Chapter 1166: Chapter 10: Best Friends Forever
Zhang Mengfei looked at the menu. Fortunately, the items on it weren’t expensive. She ordered a cup of milk tea, taro boba milk tea.
When she looked up, she found that everyone else had already ordered.
The milk tea arrived quickly, and various snacks were also quickly served.
"Wow, that was fast. So efficient," Huang Shiyuan exclaimed.
"It looks so delicious. But, can we really finish all this?" Han Ting blinked.
"With Tianmiao here, we should be able to finish it," Zhang Mengfei suddenly blurted out.
"Hahaha, true, Zhang Mengfei is absolutely right," Han Ting and Huang Shiyuan couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
With Tianmiao here, no matter how much they order, it’s no problem.
Zhang Mengfei also started to laugh. At this moment, her smile was truly from the heart.
Ultimately, the table was filled with snacks. Pork chop rice, grilled lamb skewers, duck blood and vermicelli soup, three-delicious wontons, shredded pork stir-fried noodles, dandan noodles, radish pies, potato pies... You could say local specialty snacks were all gathered here.
At the end, Huang Shiyuan and the other two left leaning against the wall. Tianmiao was still holding a cup of milk tea, sipping on it.
"I’m going to gain another pound after eating today," Han Ting said with a sulky face, "That pork chop rice was so delicious. It was fragrant and crispy, and those lamb skewers, no gamey taste, so tender."
"I gained one and a half pounds," Huang Shiyuan glanced at Tianmiao still drinking milk tea, "Why do I feel like Tianmiao still isn’t full?"
"We really ate a lot today, everything was so tasty. Thank you, Tianmiao," Zhang Mengfei smiled sincerely and thanked him.
"You’re welcome. If you find it delicious, we can come more often," Tianmiao turned and waved goodbye to Dong Xiao and the others.
...
After this meal, Huang Shiyuan and Han Ting both thought Zhang Mengfei had opened up and was willing to get along with them.
However, they were mistaken.
In the following days, when they invited Zhang Mengfei to eat out or go shopping, she continued to refuse.
The semester was almost over, and winter break was coming soon.
As for exams, the people in Tianmiao’s dorm never cared, because everyone was a top student, including Zhang Mengfei.
Zhang Mengfei would go to the classroom for self-study and visit the library to read whenever she had time.
"Remember to keep in touch over winter break," Han Ting waved her phone and said to everyone.
"We will, we will," Huang Shiyuan said, "I’ll be active in the group chat every day. I’ll livestream sticking couplets and making dumplings for you guys."
"I’m not going back this year," Zhang Mengfei suddenly said.
"Ah? You’re not going back for the New Year?" Han Ting was a bit surprised.
"Mm, I found a temporary job here," Zhang Mengfei said.
"Alright, just take care of yourself," Han Ting advised.
Zhang Mengfei nodded.
During winter break, Huang Shiyuan indeed live-streamed sticking couplets, making dumplings, and the lively scenes at her home during the New Year in their group chat. Han Ting was traveling abroad and didn’t share much in the group chat but shared her experiences privately with Tianmiao and Huang Shiyuan, considering Zhang Mengfei’s feelings. After Zhang Mengfei got a smartphone, she added everyone from the dorm on WeChat, and Huang Shiyuan also added her to the group chat.
Tianmiao only occasionally spoke a few words in the group chat during the winter break. However, she would respond when Huang Shiyuan and Han Ting reached out to her privately.
The short winter break quickly passed.
When Han Ting and the others returned to the dorm after the break, they found a new computer on Zhang Mengfei’s desk.
"I worked over the winter break to earn money and buy it," Zhang Mengfei said.
"That’s great, having a computer will be so much more convenient," Han Ting said.
"It’s really nice," Huang Shiyuan looked at the computer’s desktop, "Oh, Zhang Mengfei, you’re playing this game too?" This game was infamously a money pit with many big spenders. How did Zhang Mengfei end up playing this game?
