Chapter 1870: Chapter 584: Destruction or Protection (6k)_3
After confirming that this building was no longer able to struggle, Jin nodded and located the nearest battlefield to join the fight.
Half a day later, a piece of news quickly became sensational in the Starry Sky network.
"The famous commercial planet, Silver Cave Star, faced a large-scale insect swarm attack, with the Red Moon Church suspected to be involved..."
"This attack resulted in the death of many Transcendents on Silver Cave Star, with economic loss yet to be fully assessed, including a reclusive high-tier Extraordinary who fell during this incident..."
"After comparing footage on site, this high-tier Extraordinary is suspected to be the 6th Rank Magician ’Shadow Weaver’ from the Silver Star System civilization, where Silver Cave Star is located, a hundred years ago, whose main deeds were..."
"Furthermore, the planetary defense forces have reported a death toll of 17 6th-rank Transcendents, along with 5th Tier Transcendents..."
The attacks of the insect swarms have always been collective actions, almost as if pre-arranged to strike simultaneously on various planets in the Starry Sky.
Some have conducted analyses, indicating the timing of the insect swarm attacks had a discrepancy of no more than 10 seconds, primarily due to some swarms going unnoticed initially; most people believe they attacked simultaneously.
If only one planet were attacked, even if it were a renowned commercial planet in the region, it wouldn’t draw much attention.
There might even be some jealous scoffers gloating over the planet’s misfortune, eager to see a once thriving planet meet its demise.
The core reason for garnering attention this time is the allied appearance of an unknown high-tier cultist aiding the insect swarm!
"That believer seems quite powerful, but what kind of techniques are those..."
"Can someone explain the battle scene? It was too flashy and quick!"
"Here comes the knowledgeable one, that high-tier Extraordinary’s identity has been investigated, it’s a powerhouse from a hundred years ago, known as ’Shadow Weaver’, most adept at a kind of black shadow magic.
It was rumored back then that there was potential to breakthrough beyond high-tier, and later went missing, apparently secluded after the breakthrough.
The enormous black monster that was frozen in the end was due to Shadow Weaver’s ability, capable of launching attacks beyond one’s rank, but now much stronger, possibly reaching the power of the 8th Rank."
"Damn, isn’t that invincible? One move to instantly wipe someone out!"
"Tch, wasn’t the believer able to escape using some method in the end?"
"But haven’t you noticed, that kind of method seems familiar..."
.........
"Indeed, after our careful investigation and comparison, we found it to be very similar to Her Majesty the Empress’s ability."
Inside the Gemini Tower on the Imperial Mother Star of the Gemini Empire, a subordinate who had recently submitted a report presented the analysis report earnestly.
"Although there’s no detailed energy reading from the battle, we’ve compared various on-site data, and a method of freezing everything, suspected to be a superpower of the same type as Her Majesty the Empress.
This type of method is not common in the Starry Sky; since the Empire’s records began, only 13 cases have been discovered, with the most recent suspected case being Fan Mao."
"We shouldn’t mind her; Fan Mao’s method is unique and not truly mastered.
That’s the specialty of Fan Mao’s ’Life’ superpower, which, according to our assessment, seems to have the ability to replicate the powers of creatures and make them her own.
It should be strength she copied from some creature, markedly different from ours.
For this reason, I’m unwilling to meet her personally, as one cannot be too cautious with the ’Life’ superpower."
The Emperor shook his head.
The reporting subordinate understood the Emperor’s meaning, realizing that such judgments could only be made by the two Emperors themselves.
Being able to report to the Emperor meant he was truly a trusted aide, sharing a tacit understanding of the situations concerning the two Emperors.
With the superpowers of the two Emperors, along with the secret intelligence passed down in the Gemini Empire, such an answer was necessarily the result of deliberations between the two majesties.
"To think that believer could control such power...
Could it be that an Abnormal Object with similar powers has been acquired by them?"
The Emperor contemplated and speculated, an occurrence not uncommon in the history of the Empire, with half of those 13 records appearing in the form of Abnormal Objects, eventually all successfully reclaimed by the Empire.
Different Abnormal Object abilities share the same nature, but manifestations may vary; there have been once two items with a power-granting capability.
One was similar to an enchantment, greatly empowering weapons, the other could create superpower bombs leading to horrific explosions, making such occurrences expected of Abnormal Objects.
"This is unclear, even if one exists, it must be very well-hidden.
We are currently only conducting peripheral investigations; this Church appears weak but reveals no infiltration opportunities."
"Forget about it."
The Emperor waved his hand, as it hadn’t yet been a day, and he wasn’t an unreasonable Devil demanding the impossible of his subordinates.
"So, what about that believer from the Church?"
"This has already been investigated; the Red Moon Church once adhered to the rules as an organization, interacting with several neutral believer organizations, possessing much intelligence."
.........
"That believer can’t be understood, the Divine Arts are too difficult to discern, it only appears to relate to the Red Moon Church uploaded on the Shadow Network long ago.
It’s said the Red Moon Church was favored by the Red Moon, acquiring twisted life-related Divine Arts.
Some have attempted to summarize the Divine Arts."
"It can control creatures and even low-tier Transcendents to fight from weak times, further manipulating ’Red Moon Power’ and refining potions later on!"
