Supreme Emptiness

Chapter 2215 - 2259: Provisions

Chapter 2215: Chapter 2259: Provisions

Jiang Fan narrowed his eyes. "So, are you going to fly or not?"

Linglong writhed and screamed, "No, no! I’ll die before I fly for you!"

Fine!

Jiang Fan untied Linglong from the rack and brought her out of the Space Mirror. She squirmed like a caterpillar, cursing relentlessly, "You bastard! Don’t even think about using me!"

Jiang Fan didn’t say a word. He just flipped her face-down. Then, he mounted her, sitting squarely astride her waist.

"Ah! What are you doing? Get the hell off me!" Linglong was anxious and infuriated, struggling and twisting non-stop.

SMACK!

Jiang Fan slapped the back of her head with a backhand strike. "Behave! If you keep thrashing around, I’ll bring out the Big Black Stick!"

Having already suffered under the Divine Wood, Linglong shuddered. She gritted her teeth, a mix of shame and anger on her face. "You dare treat me like this?! I’m telling you, you and Chaoge are completely finished!"

Jiang Fan shot her a sideways glance. Why did this woman always bring up Chaoge? His relationship with Xia Chaoge was a perfectly pure master-and-disciple bond, completely devoid of any romantic entanglement. Besides, even if there really was something between him and Xia Chaoge, that would be for Chaoge’s parents to decide. What did it have to do with the woman in front of him?

He turned his head to look at the horizon, where the crimson hue was growing even more intense. He didn’t dare delay any longer. Taking out the Great Dream Demon Venerable’s nail, he lightly sliced down Linglong’s back, opening a long slit.

Eight pairs of massive, golden wings were instantly released, unfurling in all their glory.

The Great Dream Demon Venerable had warned him not to make the cut too large, or else Linglong might be able to break free. Now that a slit spanning her entire back had been opened, this cocoon of silk wouldn’t be able to hold her for long. However, as long as they could escape the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis, it would be worth it.

Feeling her wings freed, Linglong surged with excitement. Her eyes darted around, and she abruptly flapped all eight pairs of wings, unleashing a terrifying burst of speed as she shot forward violently. She hoped this sudden maneuver would throw off the unprepared Jiang Fan. That way, she could finally escape.

Instead, a sudden tightness gripped her waist and neck! Jiang Fan had anticipated her move. He clamped his legs around her waist and reached out to hug her neck tightly, plastering his entire body against her back!

No matter how fast she sprinted or how wildly she rolled in the air, Jiang Fan stuck to her like glue.

"Ah! Get your filthy paws off me!" Linglong came to a sudden halt, screaming frantically.

Jiang Fan raised his hand and smacked her head again. "I knew you wouldn’t behave!"

He truly couldn’t relax his guard around this woman for a single second.

Linglong was livid. "Don’t even think about making me help you escape! I want to watch you die right in front of me!"

Jiang Fan remained unbothered, hugging her even tighter. "Fine by me. Let the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis kill us both with one strike of his Blood Spear then."

"You..." Linglong gnashed her teeth, a grating sound echoing from her mouth. She spat viciously, "Then we’ll die together! I’d rather take you down with me than let you live!"

Jiang Fan merely smiled and comfortably laid his head against her.

The Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis was getting closer. The entire edge of the cosmos seemed dyed in blood as layers of thick, crimson aura bore down on them. Faintly, a rising, blood-red sun could be seen in the distance.

Linglong’s eyelids twitched violently. That was the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis; his strength was no joke. If he truly struck, she would die on the spot.

"Hey, the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis is coming. Aren’t you going to run?" Linglong asked, feigning calmness.

Jiang Fan rubbed his head against her neck. "I’m not running. I’m going to die right here with you."

Linglong clenched her jaw, thinking to herself, "You little bastard! I refuse to believe you’re really willing to throw your life away! Let’s see who outlasts who!"

And so, Jiang Fan didn’t move, and neither did Linglong. It was a standoff.

The bloody aura on the horizon drew closer by the second, and a blood-red moon visibly hurtled toward them at breakneck speed. Within the crimson glow, a majestic White Bone Warhorse faintly materialized. Atop it sat a burly figure in a black cape, radiating an apocalyptic, malevolent aura. In his hand gleamed a terrifying point of bloody light.

It was the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis’s Blood Spear!

He was about to attack!

Linglong’s heart shuddered violently. While Jiang Fan had dealt with the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis enough times to keep his composure, this was Linglong’s first time facing the legendary figure head-on. She was genuinely terrified.

Her lips trembled slightly before she cursed, "You damn brat, you win! Which way do we run? Tell me, now!"

Her life was more important; she would strategically surrender for now and severely punish him later!

Jiang Fan secretly let out a sigh of relief. This woman had finally caved! He sat up, grabbed a handful of her hair in each hand, and yanked it to the left. "Head northeast!"

HISS!

Linglong’s scalp stung as her head was forcibly wrenched to face the northeast. Furious, she shrieked, "Jiang Fan! You son of a bitch! What do you take me for?!"

Jiang Fan gripped the reins—oh wait, the hair—and clamped his legs down hard. "Giddy-up!"

"Ahhh!" He was actually riding her like a horse!

If thoughts could kill, Jiang Fan would have already died ten thousand times over! Ten thousand times!

Feeling the monstrous, murderous intent bearing down from behind, Linglong simultaneously screamed curses and furiously flapped her wings to flee.

SWISH!

Light and shadows blurred into streaks around them. Asteroids in the Void flashed past like mere phantoms.

Jiang Fan was deeply astonished. Even when pushed to its absolute limit, the Void Feather Robe’s speed couldn’t match half of Linglong’s pace. And she was only an Eight-winged Archangel. No wonder Jiang Fan hadn’t been able to outrun the East Emperor Great Angel’s pursuit back when he wielded the Heart of Ten Thousand Earths. When it came to flying in the Void, the Angel Clan were truly the uncrowned kings.

Behind them, the silhouette of the Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis was rapidly shrinking into the distance.

They were safe for now. The only question was how long this silk cocoon could keep Linglong under control. He had already noticed that, due to the high-speed vibrations of her wings, the cocoon near their base was showing signs of loosening. Once it loosened significantly, Linglong would be able to break free entirely. When that time came, she would definitely settle all her old and new scores with him.

Well, he would just ride her for as long as he could!

Three days later.

Linglong’s speed gradually slowed down. By now, they were far from the Martial Vault, having traveled from the northernmost reaches of the cosmos to the center of the northern sector. In just three short days, they had crossed a quarter of the entire heavens. Such blistering speed was truly staggering.

"Why are you stopping? Giddy-up! Giddy-up!" Jiang Fan said, tugging at her hair.

Linglong snapped her head around, glaring viciously. "Even a real horse needs to eat some fodder and drink some water, doesn’t it?!"

Only then did Jiang Fan realize that Linglong had exhausted herself. Frowning, he asked, "How long will it take for you to recover?"

The Chaotic Ancient Blood Marquis might not have given up the chase, and there was no way to know how far behind he was. Perhaps he was leagues away. Perhaps he would catch up in the very next second.

"At least a day," Linglong replied, closing her eyes to silently regulate her breathing.

How could Jiang Fan wait for an entire day? "Is there no faster way?"

Linglong scoffed. "Holy Blood would do it, but can you afford to give it?"

Oh? The Holy Blood of the Angel Clan? That... he actually had a way to procure.

"What about that drop of Holy Blood you got in the Heavenly Secret Realm? Let me use it."

Jiang Fan could absolutely use the Dog Bowl to duplicate a drop.

Linglong fumed, "You expect the horse to run without feeding it, and now you expect the horse to bring its own fodder?!"

"Are you going to give it to me or not?" Jiang Fan demanded.

"No! I wouldn’t give it to you even if I died!" Linglong said stubbornly.

Without another word, Jiang Fan slipped his hand into the tear in the silk and reached toward her bosom to search for it himself.
