Chapter 504 - 503: Agreeing
Chapter 504: Chapter 503: Agreeing
Upon hearing this from Huang Yanquan, Yue Jun instinctively rejected, "No, I’m going to be a bit busy later, so I won’t be going out for dinner with you."
Seeing Yue Jun’s rejection, Huang Yanquan was not much surprised but continued with a smile, "I really need to talk to you about work-related matters, rest assured, I won’t deceive you this time."
Seeing Huang Yanquan looking serious, Ding Yuejun hesitated a bit. If it were truly work-related, her refusal might cause a delay, so she eventually agreed.
Seeing Yue Jun nod, Huang Yanquan quickly led the way, "Then let’s head over. Don’t worry; it won’t take much of your time; it’ll be quick."
After reaching a restaurant beside the clothing store, Huang Yanquan began discussing garment supply matters with Yue Jun.
It turns out he invested in another drama and hopes that Yue Jun can provide the clothing.
Upon hearing this, Yue Jun was slightly surprised.
"Director Shao’s drama only started filming a short while ago; are you investing in another one already?"
Huang Yanquan laughed and said, "Being idle is just idleness; may as well invest in a few more. Hence, I came to partner with you again. However, this time the director is not Director Shao but an unknown one. But I’m quite optimistic about him. What do you think?"
Yue Jun did not immediately agree but deliberated, "I’ll meet the director first, understand the production team and script, then I’ll see whether to take it on."
Upon hearing this, Huang Yanquan nodded, "Yes, it should be this way. Let’s settle on that. I’ll bring him over to meet you in a few days."
Yue Jun nodded, realizing Huang Yanquan was genuinely discussing business, she couldn’t help but feel relieved.
However, unexpectedly after discussing business, Huang Yanquan started talking about other things, "Earlier, it was my fault for not informing you in advance before heading back early. But I had urgent family matters that forced me to return quickly."
Recalling all that happened upon arriving in Hong Kong, Huang Yanquan’s eyes flashed with somberness. The family members indeed spared no effort in creating trouble, but he swiftly resolved the situation with the most decisive measures. Hopefully, they won’t cause issues again, or he can’t guarantee he’ll consider familial ties anymore.
But there’s no need to discuss such matters with Yue Jun, so he only picked cheerful topics to tell her.
"Actually, New Year in Hong Kong is also very lively; perhaps next time you could consider visiting?"
Without directly refusing, Yue Jun said, "If there’s a chance next time, I might go have a look. Bringing Yiyi and the others along could be fun; after all, none of us have been to Hong Kong."
"Indeed, it would be quite nice to bring Yiyi and the others along, stroll around as a family."
Then he talked to Yue Jun about upcoming plans, "After returning, I’ll mostly be staying in Shangjing unless there’s an emergency to go back to Hong Kong. We could meet more often in the future."
The more Yue Jun listened, the more off it seemed. Huang Yanquan explained everything minutely and even seemed intent on staying permanently in Shangjing. This somewhat resembled...a typical couple’s interaction.
Just as she thought, Yue Jun immediately shook her head to dismiss the absurd idea.
Seeing Yue Jun’s action, Huang Yanquan assumed she had a headache and nervously asked, "What’s wrong? Are you dizzy?"
Upon hearing this, Yue Jun returned to her senses, promptly shook her head, and said, "I’m fine."
Seeing Yue Jun saying so, Huang Yanquan looked her over once more, finally relaxed, and curiously asked, "Was your home lively during New Year? Did you go out visiting relatives and friends?" He was eager to know about Yue Jun’s recent happenings, his face curious.
Initially, Yue Jun didn’t want to share, but seeing Huang Yanquan’s curiosity, she unknowingly divulged a lot. At the amusing parts, they exchanged smiles, but upon meeting Huang Yanquan’s gaze, Yue Jun belatedly realized, quickly averted her eyes, instantly turning red.
Seeing Yue Jun’s blushing demeanor, Huang Yanquan was momentarily stunned, staring blankly.
"What are you looking at? Quit staring."
Originally feeling awkward, Yue Jun grew even more self-conscious being stared at, hastily glaring at him to stop.
Instead of retracting his gaze, Huang Yanquan became even more enchanted by the mature woman before him, his heart racing. It’s been ages since he felt this way, realizing he, too, acts like a love-stricken youth unable to move his gaze away from the woman he fancies.
"You’re still staring?"
Yue Jun was somewhat exasperated and embarrassed, glaring fiercely at him once more.
Though she believed it fierce, to Huang Yanquan, it seemed still charmingly coy. However, he came to his senses, ceased the staring, and continued, "I noticed you have men’s clothing in the store now; could I order a set?"
Discussing clothing business, Yue Jun stopped overthinking, directly nodded, "Of course."
Originally, they had no men’s clothing in the store, but with increasing inquiries, she thoughtfully decided to launch a small range. However, their store’s menswear, naturally, leans towards ancient styles, carrying a vintage vibe. Today’s displayed set was freshly crafted by Tailor Lü and herself, which caught Huang Yanquan’s sharp eye.
"Though our store’s men’s clothing might...not suit you."
Typically, Huang Yanquan wears suits, making it hard to imagine him in vintage-style menswear.
However, he replied, "Just because I haven’t worn it doesn’t mean it’s unsuitable; perhaps it’s perfect for me. I’ll swing by the store later for measurements, and I hope you can personally make it for me." In the end, he looked expectantly at Yue Jun.
Seeing his hopeful gaze, Yue Jun instinctively nodded.
Coming to her senses, she hurriedly said, "Actually, Tailor Lü in our store is also skilled; she could..."
"But I want you to personally make it for me."
Before she finished, Huang Yanquan interrupted, smiling at her with earnest eyes.
Seeing him like this, Yue Jun eventually said nothing but agreed, "Alright, after we finish eating, we’ll head back to the store to measure you up." Ultimately, she consented.
