Chapter 487: Extra 1 — Logan Langdon
The moment the system announced he could leave it, an item Master Veridian had obtained automatically activated and began to tempt him.
[Don’t you want to avenge your second disciple? Even with an Invasion Card, you’ll never be able to track him down once you leave the system. But I’m different. I can pinpoint Logan Langdon and pull him directly into our world. All you need to do is agree to use me.]
Master Veridian’s mind was still at peace; he appeared completely unmoved.
[Master, you should think this through. Following the Sea Survival System will only move you all to another large region. It can help you increase your strength, and so can I. But the biggest difference between me and it is that our side needs a Mystic Sect expert like you.]
[It’s a world overrun by the bizarre, with rules everywhere. Logan Langdon isn’t exactly someone who likes to play by the rules. If you just guide him into breaking one, he’ll be obliterated, and you’ll have your revenge. We’re not asking you to be an ordinary player, either. We’re offering you a position as an administrator with special privileges. Won’t you reconsider?]
[How about this? If you agree, I can give each of your other two disciples a Life-saving Token.]
The system didn’t give him much time to choose. In the end, Master Veridian seemed to be persuaded.
Having received two Substitute Death Cards, he handed them directly to Zephyr Sterling. “Finn, when you get to the new place, remember to give the other one to Gavin. You all must take care of yourselves from now on.”
“Master…”
Zephyr Sterling had so many questions, but his master simply vanished before his eyes.
He looked at the wooden token in his hand. [Bizarre Substitute Death Card: When you encounter a fatal situation, this will automatically activate, and you will be randomly teleported to a safe point (Bound user: Zephyr Sterling)]
The second token had the same description, only the bound user was his junior, Gavin Donovan.
“Master, what have you done? Where did you go?”
Meanwhile, Nina, who had been supporting Logan Langdon, was also bewildered. ‘Where did he go?’
‘How could a grown man just disappear like that?’
If it weren’t for the mouthful of blood Logan Langdon had spat on the ground earlier, Nina would have thought she was misremembering things.
“Someone, help! Logan is missing!”
Soon, the sound of footsteps echoed as four women, each with a distinct look, appeared and immediately started questioning Nina.
“Where’s Logan?”
“The two of you were just together. You didn’t hide him somewhere, did you?”
“You don’t think Chloe secretly came and got Logan, do you?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. That Fox Spirit doesn’t have time to get Logan right now. Besides, all of his things are still here, except for what he usually carries with him.”
After searching back and forth several times, the women looked at each other, forced to admit that Logan Langdon had simply vanished, leaving everyone and everything behind.
Just as bewildered as they were was Logan Langdon, who was suddenly awoken by a tap on his shoulder.
When he opened his eyes, he was met with an unfriendly gaze. He looked around and found himself in a small, all-white space. Including him, there were seven people in total, a mix of men and women, young and old.
The person in front of him, the one who had woken him, was an impatient-looking young man.
‘Where is this place? Who are these people? How did I get here? And… did I just pass out?’
But before he could ask, a system announcement echoed throughout the room.
[Welcome, everyone, to the World of Bizarre Rules. Here, both humans and the bizarre must abide by the rules. Break them, and you will be obliterated…]
Logan Langdon’s pupils contracted. He had no idea that leaving the Sea Survival System would get him dragged into a World of Bizarre Rules.
He knew exactly what a world of bizarre rules entailed.
And that made it all the more unacceptable.
He had worked so hard, done so much, to finally break free from the Sea Survival System. It wasn’t to end up in an even more restrictive world. ‘But what am I supposed to do now?’
