After Ding Yuejun and Huang Yanquan finished their meal, they returned to the clothing store once more.
When Tailor Lü saw them come back, her eyes sparkled, but she quickly lowered her head, not daring to look at them too openly.
Huang Yanquan smiled at Tailor Lü, then looked at Ding Yuejun and said, "Why don’t you measure me?"
"Alright."
Since she was going to make clothes for Huang Yanquan, Ding Yuejun had to measure him herself. But when she actually took the tape measure to him, she realized they had quite a height difference, "Could you bend down a bit?"
"Of course."
Huang Yanquan smiled and leaned his upper body down closer to Ding Yuejun.
That’s when Ding Yuejun realized there was only a hands-width between them, and she could even hear Huang Yanquan’s heartbeat. She quickly straightened up and took a step back.
Seeing Ding Yuejun’s reaction, Huang Yanquan couldn’t help but laugh and then said, "Aren’t we measuring? Why stand so far away?"
Ding Yuejun was speechless, thinking the measuring should be quick, she moved forward to act, but what should’ve taken a minute or two took twice as long with Huang Yanquan.
"Alright, we’ll take a look at the styles later, you can pick one then."
"No need to choose, whichever style you think looks good on me, make that. I trust your taste."
Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun quickly said, "But you have to like it too."
"As long as it’s made by you, I’ll like it."
Huang Yanquan fixed a look on Ding Yuejun, speaking softly.
Hearing this, Ding Yuejun felt her face flush; she truly hadn’t expected Huang Yanquan to speak so... so flirtatious that it made her very embarrassed.
Seeing Ding Yuejun’s shy demeanor, Huang Yanquan refrained from saying more, afraid of frightening her, "Since everything’s sorted and measurements are taken, I’ll head back first."
"Okay."
Ding Yuejun finally came to her senses and hurriedly waved goodbye to Huang Yanquan.
After Huang Yanquan left, Tailor Lü came over with a smile, "Boss, you’ve returned after eating, I see Mr. Huang is getting more handsome, you two look so good together."
"Don’t talk nonsense, what do you mean by looking good together."
Tailor Lü saw Ding Yuejun’s flushed cheeks and felt she had hit the mark, "Boss, I’m being real, you two look really well-matched together."
"Don’t talk nonsense, I’m nine years older than Mr. Huang, how could we be well-matched. Alright, get to work now." Ding Yuejun calmed down after hearing Tailor Lü’s words and quickly sent her off to her tasks.
Tailor Lü opened her mouth, initially wanting to say something more, but seeing Ding Yuejun’s expression, she refrained, only said, "Boss, I’ll go get busy now."
Once Tailor Lü left, Ding Yuejun also got busy, keeping herself occupied so she wouldn’t overthink things.
Meanwhile, Yiyi started her new semester and gradually got busier. Their courses increased, and time became tighter than before, but when school let out on Friday, she still went home as usual.
"Yiyi, you’re back! Go wash your hands and then let’s eat."
Ding Yuejun knew her daughter would return today, so she came home early to prepare dinner, waiting for her to arrive so they could eat together.
Yiyi saw the table full of dishes and joked, "Mom, you prepared too much, just the three of us can’t finish it all."
"It’s alright, if we don’t finish, we can eat it tomorrow. The weather’s cold, we can keep it for a couple of days." Ding Yuejun said with a smile, and then went to call Old Master Ding.
But just as the three of them sat down, Gu Tingyu arrived.
Seeing Gu Tingyu, Yiyi was overjoyed, "Tingyu, why are you here, when did you arrive?"
Gu Tingyu didn’t say a word, instead, he looked solemnly at Yiyi and said, "Yiyi, can you come with me now?"
Seeing Gu Tingyu’s expression, Yiyi realized something was wrong, "What happened, what’s wrong?"
"It’s Tingting, she’s not doing very well right now, can you come with me to see her?"
Upon hearing this, Yiyi said nothing and stood up immediately, "Then let’s go right now."
Ding Yuejun saw her daughter hadn’t eaten yet, wanting her to finish first, but seeing Gu Tingyu’s urgent look, she refrained from saying much, only said, "Then you two go quickly."
Old Master Ding saw Gu Tingyu was truly anxious as well and urged them to hurry.
