Chapter 714: Vera is Angry (Part 2)

Chapter 714: Chapter 714: Vera is Angry (Part 2)

Nathaniel Nathan had actually come to the university once before. He had even gotten on stage to challenge Sheldon Caldwell. But it had been dark with poor lighting at the time, and he was wearing a military training uniform with a hat on, so Fiona Wright didn’t recognize him now.

Her first thought upon seeing Nathaniel Nathan was just how ridiculously handsome he was! Not only was he handsome, but his presence was also terrifyingly powerful. Although he was just standing there, calm and composed, a sharp aura radiated from him.

She took one look at him and didn’t dare to look again.

Vera was closest to Fiona Wright in their dorm, so she made the introductions. "Fawn, this is my boyfriend, Nathaniel Nathan."

Then she turned to Nathaniel Nathan with a smile. "And this is my roommate, Fiona Wright."

Nathaniel Nathan gave a slight nod. He was, at least, polite to Vera’s friends.

Fiona Wright froze for a moment before quickly averting her gaze. "Hello!"

When Vera had mentioned having a boyfriend before, Fiona had just laughed it off. She had assumed Vera was just trying to defuse an awkward situation at the time. She never imagined Vera actually had a boyfriend—and one who was so incredibly handsome.

She suddenly felt a bit embarrassed and scurried upstairs, water kettle in hand.

Vera couldn’t help but laugh at the sight. She looked at Nathaniel and said, "You scared my roommate."

Nathaniel curled his lip in disdain. "She’s just timid. What’s that got to do with me?"

Vera shrugged. "Well, I’m heading back to my dorm."

She had only taken a single step before he grabbed her by the wrist. Looking at her, he said, "Remember to miss me. And you’re not allowed to look at other guys."

Vera nodded obediently. Just then, the dorm supervisor poked her head out for a look. She was about to reprimand Vera, since public displays of affection between students in front of the dorms weren’t exactly mainstream yet.

However, before she could get the words out, she spotted Nathaniel Nathan. Her face filled with astonishment as she exclaimed, "Deputy General Manager Nathan?"

Nathaniel was also a little surprised and glanced toward the dorm supervisor. She, in turn, beamed with delight. "Deputy General Manager Nathan, it really is you! I thought I’d mistaken you for someone else!"

Nathaniel recognized her as well. "Ms. Bell," he said calmly, "what are you doing here?"

"It’s all thanks to you!" Ms. Bell said with a laugh. "If you hadn’t arranged for someone to help me find a job back then, I never would have been able to work as a dorm supervisor here at Veridia University. Oh? And who is this lovely young lady?"

"She’s my girlfriend," Nathaniel said flatly.

Ms. Bell immediately began to sing Vera’s praises. "So this is your girlfriend! She’s not just beautiful, you know. She’s also a great student and incredibly capable. A perfect match for you, Deputy General Manager Nathan!"

Vera was used to seeing Ms. Bell with a stern expression. Most of the girls in the dorm were afraid of her. If anyone wasn’t resting by the designated time or if a room’s cleanliness wasn’t up to par, she would immediately report it to the academic affairs office. The office would then pass the names to Sheldon Caldwell, which would result in a punishment of running ten laps.

’Vera realized that Nathaniel knew an incredible number of people. He had connections back in Yulara, and now it turned out he even knew a dorm supervisor at Veridia University. Just how many people had he helped to build such a wide-reaching network?’

Nathaniel said calmly, "She really is wonderful. I can’t come to the university often, so Ms. Bell, if it’s not too much trouble, please look after her. She’s timid and soft-hearted, and I worry she’ll get bullied."
