Chapter 2216 - 2260: Too Hasty
Chapter 2216: Chapter 2260: Too Hasty
Linglong’s delicate body trembled violently. "What are you doing?" she screamed.
"If you won’t give it to me, I’ll take it myself!" Jiang Fan declared, reaching out for it.
Linglong panicked. "Stop! I’ll get it!"
Immediately, a Space Storage Device flew out from her robes and hovered between them.
Only then did Jiang Fan withdraw his hand. "Take it out," he demanded.
"Don’t even think about it!" Linglong replied, indignant and humiliated. "That’s a treasure I worked hard to get! I was going to use it to break through to the Nine-winged Great Angel Realm!
"How could I just give it to you for nothing?"
Jiang Fan grabbed the Space Storage Device, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I am the most beautiful," he chanted. However, the Space Storage Device remained unchanged.
Linglong sneered. "Do you take me for a senile fool? Why would different Space Storage Devices use the same Spell?"
Jiang Fan stroked his chin. Given how narcissistic Linglong was, the Spells for her other Space Storage Devices should be quite similar. He looked down at her rather impressive figure, and an idea struck him. "My curves are the best," he shouted.
CLICK!
The Space Storage Device opened!
Linglong was dumbfounded. It... it was unlocked just like that? Panic quickly set in, and she wailed, "Don’t touch my treasures! Please leave some for me, don’t take everything!"
She knew all too well how greedy this bastard Jiang Fan was. Any treasure that passed through his hands automatically took his surname, without exception.
THUD.
Suddenly, her Space Storage Device smacked right into her forehead. She hastily caught it in her mouth and swept her consciousness inside. To her astonishment, other than the Holy Blood, absolutely nothing else was missing. "Did this kid have a change of heart?" she wondered.
She turned her head in confusion. Jiang Fan was preoccupied with holding the fist-sized drop of Holy Blood. In his other hand, he held a small, pitch-black iron basin covered in dents. He placed the Holy Blood into the basin, and a burst of brilliant light erupted from it. Inside the iron basin, one drop of Holy Blood had multiplied into two.
"Huh?" Linglong struggled, wanting to rub her eyes. She hadn’t blinked. How... how was there an extra drop of Holy Blood? "W-What did you do?" she asked blankly.
Jiang Fan tossed the original Holy Blood back to her. "Who cares about your shoddy Holy Blood? Keep it."
Linglong dazedly stored the Holy Blood, her eyes still locked in disbelief on the inexplicably duplicated Holy Blood in Jiang Fan’s hand. What confused her even more was when Jiang Fan brought the new Holy Blood right up to her lips.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
Jiang Fan rolled his eyes. "It’s your rations, obviously. If you don’t eat it, then eat your own."
It turned out he was feeding it to her! Linglong took a bite, drawing wisps of pure Holy Blood into her body. Her depleted Holy Power was instantly restored to its peak. Rolling her eyes craftily, she opened her mouth wide, trying to swallow the Holy Blood in one gulp. Unfortunately, the Holy Blood was as large as a fist; no matter how hard she tried, her small mouth couldn’t fit it all.
Jiang Fan found it both exasperating and amusing. "Do you think you’re a snake?
"Eat it slowly. This is all your rations for the foreseeable future."
He put the rest of the Holy Blood away, secretly delighted. With a drop of Holy Blood this large, if he duplicated one every day, just how much Angel Holy Blood would he amass? When the time came, he would give it all to Chaoge. That should be more than enough to make up for the loss of over half her Semi-Saint Holy Angel Feathers, right?
Linglong’s eyes lit up. She could eat this in the future too? She suddenly felt that being ridden by Jiang Fan wasn’t so degrading after all. Of course, she still had to get her revenge. Once she broke free, she would definitely snatch Jiang Fan’s Holy Blood, steal that damn basin, and strip him of everything he had. Then she would string him up and beat him mercilessly for two months—no, two years!
"Since you’re full, it’s time to set off! Giddy up!" Jiang Fan grabbed her hair and steered his human steed forward.
Several days later.
Above the World of Darkness.
Dressed in white as pure as snow, the ethereal Snow Maiden tore through the world barrier and emerged in the Void. Under her beautiful gaze, a massive emerald-green leaf sped over at the speed of the Three Calamities Realm, stopping right in front of her. Two breathtakingly beautiful young girls with strikingly similar features hopped down from the leaf. It was Yu Yan and Yu Mian, who had rushed back non-stop from the Martial Vault.
"Mother!" Her face brimming with coquettishness, Yu Mian pounced into Snow Maiden’s arms, nuzzling her head against her chest. "I missed you to death!"
Yu Yan also walked over and offered a slight bow. "Mother."
Snow Maiden looked at her two daughters. Her youngest was as mischievous as ever, but her eldest seemed rather sullen. "Did Widow Wolf upset you?" Snow Maiden asked.
Yu Yan shook her head. "It’s nothing. It’s all in the past now."
Remembering the incident, Yu Mian said angrily, "Mother, that Widow Wolf is a bad seed! He deceived us..." She briefly explained what had happened.
Upon hearing this, Snow Maiden was furious. "How dare Widow Wolf Sage sell out my daughters!
"I will definitely settle this score with him!"
Her expression shifted to one of guilt and profound relief. "Thank goodness you ran into Jiang Fan. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable." Deep gratitude surged in her heart. Jiang Fan had helped the World of Darkness and her daughters far too much.
"Wasn’t it all thanks to Jiang Fan?" Yu Mian agreed. "If not for him, my sister and I might have ended up as some mighty figure’s playthings by now."
Snow Maiden comforted them, "I won’t let you leave my side ever again."
Yu Mian smiled radiantly, unfazed by the ordeal, but Yu Yan remained weighed down by her thoughts, looking deeply unhappy.
"Yu Yan, are you still brooding over it?" Snow Maiden asked softly. "It’s all over now."
Yu Yan remained silent.
Yu Mian, however, offered a teasing half-smile. "Mother, my sister isn’t hung up on that scumbag Widow Wolf.
"She’s upset because the hero who saved the damsel in distress turned out to be Jiang Fan.
"At her most humiliating and desperate moment, Jiang Fan was like a ray of light that pulled her out of the darkness. She was so moved that she wanted nothing more than to pledge her life to him.
"Unfortunately, fate plays cruel jokes. Her great hero was Jiang Fan, hehe."
Yu Yan’s face changed colors. "What nonsense are you spouting?" she scolded. "I’m upset because he’s always there when I’m at my most wretched!"
She had never been willing to submit to Jiang Fan. Yet, ironically, Jiang Fan was the one who had helped her the most! This made her incredibly uncomfortable, leaving a much deeper sting than Widow Wolf Sage’s betrayal.
It was as if Snow Maiden had suddenly been awakened. Her gaze darted between her two fairy-like daughters as she murmured, "I’ve been so foolish. Why didn’t I think of this before?
"Isn’t Jiang Fan far more reliable than that Widow Wolf Sage?"
Yu Yan’s expression stiffened. "Mother, why are you joining in on the nonsense?" she said frantically.
Snow Maiden opened her mouth to reply, but suddenly sensed something and looked toward the horizon. Her expression instantly froze.
"Mother, what do you see?" Yu Mian asked.
Snow Maiden replied uncertainly, "I think I just saw Jiang Fan fly past.
"He... seemed to be riding a woman as he flew?"
Huh?
Yu Mian tilted her head in confusion, and Yu Yan looked equally blank. No matter how hard they tried to picture it, they simply couldn’t imagine what a person riding another person through the sky would look like.
At the edge of the Void.
Linglong flapped her wings and flashed past.
"Young Master Jiang, it’s time to replenish my Holy Blood." Linglong turned her head with a beaming smile.
Jiang Fan took out the mostly gnawed Holy Blood and generously fed the rest to her. "Take it."
Over the past six days, he had duplicated six large drops of Angel Holy Blood. It was more than enough for Chaoge. And ever since the Holy Blood had been introduced, Linglong had become much more obedient. She no longer complained about being tired or grumbled about her situation. She even respectfully addressed him as "Young Master Jiang" with every breath. She couldn’t have been more well-behaved.
However, the little schemes brewing in her heart couldn’t escape Jiang Fan’s eyes.
