Chapter 1147: Massive Order
Chapter 1147: Chapter 1147: Massive Order
If what Bai Xifeng said was true, then the storage rune completely eradicated their preservation dilemma! The food would not spoil at all, and he would not have to worry about his culinary masterpieces rotting on the road.
"So, here is the deal. I am going to hand over two storage runes to you right now. Your staff can place each dish inside the storage runes the very second it comes hot off the stove, keeping everything perfectly preserved until I come to collect the order tomorrow morning." Bai Xifeng explained her strategy.
"What?!" The manager nearly choked on his own breath in utter shock.
He had expected her to merely show them the storage rune as proof of her claims. He had never in his wildest dreams anticipated that she would casually offer to hand two priceless storage runes over to them on the spot.
"Young Lady... you do realise how storage runes work, don’t you? In order to utilise a storage rune, a person must first form a blood bond with it! Once that bond is bound to a person’s soul, the storage rune cannot be unbound or used by anyone else!" The head chef warned her hurriedly, assuming she was ignorant of magical items.
He was genuinely worried that this wealthy young lady did not grasp the astronomical value of what she was tossing around. Storage runes were priceless relics, and once bound to a chef or manager, they could not just be handed back to her like an ordinary leather bag.
"Of course I know that." Bai Xifeng nodded, looking at him as if he had stated that water was wet. "What I mean is that I want you two to bind them, so you can pack the hot food into the runes immediately after cooking. That way, the dishes stay fresh forever. As for the two storage runes that you blood-bind today... Well, they will remain yours to keep. Tomorrow morning, when I come to collect my food, you will simply pull the dishes out of your runes and transfer them into my personal storage rune."
"Wait... You are saying... these two storage runes will belong to us?!" The manager asked, his voice squeaking in utter disbelief.
"Yeah. After all, a single storage rune probably would not have enough capacity to hold the massive amount of food I just ordered, so I am giving you two. I hope that’s acceptable." Bai Xifeng said casually.
"Acceptable?! It is beyond acceptable! We understand! We completely understand!" The manager nodded frantically, his head moving like a wooden doll.
He was so wildly ecstatic that he had to resist the urge to pinch his own arm to make sure he had not fallen asleep at his desk. He and his head chef were actually about to become the proud owners of divine storage runes.
"How... how do we establish the soul bond?" The head chef asked eagerly, his eyes practically burning with excitement.
"Just a single drop of your blood on the surface will do." Bai Xifeng instructed.
Without a second’s hesitation, both men brought their fingers to their teeth, bit down hard until blood welled up, and pressed a crimson drop onto their respective rune papers. The instant their blood made contact with the paper, a brilliant, blinding light flashed across the surface. The mystical arrays shimmered with ancient power for a brief second before sinking quietly into the paper, signalling that the soul bonding process was complete.
"There, the bond is formed. You can test it out by storing an object inside and pulling it back out." Bai Xifeng suggested.
The manager and head chef immediately followed her advice. They picked up small teacups from the table, willed them into their respective storage runes, and then summoned them back out into their hands. Their eyes lit up like lanterns with unbridled joy as they confirmed that the storage runes functioned flawlessly, exactly as Bai Xifeng had described. They had actually acquired real, high-grade storage runes of their own.
"Alright, now that we have cleared up the preservation issue, let’s discuss the bill." Bai Xifeng stated, bringing their floating minds right back down to business.
"We will immediately grant you a massive fifty per cent discount on your entire bulk order!" The manager declared without a moment’s hesitation.
"Are you sure about that? Fifty per cent is quite a massive cut." Bai Xifeng raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"You have just gifted us two priceless storage runes! It is only right and fair that we offer you a heavy discount in return." The manager explained earnestly.
After all, even with a fifty per cent discount on the food, the sheer astronomical market value of two storage runes eclipsed whatever profit the restaurant would have made on a single order by a thousandfold. In his mind, offering a fifty per cent discount was the absolute bare minimum to repay her divine generosity, while cementing a flawless relationship with such a powerful benefactor.
"Well, if you insist, I would not argue." Bai Xifeng smirked, accepting the deal.
She then reached into her pouch once more, pulling out a small glass bottle and placing it gently onto the table. Inside the clear bottle were several shining, aromatic pills.
"What are these?" The head chef asked curiously, picking up the bottle to examine it.
"Energy Recovery Pills. Since your entire kitchen staff will be pulling a gruelling, sleepless all-nighter for me, you are going to need them." Bai Xifeng explained smoothly.
She was well aware that executing such a monstrous order overnight would be utterly exhausting. The chefs and assistants would have to slave away continuously to meet the morning deadline. Providing them with high-tier Energy Recovery Pills would ensure they stayed at peak performance without collapsing from fatigue.
