Chapter 673: The 6th Demon Bone
Chapter 673: Chapter 673: The 6th Demon Bone
Fang Lin didn’t hesitate and directly pulled out ten strands of ancient medicinal herbs, teasing them in front of the Thousand-Year-Old Corpse Ginseng.
The Corpse Ginseng’s eyes widened immediately, but it still tried to appear indifferent, saying, “If you want this master to help, first make up for all the ancient herbs you owe me.”
Fang Lin’s lip twitched, couldn’t help but curse, “Ten old herbs! Take it or leave it. Another word from you and I’ll walk away.”
The Corpse Ginseng glanced at Fang Lin: “This master won’t take the bait. Without twenty strands of ancient herbs, this master won’t help.”
Annoyed, Fang Lin pulled out another ten strands of the herbs, feeling very reluctant to part with them.
He didn’t have many ancient herbs. Although he obtained a considerable amount in the Hundred Beast Ferocious Mountain, he wouldn’t have many left if he continued to consume them this way.
The Corpse Ginseng, seeing the twenty strands of herbs, finally smiled happily, patted Fang Lin’s shoulder, and said, “The kid is teachable. It’s worth the effort I put into taking care of you.”
Fang Lin rolled his eyes, too lazy to speak with him, and threw him towards the altar again.
“Kid, twenty strands of ancient herbs, not one less! If you dare to deceive me, it will not end well with me!” The Corpse Ginseng yelled loudly, showing a generous and tragic expression, bracing himself to charge towards the altar.
“Come on! Aren’t you just tormenting me? Just do it to your heart’s content! If I don’t lose a single piece of skin, I won’t consider myself a hero!” the Corpse Ginseng roared, charging straight to one of the altars.
Hum!
A beam of light appeared and struck the Corpse Ginseng fiercely. It stumbled a few steps backward but still rushed forward facing the radiance.
The beam kept appearing, striking the Corpse Ginseng time after time. But even so, it charged towards the altar, resisting the attacks.
Seeing this, Fang Lin’s eyes also lit up. Although Old Pickle isn’t always reliable, he definitely comes in handy at crucial moments.
But before Fang Lin could celebrate, the Demon Bone floating above the altar suddenly lit up.
The Corpse Ginseng was just about to reach for the Demon Bone. Seeing this, he suddenly paused.
Right then, a giant ghost-like image of a wolf emerged from the Demon Bone.
“Damn it!” The Corpse Ginseng was startled and almost rolled down the altar.
The colossal wolf had three heads and seemed to be roaring at the Corpse Ginseng.
Fang Lin’s expression changed. This was a three-headed wolf. No wonder the aura from the Demon Bone was so extraordinary.
“It’s just an illusion, not real. Quickly bring the Demon Bone back!” Fang Lin feared the Corpse Ginseng might back out and quickly yelled.
Cursing, even though it was very scared, the Corpse Ginseng kept his eyes shut tight and grabbed the Demon Bone.
Boom!
As soon as the Demon Bone got into his hands, the Corpse Ginseng was hit with an immense force and flung backwards.
Fang Lin caught him and noticed he was clutching the Demon Bone from the Three-Headed Wolf.
“Kid, I risked my life this time. You better not go back on your words.” The Corpse Ginseng spoke weakly.
Fang Lin took the Demon Bone, replying impatiently, “You aren’t harmed in the slightest, stop pretending. Go get me the rest of the Demon Bones.”
The Corpse Ginseng went for the others while Fang Lin held the Demon Bone in his hand, a look of astonishment on his face.
This Demon Bone had a faint glow, its aura was very powerful and felt a little restless in Fang Lin’s hand.
“It doesn’t seem like a growth-type Demon Bone.” After observing it for a while, Fang Lin said regretfully.
“Indeed, it is not a growth-type Demon Bone, but it’s not bad. Do you want to fuse with it?” The Old Dried Corpse asked.
Fang Lin said, “Not so fast, I want to see how the other four Demon Bones are before deciding which one to fuse with.”
“Why don’t you fuse all five at once?” The Dried Corpse suggested casually.
Fang Lin smiled bitterly at his words, “I wish I could fuse all five at once. But it’s just too difficult.”
What Fang Lin didn’t say is that he didn’t have an eye for this kind of Demon Bone. What he wanted was a growth-type Demon Bone.
By this time, the Millennium Corpse Ginseng had retrieved another Demon Bone and put on a weak show.
Fang Lin didn’t even glance at him, taking over the Demon Bone and observing it.
“This is the Demon Bone of a Bear Demon King. Fusing with it can greatly increase a martial artist’s strength,” Fang Lin muttered to himself mentally.
However, to Fang Lin’s disappointment, this was not a growth-type Demon Bone either.
The other three Demon Bones were also retrieved one by one by the Millennium Corpse Ginseng. Looking at the Corpse Ginseng, it seemed extremely weary. This was indeed a tough job.
“Kid, I risked my life for you this time. I probably need to rest for a year or so to recover. Don’t call me for others’ help.” The Corpse Ginseng spoke weakly, but his eyes kept spinning around.
Fang Lin glanced at him, “You’re not harmed at all, stop pretending.”
While speaking, Fang Lin put all five Demon Bones into his bag, sighing in his heart.
All five Demon Bones were pretty good, all being the bones of Demon Kings. But disappointingly, none of the five were growth-type Demon Bones, which made Fang Lin a little disappointed.
If it were anyone else, they would’ve been overjoyed to obtain these five Demon Bones. But Fang Lin wasn’t content with ordinary Demon Bones. He wanted the growth-type ones.
“Kid, be content with what you have. Growth-type Demon Bones are extremely rare. If there were any, they would’ve been taken a long time ago,” the Old Dried Corpse said.
Fang Lin was about to turn and leave when the five altars collapsed all of a sudden, revealing a new altar.
The sight shocked Fang Lin and Purple Cloud Mink, especially the mink. It had been living in the Ancient Forest all the time and never expected there to be another hidden altar apart from the five.
This altar was completely different from the previous five, constructed entirely of white bones and human skeletons.
The moment this altar appeared, a violent aura exploded from it, like the anguished roars of countless dead people.
Above this altar floated a black Demon Bone, which gave off no light, and had no fluctuations of aura — it seemed very ordinary.
But this unremarkable black Demon Bone was the sacred object in this bone altar.
Fang Lin was shocked, and the Purple Cloud Mink stared dumbfoundedly.
“Damn, there’s another one! But this altar looks so terrifying.” The Thousand-Year Corpse Ginseng exclaimed in panic.
Fang Lin stared at the black Demon Bone, feeling his heart pounding, telling him that this Demon Bone was extraordinary.
“Kid, you must get this bone. This may be your biggest opportunity on this journey!” The Old Dried Corpse said, his tone grave.
