t care. It’s not my neck on the line."

Serena Summers shot her a glare and tugged on Mrs. Fuller’s arm, whining, "Auntie, can you please make Michelle leave?"

"Sure," Michelle said with a fake smile. "Renee is my friend. She’s only helping you as a favor to me. If you make me leave, Renee will leave with me."

Renee Jennings chimed in at the right moment, "That’s right."

Hearing this, Michelle was instantly delighted, and the smile on her face became genuine.

Serena Summers knew she was beaten. She took a deep breath, suppressing her dissatisfaction. "Fine, whatever. As long as you two are happy."

Renee Jennings looked at the two cats in the carriers.

One was a Sphynx cat, wrapped in a cute little outfit with only its small head peeking out.

Renee Jennings thought the Sphynx looked a bit like an alien cat.

The other cat was a black-and-white Devon Rex.

The little guy looked a lot like the Sphynx, with the same small face and large ears.

Serena Summers opened one of the carriers and lifted out the Sphynx cat. "His name is Koko. He was a gift from one of my ex-boyfriends."

The Sphynx cat, Koko, meowed, "Meow~ The ex-boyfriend’s name was Koko, too~"

Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow and greeted the little guy, "So, do you like the name Koko?"

Koko shook his head. "Meow~ I don’t like it."

A hint of curiosity appeared in Renee Jennings’s eyes. "Why not?"

Koko: "Meow~ It doesn’t feel like it’s my own name."

"I see." Renee Jennings reached out and stroked his head. The texture was unusual. She said gently, "I’ll talk to your owner about getting you a new name, okay?"

Koko’s eyes suddenly lit up, and he meowed in pleasant surprise, "MEOW MEOW MEOW! Really? That’s great! I can finally have a name of my own!"
