Chapter 1056: Want To Come Out Too

Chapter 1056: Chapter 1056: Want To Come Out Too

"Stop those bastards." Bai Xifeng commanded, her voice carrying an unmistakable, chilling wave of absolute killing intent. She gritted her teeth, her dark eyes flashing coldly in the gloom. "Protect Baihu. I can’t let a single one of them interrupt his breakthrough."

"Are you absolutely certain?" Baishe asked, seeking one final confirmation.

There was a much deeper, far heavier meaning hidden behind that simple, quiet question. They both knew that once he stepped outside the boundaries of this hidden division and unleashed his true, unrestricted power, his hidden existence would no longer remain a secret to the powerful, predatory sects of the world. There would be no turning back from the world-changing chaos it would inevitably bring down upon her head.

Bai Xifeng understood exactly what he was asking and the risks involved. Yet, her final answer came without even a single moment of hesitation.

"Yes. I am absolutely sure." Bai Xifeng gave a firm, unyielding nod.

"Very well." A faint, exceptionally beautiful smile finally graced Baishe’s cold, porcelain face. "I shall deal with the noisy people outside."

He slowly turned around, elegantly adjusting his wide, flowing sleeves, and faced the direction of the violently trembling barrier. His voice remained entirely calm, almost frighteningly, unnaturally calm.

Yet, the exact instant those casual words left his mouth, an ancient, terrifying, and completely boundless aura slowly began awakening from deep within his body. The peaceful, rustic atmosphere of the bamboo forest vanished completely, replaced by an overwhelming, suffocating pressure that seemed capable of physically crushing the very heavens themselves.

Even a master as seasoned as Ji Yuan felt his eyes narrow involuntarily as he sensed the sheer magnitude of the primordial power unfolding right before him.

Without another word, Baishe’s elegant human form dissolved into countless swirling streams of brilliant white light. A gigantic, awe-inspiring white python immediately manifested where he had just been standing. Its snow-white scales gleamed brilliantly beneath the filtered sunlight as its massive body gracefully and silently slithered toward the entrance of the Inscriber Division.

Then, without warning, Tao-chan suddenly popped out of the Mirror World ripple.

Bai Xifeng blinked in utter surprise at his unexpected appearance. For a brief, hilarious moment, she honestly thought the little glutton had only come out because he smelled trouble and wanted something to eat.

"Tao-chan, I am sorry." Bai Xifeng apologised quickly, offering a sincere wince. "I don’t have any food prepared for you right now. But I promise I will cook you a massive feast after this is all over."

"Oh, no, no..." Tao-chan shook his small head with a wide, mischievous grin. He licked his lips slowly before continuing. "I did not come out looking for snacks this time. I came out because of something else entirely. I sensed a whole lot of exceptionally powerful people gathering right outside our door."

His smile stretched even wider, showing a glint of sharp teeth. "Do you mind if I just eat them?"

Bai Xifeng blinked several times, momentarily stunned.

"Are you absolutely sure you can eat human cultivators of that level?" Bai Xifeng asked in genuine surprise.

"Well, actually, humans are technically still a part of my natural diet, even though they usually don’t taste very good and tend to string between the teeth." Tao-chan shrugged his shoulders casually, completely unbothered.

"Sure. Do exactly as you please." Bai Xifeng did not hesitate for even a fraction of a second.

Bai Xifeng trusted Tao-chan’s ancient judgment implicitly. With both Baishe and Tao-chan stepping up to handle the invading experts outside, Bai Xifeng immediately felt a massive wave of relief wash over her.

At that very moment, yet another loud voice suddenly echoed violently inside her mind.

’Xiaofeng! Xiaofeng!’

Only one of her contracted beasts ever called her by that specific nickname. It was Heishe. Right now, he was practically shouting at the top of his lungs inside her consciousness.

’Heishe, why on earth are you shouting so loudly?’ Bai Xifeng replied helplessly, wincing at the mental volume.

’I want to come out too! Let me out!’ Heishe’s telepathic voice was completely filled with manic excitement. ’I want to go out there and beat those arrogant humans to a bloody pulp!’

’You want to fight too?’ Bai Xifeng asked, a smile tugging at her lips.

’Yeah!’ Heishe answered immediately, his tail practically wagging in her mind. ’It’s been way too long since I last came out to thrash some human cultivators. I absolutely cannot let a golden chance like this pass me by!’

Bai Xifeng laughed helplessly, shaking her head. ’Fine... Fine... You can come out too. Go wild.’

The very instant she granted her permission, Heishe shot out of the Mirror World like a black rocket. Just like his counterpart Baishe, he had already transformed completely into his original, terrifying python form. His massive, obsidian-black body slithered across the ground at an astonishing, blur-like speed as he eagerly hurried toward the entrance to join the fray.

Ji Yuan stood entirely silent beside Bai Xifeng. Even someone as traditionally unshakeable and calm as him could not help but be left completely, utterly speechless.

He had already known for a while that Bai Xifeng possessed an extraordinary, rule-breaking number of contracted beasts. However, he had never in his wildest dreams imagined that three of them would actually turn out to be genuine, legendary Divine Beasts.

Baishe...

The mythical Taotie...

And now Heishe.

Not to mention the fact that one of them was the infamous, world-devouring glutton of ancient lore. For the very first time in many centuries, Ji Yuan genuinely and thoroughly wondered exactly what kind of despairing expressions those greedy outside experts were about to make once they saw three apex Divine Beasts standing shoulder to shoulder.
