Even though Su Qing said she was very capable and had beaten up the two men, the Li family was still worried. This time it was two men, but what if there were more next time? After all, two fists are no match for four hands. No matter how skilled one person is, they can’t fend off a human wave.

"No. From now on, call ahead before you come back, and I’ll have someone pick you up," Mr. Li said. "You two don’t get a say in this. It’s decided."
"That’s right, it’s decided," Mrs. Li added, agreeing it was the safer option.
Su Qing didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The two elders were really treating her like a fragile porcelain doll. Honestly, with her current strength, no one in this world was her match. Even firearms couldn’t harm her. After all, the hundred-meter radius around her was her Domain. Within it, no person or object could harm her.
But she obviously couldn’t tell the Li family any of this. Even if she did, they would probably just think she was crazy and spinning some wild fantasy. ’Oh well,’ she thought, ’it’s better not to worry the two elders.’
"Alright, we’ll listen to Grandma and Grandpa," Su Qing had no choice but to reply with a smile.
Beside them, Li Wan and Shang Yuqi both breathed a sigh of relief. Just listening to the story had made their hearts pound with fear. If Su Qing didn’t have some Combat Power, wouldn’t the two girls have been kidnapped?
Li Fenghuo and Gu Xinsheng, however, were thinking further ahead. With this in mind, Li Fenghuo made a special call to the Public Security Bureau where Su Qing had filed the report. He demanded a rigorous investigation into the matter and insisted that the gang behind the two men be brought to light.
The officers at the Public Security Bureau already held the two men’s actions in contempt. Now that they had received a call from a superior demanding a thorough investigation, they would naturally handle the case with even more diligence.
After lunch at the Li family’s home, Su Qing passed out the pastries she had brought for everyone as a post-meal dessert. This time, Su Qing had blended a single vine leaf into the pastries. She didn’t dare add too much, mainly for fear the effect would be too potent and arouse suspicion. One leaf each time was just right; their bodies would improve gradually, and no one would become suspicious.
Even if Mrs. Li’s chronic ailments were to completely heal in the future, it would be impossible for anyone to trace it back to her.
"As expected, the pastries Qingqing makes are just delicious." Mrs. Li took a bite and felt a sense of comfort wash over her body and mind. She wasn’t sure if it was just because she was happy, but she felt her energy improve significantly. For years, she had been tormented by her ailments. Besides the headaches, she often suffered from aches and pains all over her body and wasn’t in the best of spirits. She had just been enduring it all so as not to worry her children.
"Not bad." Mr. Li wasn’t fond of pastries, finding them cloyingly sweet, but since his granddaughter had made them by hand, he had to at least try one out of respect. But after one bite, he found the pastry was actually quite delicious, very different from the ones sold in stores, and he immediately nodded with a smile.
"Grandma, Grandpa, don’t be reluctant to eat these. I’ll make some more and bring them back for you every week," Su Qing said with a smile.
"Ai, alright! Since my granddaughter made them, I’ll definitely eat them." Mrs. Li was so happy she stroked Su Qing’s hair and said with a chuckle, "Don’t you worry, I’ll keep an eye on your grandpa, too. If he doesn’t eat them, I’ll give him a thump."
Mr. Li couldn’t help but mutter, "I love my granddaughter’s pastries. I don’t need you to keep an eye on me."
Hearing the two elders’ banter, everyone burst out laughing. Su Qing chuckled softly, and faint wisps of green mist, invisible to the naked eye, slowly seeped into the bodies of each Li Family member. Everyone felt a sudden surge of energy, but they just assumed it was because they were happy and didn’t think much of it.
Su Qing lowered her gaze slightly. ’The Li family members are all very good to me, so of course, I’m willing to do these things for the people who cherish me.’
The phone in the living room rang. It was a call from the Public Security Bureau.
Su Qing was surprised the two men had confessed so quickly. No, that wasn’t quite right. Rather, one of them had confessed very quickly—the one whose leg she had nearly broken with two pebbles.
During the police interrogation, it only took a few words before he confessed everything. He was crying his eyes out, saying he was afraid Su Qing would beat him again if he didn’t confess. This made every officer on the case wonder silently just how vicious the little girl who beat him up could be. ’Look at this grown man. What could have scared him this badly?’
The man’s confession made the officers’ brows furrow in concern, so a call was made to the Li family home.
Li Fenghuo answered the phone. After he hung up, his brow was furrowed so deeply you could have crushed a fly in the creases.
"What did the Public Security Bureau say?" Mr. Li asked quickly, seeing the look on Li Fenghuo’s face.
Li Fenghuo’s face was flushed with anger. "They confessed," he said. "This whole thing was targeted specifically at Qingqing. Someone gave them information on her. The plan was to kidnap her and sell her off to someone in the mountains."
"What?!" Li Wan exploded, shooting to her feet. "Who did it?"
Li Wan was overwhelmed with a mix of shock and terror, a chilling fear creeping into her heart. This was her only daughter. For so many years, mother and daughter had been forced to live apart. Now that they were finally reunited, someone was trying to do this to her Qingqing. How could Li Wan not be furious?
"Xiao Wan, calm down." Seeing her state, Gu Xinsheng quickly tried to soothe Li Wan. "Don’t worry. We absolutely will not let anything happen to Qingqing."
"Fenghuo, hurry and tell us, who did it?" Mrs. Li urged.
"They said it was a man named Hei San," Li Fenghuo explained. "This Hei San just assigns them their tasks. They’re part of a much larger gang that does more than just human trafficking. They’re into loan-sharking and other things. Basically, they’ll do anything that makes a quick buck. They have no bottom line."
"A gang like that must be eradicated." Mr. Li’s anger flared as he listened, and he slammed his hand on the table. "They’re an absolute menace."
